Soft things aren’t necessarily food…

The mist seed to cover Jessica’s vision.

Jessica hadn’t yet reacted to where exactly this place was, only Milu’s voice rang out behind her.

“They’ve co, I knew they were persistent ghosts! Did you expose our location?”

Jessica turned around sharply, but what she saw was Milu’s corpse lying in a pool of blood.

Her pupils contracted sharply, then she quickly walked to the corpse.

“Milu! What exactly happened? Where are the other children?”

“Sister Jessica, are you looking for us?”

The children’s crying voices echoed in the air.

Jessica only felt her hair stand on end, goosebumps rising all over.

She stood up trembling and raised her head to look ahead.

She saw that at the far end there was a tall throne, and sitting on the seat was the person most familiar to her.

“Jessica, can’t you hear my command? I told you not to investigate the Welfare Institution anymore!”

“But father…”

“How many tis must I say it, call Your Majesty the King! How dare you defy my orders! Do you think that just because you’re the Empire’s Princess you can do whatever you want! Rember, I am the master of this country!”

Joseph waved his hand forcefully at Jessica.

Jessica was instantly sent flying backwards!

She gritted her teeth, enduring the intense pain as she stood up from the ground.

Just then, Henry’s voice suddenly ca from behind her.

“Your Royal Highness the Princess, you’ve disappointed so much. I originally thought you could do it.”

“Henry!”

The sound of THUMP THUMP kept coming to her ears!

She seed to feel her heart about to burst from her chest!

So emotions were about to beco uncontrollable!

She didn’t have ti to turn around and explain to Henry.

Because at this mont she had already opened her eyes, looking in terror at the familiar ceiling.

After returning last night, she had fallen into a deep sleep.

She was grateful that everything she had just experienced was only a dream.

At the sa ti, she broke out in a cold sweat, the sweat soaking her lace nightgown, revealing her faintly visible skin.

“Knock knock knock!”

Urgent knocking ca from the door.

Jessica put on her coat and opened the door.

The person knocking was a little maid, whose expression was tense, as if sothing big had happened.

“Your Royal Highness the Princess, there are several Magic Knights downstairs who have important matters to report to you. They say it’s very urgent.”

“Alright, I’ll co down imdiately.”

Jessica wasn’t encountering this kind of situation for the first ti.

The first ti was because a large batch of Magical Creatures appeared within the Empire’s territory that needed urgent handling, the second ti was because Cultist murder incidents appeared in the Imperial Capital.

And this ti, the matter was probably not that simple either.

She hurriedly changed clothes and went downstairs.

Downstairs, several Magic Knights knelt on one knee upon seeing Jessica, placing their hands on their chests in salute.

“Your Royal Highness the Princess, an urgent matter has occurred.”

“Speak on the way.”

After several people went out and boarded a carriage, one of them began to describe what had happened.

“This morning, we received news that two corpses appeared in a tavern. The killer struck fast, ruthless, and precise, without any hesitation at all. This was clearly sothing only soone who kills frequently could do. At the sa ti, we also examined the other corpse and discovered so clues on it!”

That person took out a past corpse report from his pocket.

“On that corpse, we found poison! This is sowhat similar to several cases from when Cultists appeared in the Imperial Capital before. They were all killed instantly by soone using a poisoned dagger.”

Jessica’s expression beca slightly grim, looking quite unpleasant.

She knew those Cultists were rampant, but she hadn’t expected they would dare to commit cris at this ti!

After destroying one stronghold last ti, didn’t they know to restrain themselves?

Faced with Jessica’s silence, the several knights exchanged glances, then took out another piece of evidence from their pockets.

“Your Royal Highness the Princess, this ti at the scene, we also found a key piece of evidence, but this evidence is… sowhat strange.”

“Strange?”

Jessica took the evidence from that knight’s hand.

It was a small, delicate card, and the handwriting on it was very childish, looking just like what a child would write.

[Happy Birthday, Mother. Note: Love you forever, Henry]

Seeing the na on the card, Jessica’s breathing also beca rapid!

She kept shaking her head, even thinking it was her own hallucination.

But the na on the card left her with no way to ignore it.

“Are you saying this card was found at the scene?”

“Yes, and we’ve verified that this belongs to Henry Rulter.”

It felt as if a thousand-pound weight was pressing on her head.

For a mont, Jessica couldn’t say anything in rebuttal.

In her understanding, Henry absolutely, absolutely could not do this kind of thing!

You must know that Henry had once risked his life to save her.

Similarly, the several Magic Knights beside Jessica had also heard about this matter.

That man who had saved Her Royal Highness the Princess was actually a cruel murderer!

It wasn’t that they were unwilling to believe, but there was physical evidence at the scene, and more importantly, the Rulter Family had acknowledged that this was Henry’s personal item!

They needed to hand this matter over to Her Royal Highness the Princess to resolve.

When it ca to justice, they had never doubted Her Royal Highness the Princess!

****

Henry suddenly sneezed loudly!

The excessive movent even caught Lilith’s attention.

While wiping the stove in front of her, she said:

“The weather has gotten much colder recently. Young Master Henry, do you have a cold?”

“I don’t know, I just suddenly feel a lot of pressure, like I can’t digest it all.”

Henry wiped his nose and sat slumped in his chair like a person who had given up.

rlin had agreed to connect his hot springs to the Academy’s water pipes.

Now the hot springs outside could be used normally.

However, Henry hadn’t gone to soak right away. He felt this kind of thing should be done at night to have the right feeling.

Hearing this, Lilith quietly put down the feather duster in her hand and began tying up her hair.

“Young Master Henry, if you have pressure, you can talk to about it. I’m your maid, I can help you digest it together.”

After saying this, she walked toward Henry.

Seeing her hair-tying motion, Henry was so scared he even kicked over his chair.

“Hey hey hey! That’s not what I ant!”

“Then what do you an?”

Lilith stopped her movents and subconsciously looked toward the window.

Her eyes narrowed slightly, as if she had noticed sothing wrong.

Henry took a deep breath and said:

“Actually, I made ten thousand Gold Coins yesterday, which should be enough for household expenses! You can’t say I’m eating your soft rice now!”

Lilith turned back to look at him, and the corner of her mouth showed a contemptuous smile.

“You’ve eaten plenty of soft things, but they’re not necessarily food.”

“Serious business, don’t bring up dirty jokes!”

“There are people outside looking for you. I’ll avoid them for now.”

After saying this, Lilith walked into the darkness and disappeared.

Henry followed her words and looked outside.

“Hmm? How did Jessica co here? Does she miss ?”
