Chapter 126

How Did This Happen!

“I’ve been refining a lot of pills recently, but their efficacy doesn’t seem great.” Erica reported her recent alchemy progress to Henry, dark circles under her eyes.

But seeing her nearly exhausted expression, Henry finally understood why Erica would succeed in the future.

Her dedication to her work filled Henry with imnse respect.

Of course, the prerequisite was that she didn’t die in his house.

“Hey, Erica, maybe you should take a break. It looks like you’re reaching your limit.”

“Limit?” Erica forced a smile, a faint grin still visible on her face. “Back when I was working on alchemical potions, I once went a whole week without sleep, sustained only by drinking ntal stimulant potions!”

A science maniac!

Henry could hardly imagine soone going a full week without sleep just for research and experints.

Ever since Erica learned about the path of pill refining, she ca to the backyard every day after school to refine pills.

She had almost blown up the backyard in the process.

If he hadn’t paid the physical price to placate Lilith, she probably would have kicked Erica out on the spot.

“Alright, staying up late isn’t good. You should head back now!”

“Fine. These are the new pills I refined. The effect is roughly that they can make people tell the truth, but the duration is very short.”

A verbal truth serum pill version!

Henry’s mouth fell slightly agape, utterly shocked by the genius’s creativity.

This thing would be sothing various factions would fight tooth and nail for.

Who knew if there were moles within their own countries? If they caught a suspicious person and forced this pill down their throat, they’d probably spill everything, down to what color underwear their dad wore.

Henry suddenly felt so regret about letting her go ho.

If she continued her research like this, he reckoned Erica was going to change the world’s storyline.

Henry stretched lazily, feeling rather bored lately, as if there was nothing to do.

At the academy, because he had passed the mory Fragnt, he had beco the focus of attention for many teachers.

Of course, many teachers also approached him privately to buy so of his little pills, saying Teacher Malin had recomnded them.

Even students got wind of it, sneaking around to ask if he had these pills, claiming they wanted to buy a few for a friend.

They knew in their hearts whether it was really for a ‘friend’ or not.

Henry didn’t expose their lies.

However, Henry soon gained the nickna “dicine King” within the academy.

So said he was a miraculous doctor reborn, others claid he had saved many families on the verge of separation.

Henry didn’t respond to any of it.

Hiding his rits and fa!

Hmm, coming in, should I ask Sherisa or Jessica to be my dance partner?

Henry was quite conflicted. At the sa ti, he felt that if he only asked one of them, the other might chop him into minceat.

Probably not even that big of a chunk.

Henry always trusted his intuition. Since that was the case, why not invite both!

Let them both beco his wings.

Of course, this was all Henry’s own fantasy.

If he actually tried it, he reckoned Mada Reina would be the first to tear him limb from limb.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!

Rapid knocking caught Henry’s attention.

Henry looked puzzled towards the door, thinking Lilith shouldn’t be ho yet, and besides, Lilith didn’t knock when she ca ho.

“Who is it!”

“Classmate Henry, you’re ho! That’s great, I was afraid I wouldn’t find you!”

The familiar voice made Henry pause. Wasn’t that the black market store boss?

Had he really co looking for him?

Thinking it over, it must be about that Black Magic Book.

The boss probably couldn’t find a way to inject magic power into the book, which was why he was so anxious to find him.

Henry opened the door to see the boss standing there panting, looking like he had walked a long way to find him.

“Oh, Classmate Henry, I didn’t realize you were quite famous. Asking for your na on the street, those classmates actually all knew you. But what I found most unbelievable was that you’re actually a child of the Rulter Family!”

The boss seed very surprised by this, but Henry waved it off indifferently.

“I’ve been kicked out. I have nothing to do with the Rulters anymore. Luckily you didn’t go to the Rulter estate, otherwise you probably wouldn’t have made it here today.”

“Do they hate you that much?”

Hearing Henry’s words, cold sweat broke out on the boss’s forehead.

But he quickly refocused. He pulled the Black Magic Book out of his backpack. The once relatively plump book was now as thin as paper, as if it hadn’t eaten for many days.

“Never mind that for now, Classmate Henry, do you know what’s going on with this book? I’ve never seen it like this before.”

“You’re asking ? How should I know? I don’t understand this book’s inner workings. Besides, I already sold this book to you, it has nothing to do with anymore.”

After saying this, Henry made a move to close the door.

But the boss quickly jamd his foot in the doorway, his expression anxious.

“This… you managed to make it full before, right? So what’s the thod?”

“I don’t know. I went to sleep at ho, and when I woke up, words had appeared on its pages.”

Henry wasn’t exactly lying.

He really did go to sleep, and then the book devoured magic power that ca from who-knows-where.

But the boss was too agitated to let Henry off.

He had spent a fortune to buy this Black Magic Book from Henry; it couldn’t just go to waste!

“Alright then, Classmate Henry, I’ll pay you again. Please help figure out what’s really going on.”

After speaking, he fumbled in his pocket for a card.

But in his flustered state, he accidentally dropped dozens of bank cards on the ground.

Henry stared at the dense pile of bank cards, montarily speechless.

Just how much money did this guy have in the bank?

And where did he get so many accounts?

Did the Noel Family allow one person to create this many accounts?

A multitude of questions plunged Henry into confusion.

The boss, however, quickly picked out one of the cards and pressed it into Henry’s hand.

“Hurry, hurry, you must have a way!”

“Well… why don’t you try injecting magic power into the Black Magic Book?”

“Injecting magic power doesn’t work!”

The boss wasn’t stupid; of course he had tried that.

But this Black Magic Book didn’t seem to accept his magic power.

That’s why the boss was so frantic.

“Boss, take a guess. Why is this book called a Black Magic Book?”

“What kind of nonsense is this, I don’t underst…”

Before he could finish, the boss froze, his eyes wide.

“You an… if I inject Dark Magic into it, the book will return to normal?”

“I didn’t say that. I’m just making a suggestion.”

“Then quickly inject so Dark Magic into it!” The boss was impatiently eager to use the Black Magic Book to restore it to normal.

But Henry just looked at the boss with a smirk, his tone teasing.

“Boss, take another guess. Where are you right now?”

“This is Saint Nad Magic Academy, isn’t it? What’s the… problem…”

By the end, the boss’s voice trailed off.

He swallowed hard, then cautiously asked.

“This… this shouldn’t be related to being a cultist, right……”
