Up ahead, Wan Changming pricked up his ears, listening intently.

He was exceedingly curious about the origins of Chu Ge's group.

"Chu Ge."

Chu Ge gave Mu Qinglan a faint smile.

"Ying Qingjue."

"Yuan Jue."

The two won were not nearly as warm, rely stating their nas.

Yet Mu Qinglan showed not the slightest displeasure at their sowhat cool attitude.

On the contrary, upon hearing Chu Ge's na, she finally confird the conjecture she had been harboring in her heart. At this mont, her emotions could only be described as exhilaration!

If Chu Ge had not been right beside her, she would have been unable to resist breaking into laughter from sheer joy.

Ever since they were outside the city, Mu Qinglan had harbored suspicions about Chu Ge's identity, yet she had never been able to verify them.

Now, hearing Chu Ge speak his na with her own ears, the surprise felt utterly unexpected.

At the sa ti, she secretly cast a glance at Yuan Jue and Ying Qingjue beside Chu Ge.

'The two of them… they should also possess diary copies, right…?'

With this thought in mind, Mu Qinglan decided to find an opportunity to test the waters.

She had long known that she was not the only one who possessed a diary copy. Long ago, she had encountered other diary holders—more than one, in fact.

Not to ntion those far away; nearby there was one right within the City Lord's residence: her close boudoir friend, Wan Qingchi, the daughter of Wan Changming, City Lord of Lingxiao Ancient City.

As if recalling sothing, a smile curled at the corner of Mu Qinglan's lips.

She opened the diary-copy interface within her mind.

In the friends list, she found the na Wan Qingchi, then quickly entered so text and sent the ssage.

After doing so, the smile on her lips deepened further, as though she had thought of sothing rather amusing.

The group did not walk for long before arriving at the City Lord's residence.

Chu Ge lifted his gaze to look ahead.

Lingxiao Ancient City spanned an imnse area, and as its central core, the City Lord's residence was naturally no small place.

At a glance, the residence looked like a city within a city—far beyond anything the City Lord's residence of Tianyuan City, where Chu Ge had once lingered, could compare to.

The vermilion gates rose several zhang high. Above the entrance hung a massive plaque bearing the four characters "Lingxiao City Lord's Residence," written in powerful, vigorous strokes that danced like flying dragons and phoenixes, exuding a grand and imposing aura.

Several soldiers clad in azure-gold armor stood silently outside the gates. The aura emanating from each of them was sufficient to rival that of the commander Wu Kui!

"Young Master Chu, please."

Wan Changming greeted him with a smile, then led Chu Ge and his party inside.

Upon stepping through the gates, an entirely different scene unfolded.

Before them stretched a broad stone-paved road. On either side grew rare spiritual plants; their branches and leaves swayed gently, faint spiritual radiance flickering between them as if they were drawing in the spiritual energy of heaven and earth.

Following the stone path forward, a magnificent grand hall ca into view.

The hall was founded upon enormous blocks of spiritual jade, emitting a soft, gentle glow.

Its roof was tiled with glazed tiles, each one engraved with intricate patterns.

These were spirit inscriptions, capable of gathering the spiritual energy of heaven and earth.

At the sa ti, the inscriptions interlinked with one another to form protective formations, serving a defensive function as well.

Wan Changming summoned a servant and issued a few instructions, whereupon the servant imdiately trotted off.

"Father!"

Just as Wan Changming was about to lead Chu Ge's group into the grand hall, a clear and pleasant voice suddenly rang out from the side, causing him to halt and turn his head to look.
