Timmy’s ship reached Glitzy’s Headquarters, which gave Leo a new understanding about this place.
He thought Timmy’s ship was bad? But the other ships that were stationed here looked to be in even worse condition. So were literally being taken apart at this mont to be used as spare parts.
"Timmy, help catch that chicken!" A shout ca from the distance.
Leo looked back and saw a woman running after a chicken, trying to catch it. Timmy reacted fast, and started chasing after the chicken without even questioning anything.
It made Leo facepalm himself. It felt totally justified for this chaotic delivery service to have so many bad reviews. It was surprising how it had even lasted so long.
"I am impressed." He scratched his temple, watching the chicken running in his direction while two people were chasing after it.
Leo sighed and bent forward, catching the chicken quite effortlessly.
"T-thank you!" The woman was breathing heavily as she ca to a stop.
"Here you go," Leo handed the chicken back to the girl, before jokingly asking, "You’re not going to deliver this chicken in place of eggs again, right?"
"You read that review?" The girl’s face went red in embarrassnt. "I-It wasn’t my fault that the eggs hatched mid delivery!"
The girl ran, her eyes growing moist in sha.
"You really have a way with words. To think that you would highlight her past mistake on her face." Timmy sighed, glaring at Leo. "You are brutal."
"Her past mistake? I didn’t know that review was for her?" Leo had only jokingly ntioned that review, not knowing that the girl was the one responsible for that delivery and the review that ca with it.
He reached out his hand to explain to the girl, but she had already disappeared.
Leo shook his head lightly, and changed the topic. "Aren’t you going to take to your boss?"
"Ah, right!"
Timmy quickly brought Leo through a path that looked like they were walking through mazes.
Along the way, Leo saw fungus and cracks all over the place, especially on the walls. There was barely any section that was intact. It quite reminded him of the place where he had stayed before he awakened this system.
He didn’t look down on this place. On the contrary, he was growing more and more impressed. With each passing second, his decision to invest in this disaster company was looking more and more foolproof.
He was soon brought to the office of Glitzy’s Owner. On a single knock, the door was opened as if Marque was waiting for them next to the door.
Marque still had the look of being wronged, and a little anger in his eyes over Leo’s ’prank’ which he still couldn’t hide completely.
He still tried to be professional and welcod Leo. The entire ceremony was short, and only lasted for ten minutes.
Leo officially signed the contract. With that, he had officially beco a shareholder in Glitzy’s Delivery Services.
After so formality of a conversation, he left the office, saying that he had other places to be.
Marque didn’t stop him either. He simply looked at the contract. With this, the investnt was official! He could finally improve this company’s situation.
Leo did not realize that Marque was planning to change this company for the better. Instead, he thought Marque would simply blow the money, and the company would keep going to losses.
After all, if he was a good CEO, why would the company be in this situation in the first place? He didn’t realise that his investnt had set the foundation for sothing great.
Unaware what the future of Glitzy held, Leo walked through the maze in reverse and returned to the bay.
Timmy was once again assigned to send him back to Earth, or wherever the shareholder wanted to go.
Timmy had been silent throughout the entire way back. Only when the contract was signed did he realize why Leo was invited here. He had beco a shareholder? Didn’t it an Leo was also his boss now?
He didn’t know how to address Leo. Should he be formal like he was with Marque? Or should he maintain the sa tone as before which was respectful yet friendly as well.
On the way back, Leo had been strangely silent as well. He only said one thing when he took his seat inside the ship.
"You don’t have to take back to earth. Drop at the nearest planet. I have sothing to do there."
"The nearest planet? Isn’t that a low ranking planet where cannibalism is still prevalent?"
"It’s alright. I’ll be eting a friend there. You don’t have to worry about ."
Timmy shut his mouth and simply nodded. It wasn’t Leo but his boss sitting next to him, after all.
Leo was lost in thoughts of Necropolis since he was going to be returning to the ship assigned to him. From that mont onwards, his life was going to be completely different.
He was slightly nervous regarding the future, which was why he had been so silent and serious. He didn’t realize that he was giving a completely different impression to Timmy.
The ship left Glitzy’s hangar, and Leo was brought to the closest planet. It was a journey that took only a half an hour.
"Are you sure you will be fine?" Timmy asked Leo, who was leaving the ship.
"I’ll be fine. You should worry about yourself, my friend." Leo waved his hand without turning around. "Have a safe trip back."
He jumped out of the ship which was hovering half a ter above the sand.
"Stay safe..." Timmy mumbled, before following orders and leaving this place. He could only trust Leo’s words about him being safe here.
Timmy left the lower planet, and his ship disappeared into distant space.
Timmy didn’t know that his life was also going to be different from the mont he returned to the headquarters, as he was going to be promoted as per Leo’s contract terms.
Leo watched the ship disappear into the distant sky. Only a few monts had passed from that mont when he heard the sound of a horn.
"Hmm?" He looked towards the source of the sound, and saw wolf-like creatures running over the sand, in his direction.
Humans were sitting on the wolves, holding spears with the sharp tip made of stone. The man on the leading wolf was blowing the horn, signalling the hunt.
"If it was in the past, I might have been scared. But now... haven’t you chosen the wrong prey?"
Leo took off his shirt, and started changing his clothes. The mont he brought out the clothes that he had received from Voldred, a scary aura of death started enveloping the entire desert.
The wolves ca to an absurd stop, making a few hunters fly forth, falling face first in the sand.
Leo donned the black robe which covered his entire body. Next, he wore gloves that looked similar to gauntlets, yet not as thick.
"Kakakaka!" The leading hunter roared, blowing the horn even louder. However, the wolves didn’t move, being more sensitive about death.
The cannibals grumbled in frustration and jumped down from the wolves and ran towards Leo with their spears, unable to control their hunger even as their instincts were warning them.
"Ann?" The cannibals were running towards Leo under the intense heat of the sun, but amidst their chase, they felt the light growing dimr.
They raised their heads, and their faces started growing pale as they saw sothing so large that even their sun was hidden behind it.
Leo brought out a mask from his bag. He placed the mask on his face, completing his disguise. At this rate, no one could even guess his species. Every inch of his skin was hidden.
"Not hungry anymore?" Leo asked, before gesturing towards the sky.
An object fell from the massive ship like a shooting star. The object ca to a stop in front of Leo, hovering in the air.
Leo reached out his hand, and grabbed the hilt of the object, which was the sword that he was gifted by Voldred.
"Money is good, but don’t you think I should know how to protect myself to so extent? Thank you for giving an opportunity to practice."
The hooded figure, holding the bone sword, stepped towards the hunters, looking like the god of death approaching.
