"Did sothing good happen?"
Leo was sitting in the Hero Guild’s ship, which was on its way back to Earth. However, many people could see him occasionally talking to himself and laughing.
So even wondered if he had gone crazy after going through this ss. First, his company was attacked. And now, he himself had co almost face to face with death. It was truly enough to overwhelm any ordinary human.
They didn’t know that Leo was actually looking at his personal wealth. There were so many zeroes that it was hard to even count properly without losing track.
He wasn’t talking to himself, either. He was talking to the little goblin bank manager, who was also dancing with joy.
"Hahaha, as expected of our most precious client. You truly have a way with money!" the goblin laughed heartily.
"Most precious client? You an the only client?" Leo asked, lightly tapping the goblin’s small table.
Although he had only tapped it lightly, it still made the tiny table tremble heavily, as if a giant were trying to crush it.
The goblin quickly wrapped his arms around the tiny, ancient computer to protect it.
"Dear Client, please control yourself. If anything happens to this computer, all the money will be lost."
"What the heck? You an I’ll lose every single penny if that computer, which looks like it could die at any ti, stops working?"
Just when he thought this illegal bank couldn’t beco any shadier, he was even more surprised.
"Cough, don’t worry. Unless you crush it under your thumb, it won’t be destroyed. After all, we have all the comrcially available antivirus software to protect it."
"Shouldn’t you buy a new computer? Though I wonder if they even make them that small. Where do you even go to buy such a thing?"
"I made it myself," the goblin said, proudly thumping his chest.
"You can make a computer from scratch? I didn’t think you were that competent."
"Hmph, you’ll be surprised at how competent I can be. Look, I even made this back massager myself."
The goblin opened his drawer and revealed a tiny back massager to Leo. Leo reached out his hand and took the massager, which was even smaller than a toothpick broken into fragnts.
"I’m truly impressed. It looks like I underestimated you."
Leo returned the massager, with respect for the goblin increasing in his eyes.
"Hmph, much better." The goblin took the massager and activated it, trying to massage his back in front of Leo to make him jealous.
However, as soon as he activated the massager, there was a light sparkle and the massager blew up in the goblin’s face.
"Cough, cough... it looks like there was still so tweaking needed," the goblin said, smoke coming out of his nose and mouth as he coughed.
"Is it too late to take my complints back?" Leo asked, reaching out his hand to take a small candy from the goblin’s bowl.
"My candy!" the goblin cried out, but the candy had already fallen into Leo’s mouth. "You... You evil thief..."
The goblin’s eyes genuinely beca wet as he looked at Leo like a real thief. He quickly pulled back the bowl to avoid any further theft and hid it.
"You don’t have to be over-dramatic. I bought a few for you as well. Try them." Leo brought a candy out of his pocket and placed it on the branch manager’s table.
Now on the table, there was a small computer and a candy that was larger than the computer itself. It was so big that it didn’t even look like the manager could pick it up.
The branch manager bent forward and gave the giant candy a lick; his eyes imdiately lit up. This was even sweeter than the ones he carried. He couldn’t bring himself to stop licking it, as if a goblin had suddenly turned into a dog.
Leo didn’t interfere with the goblin. At the mont, he was in a truly good mood. Although there were so hiccups in his plan, everything had more or less fallen into place.
He had wounded the Lionel Family. He had even found the lost prince. And lastly, he had the money needed to protect himself and everything he was building. More importantly, he had the ring that could still create more explosives whenever needed.
He relaxed back in his chair, giving his branch manager enough ti to finish the candy. At the sa ti, he started the process of filing the application to open a bank under the umbrella of Alpha Corp.
....
"Mother, why are you crying?"
At the sa ti, in Fiona’s holand, she hugged her daughter tightly.
Her eyes genuinely looked wet, as if she were truly worried that she might lose her family before she even returned, especially since Leo had told her that he left a ’gift’ on her planet.
She had rushed all the way back, fearing the worst. Fortunately, there was no news of any explosions.
"Nothing... Mama is just glad that you are safe," Fiona answered, as she lifted her daughter in her arms and left the mansion.
She quickly took her daughter back to the ship hovering outside the planet as the search for explosives intensified. After half a day, the search was finally completed.
She received a ssage with the conclusion: "No explosives found. No unfamiliar or unknown material found. No signs of any intrusion."
"What?" Fiona raised her brow, realizing what it ant. Leo had lied to her! He had fooled her, taking advantage of her fear amidst the explosions.
"Leo Vanderlen!" she exclaid loudly, even scaring the maids waiting behind her.
She imdiately brought out her communicator and sent a ssage: "I want Leo Vanderlen at my feet! Capture him and bring him to !"
In an unknown place, a group of n were getting drunk and enjoying themselves when their leader received a ssage.
"Hmm? A new mission?" the man smirked, before raising his voice. "Get up, boys. It’s ti to get to work."
If Leo were here, he would have recognized these people. They were the sa people who had attacked Alpha Labs. In fact, this was Leo’s goal as well.
He wanted to bring these unknown people out of hiding. Finally, they were returning to Earth, this ti not to attack from behind, but to take a shot at him directly.
