"Umm, what just happened?" Timmy raised his head, looking back and forth between the auctioneer and Kaelus.

His face was filled with questions, but Kaelus wasn’t any better. He was looking back and forth between the auctioneer and Timmy, as if he had just been caught in an embarrassing mont.

Just now he was flexing how everything was in his control, and imdiately he was proven wrong. That wasn’t sothing that should’ve happened to a baddie like him, right?

"Umm, how many credits do we have?" he slowly asked the Malakor’s son next to him, who had been supporting him like an attendant in his escapades.

"Umm... Not even close to what we have just spent..." Reven answered. "Let put it this way... If they made us clean the floor for nominal pay, then it would only take us a few thousand years to pay everything back..."

"Uhh... I just rembered, I have to use the washroom..." Kaelus coughed lightly, as he casually stood up.

While everyone’s attention was on the closing of the auction, he carefully started sneaking away from the row of chairs.

Throughout this ti, he acted completely natural to not raise any suspicions.

Along the way, he even tapped the shoulder of the guards and said, "Tell them to pack my Lotus. After I return from the washroom, I’ll collect my trophy. Make sure you people don’t ss up, alright?"

The guard looked weird, but nodded. In any case, the exits were sealed through this auction. So he didn’t worry that Kaelus would be able to escape.

After all, only the path to the garden was left open, but no one could escape through that place as an even stronger barrier was placed on the end of the garden.

After getting past the guard, Kaelus fastened his pace, and imdiately disappeared from the hall filled with guests.

"I rember that I also have to freshen up. I’ll be right back." Reven also stood up, patting his clothes lightly.

He walked over to the sa guard and said, "It looks like my lord forgot his favorite handkerchief. Without it in his pocket, he can’t even pee. I’ll give it to him."

He walked past the guard at the back, who again nodded, his expressions only slightly fluctuating.

The two from Necropolis had already snuck away, but they were still waiting outside the hall for Timmy to join them.

anwhile Timmy’s back was covered in cold sweat as he mumbled, "They are going to co back, right?"

....

Back in the VIP Room, Leo wasn’t any less confused either. The auction was going so well, so what happened? Why did Selene stop raising the bid?

When she looked at her face, he saw a subtle frown on her face. It even looked like she was slightly distracted, and not focused on the stage.

’Is she talking to soone? Could it be the one leading delegation of Nephilim? Is that why both of them stopped bidding? Just what is going on in their mind?’

Leo wanted to just rush down and strangle Kaelus for ssing up in such an important auction. Did he even have enough money to pay him?

There were so many questions in his mind that he needed to check in person. Fortunately, just then, he saw soone stand up from their chair.

’Is that Kaelus?’ Leo thought, as he also stood up.

"Can I go out to freshen up a little before it gets crowded?" He asked in a barely audible voice.

He didn’t get a response from Selene who was still a little distracted, and this was one of the reasons he had spoken in such a low voice.

Taking her silence as permission, Leo also tried to sneak out of the room, and away from this delegation of Seraphims.

anwhile, Selene’s daughter watched him leave the room, but she didn’t follow him. Or at least she didn’t follow him in a way that Leo could notice.

She kept her eye on him through her heightened senses which were able to see through the walls.

Only after he was far away that she opened the door and stepped out of the room, following the direction that Leo had taken.

"Let’s see what you’re up to."

This ti, Leo didn’t take the path to the garden. He went towards the stage where the seating arrangent for thousands of guests without the VIP Room was made.

"Why is he taking so long? We need ti to sneak out! He should be fast!"

Kaelus was still waiting for Timmy behind the wall, but the young man simply refused to budge from his seat.

"Should we leave him behind?" Reven suggested.

"We can’t leave him behind. At this point, he knows a lot about us. If they interrogate him, it’ll be a problem for us."

Kaelus sighed, as he raised his hand. "I suppose I have no choice in the matter. I’ll have to use that accursed art."

A small speck of darkness originated from his boney fingers and flew straight to Timmy, entering his body through his forehead.

Imdiately, Timmy’s eyes went blank as he stood up, his body not being under his control.

"It’s a good thing that his soul is so weak. It makes things easier," Kaelus said, watching Timmy walk towards them.

The guard at the end of the hall looked at Timmy, wondering if he was also going to offer an explanation.

Timmy simply looked at the guard and revealed a creepy smile before nodding slightly as he went past him.

After Timmy left the ball, the speck of darkness left his body, and returned to Kaelus.

anwhile, Raven picked Timmy on his shoulder, and the three of them started running as fast as they could.

"Which way?" At the start of the path that split in two, with one leading towards the exit, Kaelus asked.

"The exit would be heavily fortified. We will have to take the second path. We should be able to make a hole in the barrier with your strength."

Reven pointed towards the path that led to the garden, and the two of them started running again, with Timmy barely coming to his senses, wondering where he was now.

anwhile, a few minutes later, Leo reached the entrance, only to find no signs of Kaelus. Instead, he saw that the guests at the auction house were starting to stand up as the auction was over.

And the guest in the lead, who was almost the first to leave, was Fiona.

"Oh yeah, there’s that too," Leo mumbled, looking at his watch again.

anwhile Fiona stopped before Leo, looking straight in his eyes. "I didn’t expect to see you here."

"I didn’t expect to see your people in my labs either," Leo answered right away.

"I have no idea what you’re talking about," Fiona said without the slightest fluctuations in her expressions.

Leo checked his clock again, with the seconds drawing closer.

"Don’t worry. I won’t know what you’re talking about either," Leo stared, and just then, the second hand completed its rotation.

"You should stop being arrogant and co work under . I can still forgive you, you know." Fiona raised her slender finger and lightly tapped Leo’s forehand.

"Are you sure you have ti to be worrying about ?" Leo asked in return. He moved closer to Fiona and whispered in her ears. "You hurt a lot, Lady Fiona. So let this be the beginning..."

"The beginning of what? What are you talking about?" Fiona scoffed, shaking her head in laughter.

However, just then, a light chi resounded from her device.

Now that the auction was over, the communication ban was removed. And devices could receive communication again.

Fiona brought her device out of her purse, and checked the ssage. And imdiately, her expressions were distorted.
