While Eric was navigating the social minefield of the Academy courtyard a very different kind of eting was taking place within his own internal domain.

Adam seated on his taphorical sofa was dressing down Millennia his sentient System Interface.

His voice a low dangerous growl that resonated through his personal pocket dinsion was filled with a cold simring rage.

"Millennia," he began his tone deceptively calm yet laced with an undeniable fury "I did not expect this from you. You failed ."

The [System Interface: Millennia] hovering before him displayed no visible expression on its smooth glowing surface. Yet its responses the words that materialized on its interface were filled with a profound sense of apology.

"[Master Adam please forgive ]" the text read.

The light of the interface flickered slightly as if in trepidation in fear.

"[I did not fully comprehend your instructions. I did not understand the true scope of your plans. This failure is mine and mine alone. I will rectify this oversight imdiately.]"

As the words appeared on the screen Millennia began to act. A surge of data a flow of new information and commands went from the main System to the Sub-Systems it had provided to all the new and old mbers of Adam’s group The New Warriors.

It began to grant them extra latent skills abilities that would lie dormant within them until they were needed.

And at the sa ti it began to actively monitor them. Not just for emotional instability or betrayal but for any and all external threats. It was now a constant vigilant watch over their physical well-being.

Adam looked at the System Interface his expression still grim and serious.

"Do not let this mistake happen again Millennia," he warned his voice a low nacing whisper.

"This ti I did not have enough cards in my hand to save myself from being expelled from the Academy. This ti... I was simply lucky that the Principal was a reasonable man."

Millennia hearing Adam’s words made a silent internal decision. The mistake that had occurred the failure to protect Ryan would never be repeated. Its master would not be put in such a position again.

The scene shifted.

Back in the physical world Eric and his now-sizable group had reached the main academic building. It was a vast sprawling structure located so distance from the dormitories the training grounds and the large auditorium.

As Eric along with Void and Kado stepped inside the main hall the group of over eighty students that had been following them began to disperse.

They were heading off to their own assigned classrooms for their first day of lessons.

After the "incident" in the cafeteria the mbers of the other established factions were now giving the mbers of The New Warriors a wide berth.

They were trying their best to ignore them to avoid any further confrontation. They did not want to invite the sa kind of trouble that had befallen the powerful Red Team.

Eric watched as Void casually strolled off towards the classrooms for Section C.

He had a smug look on his face. Kado after giving Eric a quick encouraging nod also departed. He was heading towards his own assigned class which was also in Section C.

Now alone Eric made his way to a large notice board that was hanging in the main hall.

On it long lists of nas were posted. These lists detailed which students had been assigned to which class sections for their first year.

He started at the bottom scanning the list for Section F. He was half-expecting half-fearing to see his na there. But it wasn’t. A small flicker of hope ignited within him. Maybe I’m not in the lowest class he thought.

He then scanned the list for Section E. His na wasn’t there either. Nor was it in Section D the section his brothers had been in. Nor was it in Section C with Void and Kado.

With each list he scanned his hope grew but so too did his anxiety.

The higher the class section the more demanding the coursework would be. And the more intense the competition would be from the other students.

Finally after scanning all the other lists he looked at the very top of the notice board. And there it was. His na "Eric" was listed under the heading: "Section A."

Void’s earlier teasing prediction echoed in his mind. He said I would be in Section A. But at this mont Eric felt no excitent no sense of triumph or pride. He just felt a profound weary sense of dread.

He let out a long slow sigh. His difficulties at this Academy were only just beginning.

Not only had he been placed in the most elite most competitive section in the entire first year.

But he had also missed the very first day of classes yesterday. And he had no valid excuse no reasonable explanation to offer the class teacher.

Now he doesn’t have much choice in this matter as to which class section he can go to. Eric wanted to go to the lower section because many other people are already looking at him and Eric has even more attention.

Eric doesn’t want to draw too much attention to himself.

He was facing a person he had never t whose temperant and reaction to his perceived delinquency were a complete unknown. This was a very bad start.

With a heavy heart Eric turned and began the long walk down the corridor towards the classrooms for Section A. His mind was a storm of worry and apprehension. He felt like he was walking towards his own doom.

He was completely unprepared for the challenges that awaited him in the most elite class of the United Academy. He felt like a small fish being thrown into a tank full of sharks.
