[Boom—]
With a heavy thud, his entire body was sent flying. But before Chiriku could get far, an inexplicable repulsive force suddenly manifested midair.
[Crash—]
He was slamd violently into the ground. The impact, intensified by that repulsive force, cracked the very earth beneath him.
“What… what just happened?!”
The surrounding monks were completely bewildered. None of them could make sense of what they’d just witnessed—but a few of the sharper ones quickly reacted.
“Now’s our chance! Use ninjutsu! Don’t let him get close to the Chief Monk!”
“Yes!”
The monks instantly followed the command and began forming hand seals at high speed.
In an instant, a barrage of ninjutsu surged toward Kitagawa Gen. The sheer number and intensity of attacks made him raise an eyebrow.
But after a brief mont of thought, he calmly lifted his right hand.
A shimring blue barrier appeared around him.
The next second—he was swallowed by the incoming ninjutsu.
“Huh?!”
“What is that—”
“What’s going on?!”
“What is that thing?!”
But the expected explosions never ca.
As the waves of jutsu struck him one after another, they began to unravel—disassembling at the mont of contact. Each carefully molded chakra construct was absorbed cleanly into the glowing barrier around Kitagawa Gen, leaving nothing behind.
“Impossible… This is impossible…”
Chiriku had already struggled back to his feet, gritting his teeth. His eyes were wide with disbelief.
The ninjutsu had been absorbed…?
Kitagawa Gen slowly lowered his hand.
'But this is the first ti I’ve actually used this ability. Its absorption strength still isn’t that high. Good thing there aren’t too many people here—and their ninjutsu isn’t that strong. Otherwise, this could’ve been embarrassing.'
Since he had chosen to assu the identity of “Otsutsuki Genshiki,” then he had to live up to it.
In his mind, there were only a few individuals in the shinobi world who carried that kind of aura. Whether or not he truly asured up didn’t matter—he could still imitate their tone and mannerisms.
Even if speaking this way felt a little awkward…
Damn, it felt so good!
“You think tricks like that could actually hurt ? Naive.”
He raised one hand, fingers poised as if to form a seal, his voice sharp and resonant.
“Perhaps your understanding of is a bit… lacking. After all, we’re fundantally not the sa.”
“Allow to demonstrate…”
At that mont, a formless power began radiating violently outward, spreading like a pressure wave through the temple grounds. His words fell like thunder: “…just how vast the gap between us truly is.”
The chakra flooding from him was so thick it choked the air, and a sudden surge of repulsive force burst forth.
With that surge, the monks could no longer withstand the pressure. In an instant, they were hurled away—along with the surrounding buildings.
The once grand and solemn temple began to collapse.
Even the ground itself started to cave in.
In that mont, the monks felt a rising sense of despair.
“Is… is this really a human being?”
It wasn’t just the monks. Chiriku himself stood in stunned silence.
But as the Chief Monk, he forced himself to rise again—determined to at least try to do sothing.
“Raaagh!”
Before anyone could react, a sudden roar erupted from behind them—Sora had lost control.
His entire body was now engulfed in Tailed Beast chakra, having fully entered his Version Two state. Four red tails writhed behind him.
His eyes locked onto Kitagawa Gen, fierce and beastly—devoid of any trace of human reason. Only raw savagery remained.
“Damn it... Sora—he’s completely lost control!”
Chiriku coughed up blood. The situation was rapidly spiraling out of control, and he had no idea what to do.
Perhaps the only silver lining was that this “Otsutsuki Genshiki” had montarily stopped attacking, now turning his attention to the transford Sora.
“So, you’ve co out on your own. All the better.”
Kitagawa Gen quietly nodded as he sensed the Nine-Tails’ chakra radiating from Sora’s body.
“You were my target all along. Why did the rest of you insist on getting in my way? You really brought it on yourselves.”
“Roar!”
The Nine-Tails chakra beast let out another furious howl. One of its tails extended rapidly and swept toward Kitagawa Gen with trendous force.
The ground cracked apart under the pressure of the swinging tail, while dense malevolent chakra surged across the battlefield like a creeping fog.
“Everyone, retreat!”
Chiriku realized this fight was no longer sothing ordinary people could hope to handle. He shouted at the top of his lungs, urging the others to evacuate.
[Boom—]
But at that exact mont, the entire temple trembled violently again.
Then ca the sound of a guttural, monstrous cry—Sora’s anguished wail as his transford body was suddenly smashed against the temple wall by an unseen force.
A powerful shockwave swept through the air, knocking Chiriku completely off balance.
When he looked up again, he saw the beastly Sora pinned into the side of the temple. The structure groaned under the impact, on the verge of collapse.
Yet the creature quickly climbed back to its feet, letting out another furious roar before turning and bolting toward the temple's outer periter.
“Is… is it running?”
Chiriku had witnessed the destructive power of a rampaging Nine-Tails chakra cloak before. And yet, he never imagined that soone could make such a monstrous chakra entity flee in a single exchange.
“To run... that only ans sothing when the gap in power isn’t too wide.”
Kitagawa Gen’s voice drifted through the air again, calm and distant.
The lingering smoke dispersed—just in ti to reveal Sora, frozen mid-stride.
No matter how violently it struggled, its body was suddenly yanked backward—hurtling straight toward Kitagawa Gen.
“But between you and ... that kind of move is pointless.”
As Sora’s chakra-wrapped body crashed to a halt before him, Kitagawa Gen calmly raised his black rod—pointing it straight at the creature’s chest.
“You see… like this—I could pierce your heart at any mont.”
“So stop struggling. It’ll all be over soon.”
...
“What the hell is going on up there?”
Down below the Fire Temple, Uchiha Obito stared into the distance in disbelief. That chakra—there was no way he could mistake it.
“That’s the Nine-Tails’ chakra…? Is that brat Uzumaki Naruto here? No—wait. This doesn’t feel like the full Nine-Tails…”
“That sensation…”
Uchiha Itachi’s expression had darkened as well. He too had witnessed the rampage of the Nine-Tails in the past. In fact, he was among the first to sense its presence that night.
That cold, frenzied chakra overflowing with madness and slaughter—he would never forget it.
“That chakra is… deeply unsettling. And it feels like soone’s fighting.”
Kisa muttered quietly beside them.
“Should we go check it out? Or would it be better to steer clear?”
“We’re going. That might be the Nine-Tails.”
Obito’s tone left no room for argunt. His Mangekyō had already begun to spin, and in an instant, the space around them distorted violently.
Itachi didn’t resist. He followed Obito, and in the next breath—they vanished.
They reappeared inside the Fire Temple.
But the temple was no longer the sacred, towering structure it once was. The once-proud halls lay in ruin. The monks had already evacuated.
All that remained was a man clad in white robes and wearing a mask, radiating a strange and powerful aura.
Lying at his feet was a young boy sprawled on the ground—dark rods stabbed deep into the earth around him.
“That’s…”
Obito’s eyes widened instantly. He recognized those black rods. Uchiha Madara had taught him about them. They were part of his teachings.
The mont he saw them, Obito’s whole deanor changed—instinctively on guard.
Whoever this man was… he wouldn’t be easy to deal with.
“So, you’ve shown up after all?”
And yet, the masked man didn’t seem the least bit surprised by their arrival.
“I’ve been watching you for a while now. I was just wondering when you’d finally show yourselves. Seems I didn’t have to wait long.”
“Who are you?” Obito asked in a low voice.
But Kitagawa Gen didn’t answer. Instead, he slowly turned his head—
And in the next mont, a pair of eyes ca into view—eyes that shimred with a brilliant, flowing blue light, as if galaxies themselves were spinning within.
Those eyes seed to carry a hypnotic power. Both Uchiha Itachi and Uchiha Obito felt a subtle tremble ripple through their own vision.
“What… are those eyes…”
