“Are you done with your questions?”
Pain judged that enough ti had passed, and spoke flatly.
“Then it’s ti to bring this to an end. I’m sorry, but like Jiraiya-sensei, you’ve chosen the wrong path. You—”
“Hold on. I think you’re the one who’s got sothing wrong.”
Kitagawa Gen didn’t wait for him to finish. He grinned suddenly.
“I’ve got the Flying Thunder God Technique. I can co and go as I please. Do you really think you can stop ?”
“…”
Pain raised an eyebrow. For a mont, even he was at a loss for words.
“Besides, I think I’ve figured out your ability—push and pull. Gravitational force, right?”
Kitagawa Gen rolled his neck, the smile never leaving his face.
“And not just that. I’ve also uncovered two little secrets.
“One is the interval between your jutsu. If I’m not mistaken… it’s five seconds, isn’t it?”
“…”
Though Pain’s expression didn’t change, sothing flickered subtly in his eyes.
“You’ve been cautious enough—constantly deflecting my Flying Thunder God marks, always clashing weapons with but never letting touch you. Clearly, you’ve learned your lesson.”
Chakra surged once again from Kitagawa Gen’s body as he spoke slowly and deliberately.
“But I’ve been studying your technique the entire ti—testing the timing with Flying Thunder God, learning the rhythm.
“And now, I think I’ve got a pretty good idea how it works.”
What Kitagawa Gen had just said was pure nonsense—but that was exactly the point: to throw Pain off.
“More importantly, I’ve noticed sothing strange about your chakra. Those black rods are constantly receiving chakra from an external source… which ans—”
[Whoosh—]
Before he could finish his sentence, Kitagawa Gen suddenly dashed forward—his figure appeared right in front of Pain!
“Hmph!”
Pain didn’t dare use his ability recklessly. Instead, he imdiately twisted his arm and stabbed at him with a black receiver.
But just as the rod pierced Kitagawa Gen—he dissolved into a surge of lightning!
“A Lightning Clone? When did he—?!”
Pain didn’t have ti to think. All of a sudden, countless kunai burst out from all directions. In the next instant, reacting to the chakra pulses, they multiplied into tens of thousands more.
A dense storm of kunai rained down like a downpour, completely engulfing Pain. At the sa ti, the real Kitagawa Gen erged from the ground behind him.
As his ninja blade swung down, his voice reached Pain’s ears—and even farther off, into Nagato’s.
“You’re just a clone. Did you really think I let you stall for so long just for fun?”
“The truth is, I’ve been trying to find out where your real body is!”
“So… what do you think? Did I find it?”
...
While Kitagawa Gen’s fight against the Deva Path Pain was turning into a tense stalemate, chaos had broken out elsewhere as well.
“Die, Kakashi!”
“Useless. I’ve already seen through your techniques.”
The battle between Kakashi and Uchiha Obito was in full swing—but sothing about it was confusing Kakashi.
Obito’s ability was sothing he could counter, even if his mastery of Kamui wasn’t quite on Obito’s level.
But as he grew more accustod to how Kamui worked, he was starting to reliably limit Obito’s use of it. That ant he no longer had to worry as much about how to deal with its counters.
Still, there was one thing that left him speechless: Obito’s physical durability. Kakashi had landed nurous clean hits on him—so why did this guy still seem completely unfazed?
“And what the hell happened in Takigakure? Why did Obito completely lose control like this?”
To Kakashi, it truly seed as though Obito had lost his mind. His attacks were more dangerous than ever—but they lacked structure or clarity.
Not that Kakashi minded. If anything, it worked in his favor. He had long since made up his mind: he was going to take down the Obito who’d been spreading evil across the world.
“I need to pick up the pace. Looks like Gen’s facing a seriously dangerous opponent over there…”
That thought echoed in Kakashi’s mind. And he wasn’t the only one—Jiraiya was thinking sothing similar as well.
None of them had forgotten what happened back in the Land of Earth—when Ōnoki’s Dust Release fell from the sky… and had been stopped.
There were still too many unanswered questions—like how Yahiko had co to possess the Rinnegan. There had to be sothing more behind it all, sothing he didn’t yet know.
“Tsunade, are you okay?”
Even while worrying about Kitagawa Gen and Yahiko, Jiraiya couldn’t help but be concerned for his old partner.
“I’m fine. At least for now.”
Tsunade understood exactly what Jiraiya was worried about. She shook her head and looked toward Uchiha Itachi in the distance.
“For now, I’m alright… but later? I can’t say for sure. Damn it.”
“Got it. I’ll figure sothing out as soon as I can.”
Jiraiya gave a slight nod. Seeing how Kitagawa Gen could enter Sage Mode so freely made him feel a little bitter.
Still, given the situation, it was clear—he needed to take a gamble with Sage Mode himself.
“Alright then…”
Jiraiya made his decision. He prepared to summon Gamabunta to buy them so ti, but just as he began forming hand seals, he suddenly looked up.
“What… is this?”
He wasn’t the only one. The others—including even the half-mad Obito—also seed to sense sothing in that instant.
Without thinking, they all raised their heads and looked toward the distance.
And just then—a massive shockwave ca barreling toward them!
[BOOM—]
With the force of the blast wave tearing across the landscape, countless trees snapped in half, and the surrounding rocks and roads were shattered in an instant.
In the distance, within the forest, a dense mushroom cloud quietly began to bloom.
...
"You guess—did I find it or not?"
The instant Kitagawa Gen's figure appeared, Pain's body seed to tense up slightly.
He genuinely hadn’t expected that after just one encounter with this brat, he would already be completely figured out?
Was this kid’s analytical ability really that sharp?
"Konan, we're pulling out."
Nagato made the decision imdiately. While he didn’t think he couldn’t handle the situation, limited mobility could be fatal.
And Konan was right by his side!
If he were alone, he probably wouldn’t even care what Kitagawa Gen was planning.
But Konan might not be able to handle that guy—even though she could fly, he couldn’t risk anything happening.
Of the original three, only the two of them were left. Nagato had long since sworn to protect Konan with his life.
"What’s going on? Is it really that troubleso?"
"It is a bit troubleso, but—"
Nagato shook his head, just about to explain, when suddenly his expression changed drastically.
"Damn it!"
...
On the battlefield, with kunai raining from the sky and Kitagawa Gen suddenly appearing behind him—
Even though his mindset had been shaken, under Nagato's control, Pain still managed to respond calmly and decisively.
"Shinra Tensei!"
That overwhelming repulsive force instantly blew away all the incoming kunai, and even Kitagawa Gen behind him was sent flying in that sa mont!
"This—"
But just then, as he saw the airborne Kitagawa Gen flash a subtle smile, only to vanish into smoke the next instant—a Shadow Clone—he suddenly felt a deep sense of dread.
"How many seconds do you have left now?"
The voice ca from afar. In a blink, Kitagawa Gen had already appeared behind Nagato. Using the taijutsu he learned from the Fourth Raikage, paired with his ninja blade, he struck without hesitation!
"Damn it, he left the marker underground?!"
Thinking back to when Kitagawa Gen had rambled on earlier—so the kid had done that much during that ti?
He’d been played by this brat?
"One second!"
The blade ca down. This ti, Pain didn’t even have ti to react. The edge of the sword cut directly into his back!
Still, he did his best to lunge outward, using the force of Kitagawa Gen’s strike to propel himself further away.
"Two seconds."
But just as he managed to break away, several more kunai ca flying toward him, and Kitagawa Gen was already forming a one-handed seal.
"Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique!"
"Banshō Ten’in!"
Pain instantly raised his hand and pulled—another massive boulder erupted from the ground with a roar, slamming into place as a shield in front of him.
Just as the massive boulder rose into the air, it was shattered by a single slash. In the next instant, Kitagawa Gen suddenly appeared behind Pain.
"Three seconds."
[Boom—]
A fist crackling with violet lightning slamd heavily into Pain's body, sending him flying like a teor!
