He looked exhausted, yet there was a stubborn gleam in his eyes, waiting for Ji Yebai’s response.

Perhaps having gone through a near-death experience, Ning Jingshen truly understood one thing.

A vast mansion is nothing, for nightly rest requires but six feet; imnse riches an little, for daily als only need three!

His career, he could not take with him when born, nor when he dies.

Only family bonds are truly inseparable.

In this world, Ning Xixi is the person closest to him, his only blood relative. He wants to spend more ti with her while he still can, to make up for what he owes her.

"I will," Ji Yebai’s deep, powerful voice echoed in the hospital room.

The expression on his handso face was unprecedentedly serious, as sincere as if taking an oath.

"Good boy," Ning Jingshen smiled contently, "Let’s discuss the engagent party with your parents."

"Why not on her birthday? My mother checked earlier, it’s an auspicious day," Ji Yebai suggested calmly and leisurely.

"Okay, then let both our parents finalize the details. You two youngsters, enjoy your love."

Ning Xixi looked at her dad, speechless as she realized with a few words, he had "sold her off"... oh no, married her off.

What in the world!

Also, isn’t a dad supposed to prevent his daughter from dating too early? Who tells her to enjoy her love life?!

Ji Yebai chatted with Ning Jingshen for a bit, and considering he had just woken and wasn’t in good health, he then took Ning Xixi and left, allowing Ning Jingshen to rest.

All the way until they left the hospital, Ning Xixi was still in a daze, "Dabai, are we really getting engaged?"

Ji Yebai pinched her little face; he just loved how Ning Xixi looked when she was confused, like a little kitten — adorably dazed.

Which made him unable to resist teasing her.

"In such a hurry? How about I take you abroad to get married directly?" Ji Yebai smiled mischievously.

The legal marriage age in China is 18 for both n and won, but abroad, you can marry at 16 in so places.

Ning Xixi’s face reddened, "You know that’s not what I ant!"

"If you don’t say what you an, how am I supposed to know what you an?" The cunning Junior Master acted all nonchalant, "Well, maybe I should marry another woman for a business alliance, sacrificing myself for the glory of the Ji family!"

His sighing and lanting looked absurdly genuine.

Ning Xixi realized it was a joke, yet she couldn’t help getting angry, pouting, "Stupid Dabai, if you dare marry another woman, I’ll ignore you for the rest of my life!"

"Weren’t you the one who didn’t want to marry ?" Ji Yebai teased, a sly glint in his eyes.

Ning Xixi got flustered, "Who said I didn’t want to marry you!"

As soon as she finished speaking, she quickly covered her mouth with her small hand, eyes wide and shiny under the lights, foolishly adorable in Ji Yebai’s eyes.

He sighed, holding Ning Xixi’s little face, and gently kissed her on the forehead.

"How can you make like you so much."

His low, raspy words circled her ears, making Ning Xixi’s face flush instantly, yet she didn’t want to lose to Ji Yebai and asked, hands on hips, "Don’t you want to marry ?"

Ji Yebai chuckled, his voice low and pleasant. He was so close that Ning Xixi could even feel the vibration in his chest.

"Do you really think, other than you, I’ve ever wanted to marry another woman?" Ji Yebai raised an eyebrow, "I have a lot to say to you, but to put it simply."

"I love you, marry ."
