The world seed to fall silent in just a second.
Ning Xixi’s fingertips tightened around her phone, turning pale.
"Dong Yingluo, what tricks are you playing now?"
On the phone, Dong Yingluo let out a soft scoff, her voice filled with affected sweetness, "You’re the one playing tricks. If I hadn’t left for a year, do you think you could have swooped in and taken Ji Yebai? All I’m doing now is taking back my man~"
Ning Xixi’s shoulders trembled, and she realized she couldn’t refute it.
After hanging up the phone in disarray, Ning Xixi lowered her lashes, the corners of her eyes slightly red.
The aquarium was bustling with people, and she appeared as though stripped of her soul, her gaze empty and lost.
Xiao Xichen realized sothing was terribly wrong and hurriedly said, "Sister-in-law, don’t be upset! Brother Ji has his difficulties, he will surely co back..."
"What difficulties?" Ning Xixi asked softly.

Ning Xixi laughed at herself mockingly, "Alright, I won’t ask anymore."
Seeing her like this, Xiao Xichen grew uneasy, "Sister-in-law, let’s go have sothing to eat..."
"Sure." Ning Xixi curved into a gentle smile, as if nothing had happened.
"Xixi..." Cheng Youran watched her with heartache. She was clearly upset, yet still pretending as if nothing was wrong, this fool!
The al was tasteless. Xiao Xichen tried every trick in the book but couldn’t coax a smile from Ning Xixi.
The three of them all had evening flight tickets.

Ning Xixi’s fingers touched the airplane seat, as if trying to reach out to those scenes. A few seconds later, realizing what she was doing, she withdrew her hand with a mocking look in her eyes.

Ning Xixi hailed a taxi. Her phone remained silent.
Ji Yebai hadn’t sent her a single ssage.
Her heart grew colder and more disappointed...
After paying the cab fare, she got out and walked back to her apartnt.
Around the corner, a sudden figure appeared, startling her into a scream—
"Ah!"
She stumbled back several steps, tripping over a stone and falling hard to the ground.
The other person paused, looking at Ning Xixi warily.
The dim streetlight cast a glow on her petite face, her jet-black, glassy eyes now brimming with tears, looking as if she was about to cry.
The young man snorted coldly, "Clumsy!"
Ning Xixi got up and retorted, "It’s your fault! If you hadn’t scared , I wouldn’t have fallen!"
But the other party made no move to apologize, and Ning Xixi resigned herself to her bad luck and headed ho.
As she unlocked her door, she felt as if soone was watching her from behind...
Turning around! She saw the impolite young man who had just startled her walking towards her, rudely grabbing her neck, "Got anything to eat?"
"Ugh..." His grip was strong, turning Ning Xixi’s face red, "Let go..."
"If I let you go, will there be food?" the young man asked curiously.
"Yes."
Only then did he let go of Ning Xixi.
"Wait here, I’ll go in and get you sothing!" Ning Xixi said, but unexpectedly, the young man pushed past her and entered her ho like he owned the place!
