Chapter 539 - The Appearance Of Sophia Higgins
Jack woke up when the sun was high. After consuming bottles of whiskey alone, Jack finally collapsed. Luckily, he went with Erick and Nicholas who faithfully looked after him, so that when he passed out, no one took advantage of him. Jack was silent for a long ti in his big bed, trying to rember what had happened. His hands imdiately clenched into fists when he managed to rember the photos of Anne and Leon that he got from an email sent by an anonymous account that Erick couldn't track down because the account had imdiately deactivated his account.
"Aarrggghhhh....! Fuck! You're such a jerk, Anne. How dare you betray , you damn lowly woman!!!"
Jack again cursed Anne with harsh words he had never said before. His disappointnt in Anne was too great to make him lose control and sanity. Jack, who didn't investigate the truth of the photos he saw, imdiately judged Anne for being guilty, especially when he saw it herself with his own two eyes when Anne was talking to Leon in front of the mall. The two of them looked very affectionate yesterday, Anne even seed to enjoy the touch of Leon's hand at that ti and that made Jack's anger even bigger. Moreover, when he found out that Anne had miscarried, his hatred for Anne grew even greater. The child he didn't even know existed had now been snatched away from him. Jack had completely lost control last night. With his head still sore, Jack got out of bed, he walked to the bathroom to clean himself.
"Have you guys eaten?" Jack asked quietly to Erick and Nicholas who were standing in front of him, while he was enjoying his breakfast and lunch in the hotel room.
"We already ate this morning, sir," replied Erick politely.
Jack smiled. He then grabbed the napkin in front of him and wiped his lips gently. "If you guys have eaten, why are your faces looking so pale? Don't tell you didn't sleep after we got back from the bar last night."
"We slept well, sir, after bringing you to this room we imdiately went to sleep."
"Really? If you've slept well, why are your faces so pale? Haven't you eaten yet? If you haven't, then co and join ," Jack asked again.
"Mrs. Anne was gone, sir. Thirty minutes ago Luis called and said that Mrs. Anne had left." Nicholas finally got up the nerve to report what had happened at the house.
Jack was silent for a while. His hand that held the knife seed to tremble slightly. But it didn't last long because Jack finally cald down as if nothing had happened. He seed to be enjoying the food in front of him even more. And that confused Erick and Nicholas.
"Is there anything else you'd like to report, Nick?" Jack asked quietly, breaking the silence.
Nicholas shook his head. "No sir, that's all."
"Okay, then you guys get ready. After I finish breakfast, we'll go to the office. Today we have to finish the work that was delayed yesterday."
"Yes, sir." Erick and Nicholas answered Jack's words in unison, after that both of them left Jack who was eating.
When he arrived outside Nicholas imdiately sat on the floor, holding his chest which felt tight, while Erick seed to be leaning against the wall with his eyes closed. The two of them really didn't understand why the master could be so relaxed when he found out that his wife was gone.
"Erick, your cell phone is ringing, asshole!!" Nicholas said quietly, glancing at Erick, who still didn't budge.
"Let it be, it was Alice who contacted . I can't talk to her at the mont. I'm not ready to hear Alice's screams," Erick answered quietly.
Nicholas looked back at Erick sharply. "Is Master like this when he's angry? That's terrible."
Eric smiled wryly. "No, I've never seen Master this angry. In the past when Miss Sophia was betrayed, his attitude was casual, not a single swear word ca out of his lips. He was not like last night."
"I'm really worried for Master, last night he exploded like crazy and this morning he acted as if nothing had happened. Even when he found out that his wife was gone he was so casual. I was really worried about him, Erick," said Nicholas honestly.
"It's not only you who are worried about him, I am worried too. I know how much he loved Madam, when they were still in London a few years ago. I also rember how hard you tried to win Madam's heart. That's why last night I really can't believe what Master had done to his wife, it feels like a dream to see him behave and speak so rudely to Mrs. Anne, especially this morning. It is impossible for anyone to lose all their love in an instant, especially for Master who incidentally was the one who chased Mrs. Anne first."
Nicholas was silent hearing Erick's words. He seed to be scratching his head which didn't itch. He really didn't know what to do. It felt like the events of last night were still imprinted clearly in his mory. When Erick and Nicholas were lost in their own thoughts, suddenly the door to Jack's room opened which imdiately made both of them panic.
"Let's go to the office, it's very late," said Jack quietly as he stood in front of his two nervous assistants.
"Yes sir," replied Erick and Nicholas nervously at the sa ti.
Jack chuckled at the attitude of his two assistants. Without another word, Jack then imdiately walked towards the elevator not far from where he was. Jack was really acting normal even when he knew that now Anne had left his house. There wasn't the slightest bit of worry on his face. It was Jack's calmness that scared Erick and Nicholas. As long as they were in the elevator, there was no conversation. As soon as the elevator opened, Jack imdiately stepped out of the elevator and was surprised to see the figure of a woman he knew was standing in front of him.
"Jack!!"
A beautiful woman scread loudly and imdiately ran to Jack. Without hesitation, the woman imdiately hugged Jack tightly.
Nicholas, who didn't know the woman, looked very confused, while Erick opened his mouth wide because he couldn't believe what was happening in front of his eyes.
"Who is she, Erick? Do you know her?" Nicholas whispered curiously.
Eric nodded his head. "Sophia, she's Sophia Higgins, Master's ex-fiancé who betrayed him in the past."
"That ex... What?!!"
Nicholas' words imdiately stopped when he saw the figure of the woman that Erick had been talking about for a while now appeared in front of them.
"I imdiately flew to Luxembourg when I saw the news that you were still alive, Jack," said Sophia quietly for a mont after releasing her arms from Jack.
"Is that true?"
Sophia nodded quickly. "Yeah, I ca right away. I even left a charity concert I actually had to attend because I wanted to et you, I'm so grateful you're still alive, Jack."
Jack smiled. Suddenly, he raised his hand and touched Sophia's face which imdiately made Erick shocked beyond asure.
"Are you still single?"
Sophia's eyes opened wide. "What did you say, Jack?"
"Do you want to have a relationship with ?" Jack again asked Sophia a question.
"Yes, yes, I want to, Jack!!!" scread Sophia loudly as she hugged Jack tightly again.
Erick suddenly swayed. Fortunately, there was Nicholas holding his body. "Nick, pinch , please wake up from this terrible dream."
