Ch.184 Aromatic Ball (5)
Mu Mingtang instinctively felt that sothing was off, and inspected it repeatedly while she held it in her hand. At this mont, the voice of a maid ca from behind her, and Mu Mingtang imdiately held the aromatic ball with her backhand and hid it in her palm.
She turned around, and a maid in cyan coloured clothes stood at the door, with her head lowered, she asked pleasingly: "Princess Consort, the kitchen has just sent soone to ask, when should lunch be sent over as all preparations have been done?"
Mu Mingtang stealthily placed the aromatic ball in her sleeve, and said, "Now then, you can inform them to set up the dining table."
"Yes." After the maid said this, she then left respectfully. Mu Mingtang wasn’t sure whether it was her own illusion, but she felt that the maid took a quick glance at her sleeve before stepping back.
After this aromatic ball incident, Mu Mingtang imdiately recalled another strange event. It was quite the coincidence that she originally planned to go to Xiangguo Temple yesterday, but later thought it was too ti-consuming to head out, so she gave up on the idea. If she really went out as planned, she would definitely not return for a while. In other words, when Xie Xuanchen turned manic, she would still be outside of the manor.
Mu Mingtang was drenched in a cold sweat from fright. As there was sothing on her mind, Mu Mingtang couldn't help but think about the aromatic ball when they were having lunch. The food was tasteless to her. When the dishes were removed from the table, Mu Mingtang made up her mind that in the afternoon, she would head to the imperial physician so that he could take a look at the spices in the aromatic ball.
Just treat it as if she was being overly sensitive, it's best if nothing was wrong, and this would just give herself a peace of mind.
When Xie Xuanchen woke up at noon, he found that Mu Mingtang was unusually quiet and obviously worried. Xie Xuanchen asked: "What's wrong?"

Mu Mingtang seed to hesitate when she got her hands on the item, Xie Xuanchen had already sat up, his expression was calm and cold, and gave off a totally different vibe from his usual self: "I'm fine, bring it over."
Mu Mingtang could only suppress her worries and handed it to him. When Xie Xuanchen got a hold of it, he turned it between his fingers, and suddenly moved it towards the tip of his nose. Mu Mingtang was shocked, and quickly stopped him: "It’s dangerous! The imperial physician hasn't inspected it yet."
Xie Xuanchen asked: "Did you summon the imperial physician?"
"Not yet. However, I plan to secretly let Imperial Physician Zhang take a look at it this afternoon."
Just as Mu Mingtang finished, the sound of footsteps could be heard from the outside. The maid yelled in a distance with much distress: "Princess Consort, sothing terrible has happened. Soone drowned to death in the garden!"
The maid's voice was not at all soft, and they could hear her clearly from inside the room. Xie Xuanchen laughed and said, "There’s no need for you to ask now, we already have the results."
