Just like raindrops hitting a transparent umbrella, the petals are held back and slide off to the sides.
Fujiwara Reya looked up, the blue gleam faintly glowing above his head.
So it was a barrier, not easy to spot in broad daylight.
As expected of a party hosted by clergy, interesting... Fujiwara Reya chuckled, picking up a whole lobster, intending to sit down to eat.
At this mont, he suddenly heard a greeting, "Good day, Chairman."
He stopped in his tracks, placed the lobster back on the table, and turned around to look in the direction of the voice.
"Chairman, I have sothing to report to you."
Holding a glass of white wine, Director Takeuchi called out to a young lady. She wore a blue short-sleeved dress with a light cream-colored cardigan draped over it, her long hair tied at the back, looking elegant and wise.
"Please go ahead." The young lady smiled warmly.
Then, Director Takeuchi whispered sothing unknown to her, and she turned her head to look at Fujiwara Reya, smiling slightly and nodding, as if gesturing for him to co over.
A matured and charming woman, her first impression was that of a well-maintained noble lady. Upon closer inspection, she bore a strong resemblance to Kasahara Asuka, likely her mother.
"?"
Fujiwara Reya pointed to his own nose.
The young lady nodded again, a gust of wind blew, causing petals to rain down on her smiling face.
Director Takeuchi also noticed Fujiwara Reya, halted his conversation, and his gaze beca sowhat complicated.
Walking on the lawn, Fujiwara Reya walked against the wind towards the two, greeting them with the manner of a junior, "Good day, Director Takeuchi, Chairman Kasahara."
"It’s Mr. Fujiwara, right?" Mrs. Kasahara evaluated him from top to bottom as if determining his worth, her face maintained a smile without any special aning, yet her voice was smooth and her smile gave an impression full of warmth.
"That’s right."
Fujiwara Reya responded obediently.
"Do you know ?" Mrs. Kasahara asked curiously.
Fujiwara Reya shook his head, "Until a second ago, I didn’t."
Mrs. Kasahara looked at him gently, "Then how did you recognize at a glance?"
"When I entered, soone told ," Fujiwara Reya deliberately paused, lowering his eyes shyly, "that the most beautiful woman in this courtyard is the chairman."
No matter what this chairman has in mind, starting with a little flattery surely won’t hurt...
"...the most beautiful woman?" Mrs. Kasahara was slightly stunned, then couldn’t help but laugh, covering her mouth with her hand, her eyes forming pleasing crescent shapes.
"Not necessarily," she joyfully rebutted, "both my daughters are more beautiful than ."
"But they don’t have your elegant temperant," Fujiwara Reya responded, "Besides, you look so young, appearing not a day over 25. Walking down the street with Asuka and her sister, people would think you were three sisters."
Director Takeuchi, feeling a bit sidelined, couldn’t help but muse internally: This kid’s skill at flattery is top-notch, even more shaless than this old fox himself.
"Haha, indeed a clever child." Mrs. Kasahara laughed happily, extending her hand towards him, "Nice to et you, I am actually Asuka’s sister. Please, Mr. Fujiwara, look after us."
"Hello, Sister Kasahara." Fujiwara Reya smiled obediently and shook her hand.
The palm of her hand was warm and slightly damp, very comfortable to hold, he carefully savored the sensation.
Then...
He couldn’t pull his hand back.
"Mr. Fujiwara practices martial arts?" Mrs. Kasahara observed his hand repeatedly.
The skin on the boy’s palms was more delicate than most girls’, slender and well-defined fingers; the palm was slightly sweaty, creating a warm and moist touch, making it difficult to let go.
"Yes."
Fujiwara Reya was a bit surprised inside.
"Lately you’ve been slacking, your palm is not rough at all, you must be slacking off often." Mrs. Kasahara laughed, "But that’s fine, your hands and temperant don’t seem like soone who enjoys fighting, being a musician or artist would suit you better."
Similar remarks were made by Kawashima Miki.
"Busy with livelihood," Fujiwara Reya forced a smile, "no ti to practice."
"Just as Asuka said, you look handso and talented, and very hardworking." Mrs. Kasahara extended a snow-white slender arm, pulling him over to her side, "Stand here next to , no need to be so reserved."
"..."
Fujiwara Reya didn’t expect her to show goodwill.
For a mont, he thought there might be a trap, instinctively going into a guarded state.
"Don’t be nervous, just relax a bit." Mrs. Kasahara sensed the stiffness in his body and gently patted his shoulder, "Think of as your sister, Asuka as a younger sister, and this place as your ho."
The extrely gentle action allowed the person being patted to perceive her genuine warmth. After speaking, she even raised her hand to ruffle the boy’s hair.
Large.
Mature lady.
Wealthy and kind.
For the sake of this young and beautiful wife, Fujiwara Reya suddenly thought that this junior Asuka might be worth getting along with.
"Right," Mrs. Kasahara seed to just rember soone else was there, glanced back at Director Takeuchi and smiled gently, "Continue with what you were saying just now."
Director Takeuchi glanced at Fujiwara Reya, his expression sowhat conflicted.
"It’s fine, let him listen," Mrs. Kasahara said in a tone that didn’t allow for objection.
"Understood."
Director Takeuchi bowed slightly, took a handkerchief from his chest pocket, and wiped his sweat.
