At this mont, Yukino Ritsuko placed her hand on the edge of the bench, leaned over slightly, and asked, "Why are you spacing out?"

Fujiwara Reya had already judged her action from her movents and replied without thinking, "Just thought there were a lot of trees, just taking a look."

As he said this, the corner of his eye didn’t leave her feet.

The simple-minded Yukino Ritsuko didn’t notice anything strange but was rather satisfied as she gazed at the courtyard, "The trees here are beautiful, right? I take care of them ticulously."

"Spent quite a bit on maintenance costs," Fujiwara Reya replied absent-mindedly.

"It is indeed quite costly, but..." Yukino Ritsuko replied, and then curled her toes with a bit of annoyance, "Can you not be so materialistic!"

"True."

Fujiwara Reya nodded with a slight smile.

Then he rembered sothing and, as if talking to himself, muttered, "If the bakery closes down, Miss Yukino should beco a shoemaker."

"Huh," Yukino Ritsuko seed a bit confused, "Why?"

"Just feel like you’re missing a pair of beautiful shoes," sighed Fujiwara Reya.

"I’ve never had beautiful shoes..." Yukino Ritsuko looked down at her own feet, then smiled, "When I left Hokkaido, my already deceased grandmother took to the town’s shoe shop and bought my first pair. Since those shoes wore out, I stopped caring about whether my shoes were beautiful or not, as long as they fit."

Fujiwara Reya looked up at her, "That’s why you should beco a shoemaker!"

Yukino Ritsuko asked puzzled, "Why not just buy a pair?"

"Shoes bought on the street wouldn’t match your feet, Miss Yukino. But custom-made ones are expensive, so you need to make them yourself." Fujiwara Reya said seriously.

"Just work hard to earn money!" Yukino Ritsuko clenched her little fists.

"So materialistic," Fujiwara Reya replied with her own words.

The two shared a knowing smile.

Thunder rumbled faintly in the distance, the wind blowing past, and dense water droplets fell into the small pond, creating ripples.

Yukino Ritsuko shifted her gaze to the water’s surface and took a sip of beer. Fujiwara Reya stretched his legs freely, aimlessly taking in the scenery and listening to the rhythm of raindrops falling from the pavilion, a quite pleasant sound.

After watching the scenery for a while and listening to the rain, Yukino Ritsuko continued drinking her beer.

Fujiwara Reya observed her slender fingers holding the beer can.

Liquefied droplets slid through her fingers, dripping to the ground along with rainwater.

Noticing his gaze, Yukino Ritsuko turned her head and asked, "Want a beer?"

"Yes."

"How co you, a high school student, drink beer all the ti..." Yukino Ritsuko pushed a can towards him.

Fujiwara Reya picked it up and took a couple of sips.

Ice-cold beer slid down smoothly, refreshing and cool.

"Does Miss Yukino also like drinking?" Fujiwara Reya asked.

"Not particularly; the taste isn’t good or bad..." Yukino Ritsuko raised her eyes to the leaves above the pavilion and then, as if rembering sothing, said, "It’s just like life."

"What?"

"Finding sothing worth savoring in a daily routine neither good nor bad, that’s life. Miss Yukino’s expression seed as if she had brewed a pot of hearty chicken soup for the soul, so she showed a proud expression and looked at Fujiwara Reya, "How about that? I spoke wonderfully, didn’t I? Like sothing only a great writer would say? And you say I’m a silly woman..."

"That sounds like sothing Takeshi Kitano would say!" Fujiwara Reya praised.

Yukino Ritsuko happily swung her white legs, her gaze shifted to the rainy sky above, "Who is Takeshi Kitano?"

At this mont, with only a pretty face, her deanor and gestures were no different from a child... Fujiwara Reya appreciated her childlike deanor and chatted with her.

"Takeshi Kitano is just an old guy."

"Does he write or make movies?"

"He makes movies. Also writes a bit, plays so music."

"Music?"

"Yeah, want to hear so?"

"Sure."

"Finish the beer, then give the empty can."

Yukino Ritsuko finished her beer and handed the can to him.

"Let think..." With two empty beer cans in his hand, Fujiwara Reya tapped them to find a rhythm. Then a flash of inspiration struck him, "Let’s do ’Asakusa Boy’!"

The rain dripped and pattered down, creating a natural accompanint, as the boy’s pure and emotional voice slowly unfolded.

"So good! So good!" Yukino Ritsuko clapped her little hands, her eyes reflecting the green leaves and morning light, "It has a strangely nostalgic vibe, as if a forty-year-old uncle were singing it."

"I could make money with my singing," Fujiwara Reya said proudly.

"Haha." Yukino Ritsuko felt very happy, holding up chocolate from the bench with both hands, "Here, have so chocolate."
