Chapter 993: Chapter 994: Wandering Hero_1 Chapter 993: Chapter 994: Wandering Hero_1 The tavern wasn’t just a place for recruiting heroes; ordinary humans and even soldiers from the castles would also drop by for a drink and so relaxation when they had nothing else to do.

Song Jian entered the tavern and surveyed the noisy environnt. With Tuya’s reminder, he spotted three recruitable heroes in the tavern.

To tell the truth, it was hard to distinguish their identities from their appearances.

Among these individuals were a middle-aged man with two small mustaches, a strange man who wore a green outfit from head to toe, even his hat was green, and a fat man whose body shone blue, with streaks of electricity occasionally sparking off him.

The first two n looked human, while the last blue fat guy seed to be an elental being, which puzzled Song Jian. Wasn’t it said that you could only recruit heroes from your own faction in the tavern?

Perhaps sensing Song Jian’s confusion, Tuya whispered in his ear, “That is a powerful wanderer hero. Generally speaking, taverns have a very small chance of featuring wanderer heroes. They’re often much stronger than heroes from one’s own faction, but they’re difficult to recruit; you must complete their challenges…”

“Challenges, huh? Forget that,” Song Jian withdrew his gaze from the blue fat man. This world was not his Main World, and he didn’t plan to continue developing here. As long as he completed the assessnt task, he probably wouldn’t appear in this world again.

Song Jian first approached the table of the man with the two small mustaches. Among the three, only this man gave him the sense of a pure human. The other man, though also human, harbored a powerful force within him that exuded a tranquil, forest-like essence, clearly not sothing a human would possess.

“He must have so hidden bloodline from another race, just not yet manifested,” Song Jian thought to himself.

“Hello, I am the lord of this castle. Would you be interested in joining my forces?” Song Jian asked the middle-aged man with the mustaches.

“Not interested,” the middle-aged man replied without even looking up.

Song Jian: “…”

Wasn’t it said that recruiting heroes from one’s own faction was supposed to be simple? What’s with the imdiate rejection?

“It’s okay, my lord. Every hero has their own personality and temperant. Maybe your personalities just don’t match…” Tuya consoled him from the side.

“Personalities don’t match? I’m not on a blind date looking for a wife!” Song Jian couldn’t help but complain inwardly. But in fact, recruiting heroes in a tavern was indeed sowhat similar to matchmaking. Sotis, these heroes who joined your ranks could even be far more reliable than a wife…

Song Jian didn’t say anything, just stood up and walked over to the table of the man dressed in green, wearing a green hat.

But soon, he stood up from the table, his expression even uglier than before.

“My lord, this hero possesses Elf blood and is a strong hero. If an Elf lord were recruiting him, it would be quite easy, but for a human lord, the chances are very slim,” Tuya explained at his side.

Song Jian could clearly sense the comforting intention in their words and nodded slightly before heading towards the third person, who was radiating blue light and occasionally flickering with electricity, a blue fatty.

The blue fatty seed sowhat bored in the tavern; the other patrons dared not approach it, and even the tavern’s servers were avoiding it, unwilling to co forward to serve. Consequently, after sitting for so long, not even a cup of water sat before it.

“Waitress, bring us two cups of your finest wine,” Song Jian called out loudly as soon as he sat down. He suddenly realized that recruiting heroes was actually quite similar to how he had dealt with professional ntors before: it was best to start with a personal connection. If he could beco familiar with them first and then bring up the recruitnt, it would likely be much easier.

“You are truly a kind lord!” The blue fatty said with a face full of gratitude. “My na is Solum, and I’m searching for a person nad Wenge Magnus. I have been through many castles, but I still haven’t found any trace of him…”

Upon hearing this, Song Jian’s heart sank. The task of recruiting this hero wouldn’t be to help him find this person nad Wenge, would it? And even if he found him, what if that person was also a lord? Then wouldn’t all his efforts be in vain?

As he continued to listen to the blue fatty, nad Solum, it turned out that it had been sealed inside a crystal bottle for over a thousand years. It was Wenge who had saved it, freeing it from the bottle. At that ti, because it had been asleep for over a thousand years, it was sowhat confused and only managed to ask the savior for his na before letting him leave.

When Solum was fully awake, it realized that it might have missed sothing. How could it let soone who had saved it leave so easily?

Solum felt grateful to the one who had saved it and swore in its heart to be forever loyal to him. But after saving Solum, that person left, and so Solum set out to track down his savior.

After hearing Solum’s story, Song Jian imdiately realized that recruiting this hero was going to be an impossible task. However, it also showed how strong this seemingly mythical hero was.

The blue fatty was unguarded and quite talkative. Song Jian ended up chatting with it for over an hour and they both enjoyed the conversation imnsely.

Just then, the tavern’s door was pushed open with a “bang,” and Catherine walked in with a look of reproach on her face.

“While I’m hard at work capturing resource points, you’re here drinking and chatting?” Catherine approached Song Jian and exclaid loudly.

“Oh, Catherine, you’ve worked hard. Look, I haven’t been idle either. I’m here recruiting heroes to help lighten your load,” Song Jian said with a smile, pointing at Tuya. “This is my newly recruited mage hero, Tuya. He’s a forbidden spell mage. We’ve just occupied an Earth Elental Temple. Tuya, this is Catherine, a female knight and also the first hero under my command.”

After exchanging a glance, Catherine and Tuya saluted each other. Before either had a chance to speak, the hero with a small mustache at a nearby table suddenly stood up, approached Catherine, and said, “Your Highness, the King is very concerned about you. He hopes that you can return to the palace imdiately; I ca to escort you back.”

“Who are you?” Catherine’s face changed dramatically as she turned and scrutinized the man.

The middle-aged man looked stunned and a bitter expression crossed his face as he said, “Your Highness, my na is Ollin, and I am your archery instructor.”
