Chapter 821: Chapter 822 Zhao Yu_1
“Zhao Yu, how did he even get into this ga?” Song Jian’s face looked terrible as he stared at that familiar figure in the distance. Back when he was a salesman in the real world, Zhao Yu had a pretty good relationship with him and often helped him out, making him Song Jian’s first friend after graduation;
After entering this ga, Song Jian’s relationship with Zhao Yu gradually faded, and now in the real world, they seed to be capturing players like them who entered the ga. Song Jian further distanced himself from Zhao Yu to avoid getting him involved.
Unexpectedly, he ran into Zhao Yu here today. From his appearance, Zhao Yu must have not been in the ga for long, only level twelve by now. However, his profession seed not too shabby, a rare one at that;
The Jackal Wolfman Cave was a level ten dungeon, where not a few level ten blue leather equipnt were produced. It looked like Zhao Yu was planning to head to this dungeon to grind for so gear;
But seeing him standing there alone, with no team to join him, it seed he wasn’t doing so well either;
“Hey, Zhao Yu, haven’t found a team yet, huh? As a rich second-generation in the real world, can’t you just buy so Doomsday Coins, get yourself a better weapon? Otherwise, with your range, it’s going to be tough for any team to want you!” a warrior carrying a double-handed axe walked up to Zhao Yu, sneered, and shouted loudly.
...
“Hmph, Guo Qiang, I have a rare profession. Once I gear up, even if you beg to join your team, I won’t!” Zhao Yu retorted loudly.
“Give it a rest. With that little range of yours, I’d rather team up with a thief, or a warrior.” Guo Qiang said with a cold snort: “Other archer professions, although they deal less damage than you, have a longer range, man. In a dungeon, they can even lure monsters. But you? Asking you to lure monsters is less useful than having a warrior throw knives!”
The Dark Night Hunter class was sowhat awkward—although it was a ranged class, it had only half the range of regular archer classes. While its attack was marginally higher, it wasn’t so high as to be a ga-changer. The difference was at most that between the sa-level blue and green weapons. Compared to a mage class, it still fell short, and even compared to thieves, it was less desirable. Thieves, after all, could scout and unlock treasure chests in dungeons, making them way more valuable than a Dark Night Hunter.
This made it extrely difficult for Zhao Yu to find a dungeon raiding team; sotis, he would shout for an hour or two without being able to get into a dungeon to level up.
“Hmph, Guo Qiang, don’t look down on . Once I level up, taking you down will be a matter of minutes,” Zhao Yu said defiantly.
“Hahaha, sure, sure, I’ll be waiting. Let’s see when you can take down!” Guo Qiang laughed heartily, patted Zhao Yu on the shoulder, and left with a group of teammates, obviously not taking Zhao Yu seriously;
A trace of humiliated anger flashed in Zhao Yu’s eyes. He took a deep breath and continued to loudly call out for a team;
“Zhao Yu!” Song Jian started walking towards Zhao Yu. He had stayed away from Zhao Yu before so as not to cause him trouble, but seeing that he had also entered into this perilous ga, Song Jian felt he naturally had to lend a hand to his friend.
At the sound of soone calling him, Zhao Yu imdiately brightened up, turned around, and shouted, “Hey, team up… Song Jian?”
Seeing Song Jian in his glamorous equipnt, Zhao Yu couldn’t quite believe his eyes and even rubbed them vigorously;
“Holy smokes, the number one on the level glory leaderboard is really you? I thought soone just shared your na!” Zhao Yu stared at Song Jian’s equipnt and exclaid in amazent;
Although Song Jian had already turned off the golden glow of the Emperor Ant Suit, Zhao Yu imdiately recognized the design and quality of the gear Song Jian wore, which was undoubtedly high;
Thinking of the exact sa na on the level leaderboard, Zhao Yu suddenly realized that his forr colleague had now skyrocketed to success.
“When did you get into this ga, and how?” Song Jian pulled Zhao Yu along toward the pet shop;
“Man, don’t even ntion it. I was out for a al and ran into soone handing out flyers. I just felt sorry for the old man, grabbed one casually, and threw it in the car. And then…” Zhao Yu slapped his head, his face full of regret, “I haven’t been in here long, just made it to level ten. I didn’t dare to build a safe house in the wilderness, so I could only buy a residence in the City of Hope to use as a safe house. My God, the houses in this ga are way more expensive than in the real world, a tiny pigeonhole of fifty to sixty square ters actually cost three hundred thousand Doomsday Coins!”
With a look full of hatred for profiteers, Zhao Yu continued, “For this pigeonhole, not only did I spend all my savings in the ga, but I also used up all my spending money in the real world. The exchange rate between Doomsday Coins and RMB is also outrageously high, over two hundred RMB for just one Doomsday Coin!”
Song Jian was shocked. Doomsday Coins are so expensive now? Weren’t they one hundred RMB per Doomsday Coin before? How could it have shot up so much in just a few days;
All the way, Song Jian listened to Zhao Yu’s complaints. Shortly after, the three of them arrived at a shop. At the entrance of this shop, there were three or four cages with so combat pet cubs inside. Although these cubs were only of white quality, they all looked promising: a pure white tiger, a red fox with two tails, and a juvenile eagle whose feathers shone with a tallic luster—it all appeared to have great potential;
Many players were gathered at the entrance of the pet shop, continuously checking the attributes of these pets and discussing amongst themselves;
“Song Jian, are you really the number one on the level leaderboard? Already at level thirty-eight?” Zhao Yu asked in surprise;
“Yeah!” Song Jian nodded and said, “Let’s go in and have a look. If you fancy any combat pet, I’ll give it to you as a gift. Then I’ll call so brothers to help you level up and get your level up as soon as possible!”
“What, are you serious?” Zhao Yu asked, his face bright with surprise;
“Of course, when have I ever not ant what I said?” Song Jian replied with a smile;
Wang Qi smiled quietly to himself, following behind Song Jian as they entered the pet shop;
Inside the pet shop, two NPC salespeople were introducing combat pets to several players. Another girl, with fiery red hair, was lounging in a rocking chair, looking bored as she idly flipped through the pages of a book;
When the girl noticed Song Jian and his companions enter, she glanced over casually but her eyes quickly locked onto Wang Qi. She hurriedly stood up, her face full of smiles, walking over to Wang Qi;
“Lord Mayor, what brings you to my humble shop today? Ha ha, if there’s anything you need, just send soone to inform us. Why bother coming here yourself!” The girl laughed rrily, leaning in close to Wang Qi;
