Chapter 1304: Chapter 1306: Centaur Chapter 1304: Chapter 1306: Centaur Leaving the Dragon Bone Wasteland, Song Jian flew toward the direction of the City of Hope. The speed of his Sword Flight Art was faster than that of the Black Dragon, but the comfort couldn’t compare to riding the Black Dragon.

Although he didn’t know the way back, Song Jian still rembered the general direction. He might fly off-course, but now he could only wait for the Black Dragon Kamata to wake up before correcting their path.

“Should take no more than half a day for her to co around, right?” Song Jian glanced at the Black Dragon deep in slumber within the Pet Space and thought to himself.

However, Song Jian clearly overestimated the Black Dragon’s tolerance for alcohol. Ten hours later, the Black Dragon Kamata finally woke up from her deep sleep. Upon receiving a system notification, Song Jian hastily summoned her from the Pet Space. The girl with black hair sat on the ground, rubbed her eyes, and looked at Song Jian with so confusion, as if trying to rember who this human was!

“Are you awake?” Song Jian waved his hand in front of her, which the groggy Black Dragon swatted away.

Due to the effects of the Jade Liquid Wine, the intimacy between the Black Dragon and Song Jian had increased to eighty points. After swatting away the hand that obstructed her view, the Black Dragon recognized Song Jian, rolled her eyes at him, stood up, and began to look around at their surroundings.

At that mont, they stood in a vast prairie, where the lush green grass had grown waist-high. Surprise flickered in the eyes of the Black Dragon Kamata, “How did you end up here?”

Song Jian also rembered that they hadn’t passed through a prairie on their way there. It seed he had indeed taken the wrong path and couldn’t help but feel a bit embarrassed as he said, “I finished my trial and was planning to return to the City of Hope, but I don’t rember the way very well…”

“Did we veer off course by a lot?” Song Jian looked around and asked.

“Not by much, just over a hundred kiloters. This is the Saqin’er Prairie, ruled by a group of centaurs. Their ruler is King Saqin’er, who possesses the strength of the Legendary Realm…” the Black Dragon stated expressionlessly.

“A King Level BOSS…” Song Jian’s brow furrowed. With his current strength, he could exchange blows with a King Level BOSS for a few rounds, but claiming a sure victory was impossible. Although he had the potential to injure the opponent, the opponent also had the power to kill Song Jian.

“The main issue is my level is too low. If I could pass the third-order combat power assessnt, I wouldn’t fear a general King Level power…” Song Jian thought to himself: “If I can reach the peak of third-order combat strength, level 120, I’ll be able to put on the Swordsman Suit. By then, with my strength, I’ll likely be able to defeat most King Level BOSSes.”

“We should hurry and leave this place, to get back to the City of Hope,” Song Jian suggested.

“I am afraid that’s not possible anymore, we seem to be surrounded!” Black Dragon looked around and a slight smile appeared on her face.

At this ti, dense figures of centaurs appeared less than a hundred ters from them.

These centaurs had the upper bodies of humans and the lower bodies of horses. They were all around level 100, looking very robust, clad in only simple leather armor, and their faces bore fierce expressions.

They moved through the prairie in complete silence. If the Black Dragon hadn’t noticed them, Song Jian probably wouldn’t have detected them until they were within fifty ters.

Black Dragon Kamata, now possessing the strength of a Sovereign Level BOSS and her level having soared to ninety-nine, ant that, regardless of their number, these centaurs were no match for her. Most importantly, the Black Dragon could fly, while these centaurs, despite their swiftness, lacked the ability to fly.

“Let’s go. Let’s not complicate things further!” Seeing these level 100 ordinary monsters around him, Song Jian shook his head slightly and said.

These centaurs might be nurous, but they were just ordinary monsters. To Song Jian, such creatures, no matter how many, posed no threat to him.

Song Jian was yearning to return as swiftly as possible to the City of Hope and had no intention to engage in combat.

“Alright then, let’s fly in that direction. In at most five or six days, we should be able to enter the City of Hope’s vicinity…” the Black Dragon said, pointing to the left.

The Black Dragon, having leveled up, had seen a significant enhancent in all attributes. The journey here took about ten days, but now the return trip would take no more than a week.

The centaurs surrounding them seed to realize they had been spotted and thus stopped hiding, shouting loudly as they rapidly ran towards them.

These centaurs were incredibly fast. In a matter of seconds, they had sprinted dozens of ters, and each was carrying several long spears. Upon reaching an appropriate distance, they each grabbed a spear and hurled it towards Song Jian and Kamata.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh~

Hundreds of long spears ca whistling through the air towards Song Jian and Kamata, nearly obscuring a large area around. Any ordinary person faced with such an assault wouldn’t even have a chance to escape.

Song Jian summoned the Sky-breaking Sword and struck at a spear heading his way, emitting a “clang” sound as if tal clashed with tal, which made Song Jian hesitate in surprise.

After all, those spears appeared to be wooden, and with the sharpness of the Sky-breaking Sword, he should have easily sliced through them. However, the sword seed to strike alloy steel, leaving only a shallow mark on the spear.

If it weren’t for the sheer number of attacks, Song Jian would have wanted to pick up a spear and examine it closely.

Roar~

With an angry roar, Kamata next to him suddenly changed form, reverting to the Giant Dragon shape. With a flap of its wings, a strong gush of air burst forth, sending the incoming spears flying away.

Even the few that struck the Black Dragon’s body were unable to penetrate its defense. The sturdy dragon scales deflected all the spears.

Seizing the mont, Song Jian picked up a spear. Holding it in his hand, he felt a heavy sensation. Given Song Jian’s strength attribute was nearing three hundred points, he wouldn’t usually feel this way even when holding sothing weighing over a hundred pounds.

“At least three hundred pounds, and yet, this material looks like wood…” Song Jian said, sowhat astonished by the spear in his hand. After a mont’s thought, he gathered seven or eight spears from around him and stashed them in his pack.

By then, the Black Dragon had already unleashed its scorching Dragon Breath on the approaching centaurs. Song Jian frowned, mounted the Black Dragon’s back, and with a loud shout, he said, “Forget about them, let’s get out of here.”

Normal centaurs touched by the Dragon Breath, even if not killed instantly, would find the fiery flas clinging to their bodies like maggots in dead flesh, feeding on their at and burning continuously until nothing but ashes remained.

Soon, over a dozen centaurs were turned into moving torches, screaming and running about. In Kamata the Black Dragon’s dark gold eyes, a hint of bloodthirstiness flashed. It ignored Song Jian’s roar and, flapping its wings, charged into the herd of centaurs.

In an instant, like a tiger among sheep, the Black Dragon slaughtered wildly among the centaurs. Its wings, claws, fangs—every part of the Black Dragon’s body could beco a weapon. Combined with the Dragon Breath it sprayed at will, the centaurs had no power to fight back and were quickly decimated, the majority killed or wounded. The remaining centaurs, terror-stricken, scattered in every direction.
