Fang Ye and the Eurasian eagle-owl looked at each other and he sighed, "Well, buddy, are you planning to completely mooch off ?"
The Eurasian eagle-owl ◉∀◉: "Whoo~ Whoo~"
The Eurasian eagle-owl just wanted to eat at; what bad intentions could it possibly have?
It stubbornly stood on the tree trunk, endlessly waiting for soone to bring it at.
Fang Ye, feeling helpless, saw that if he didn't feed it, it would actually dare to starve itself to death.
So he said to He Yifei, "It seems we really need to take care of it in our zoo for now! Let's take care of it first and gradually give it so wild training. We can't let it depend on people like this all the ti."
He Yifei scratched his head and suggested, "Since we're going to keep it for now, why not give it a na?"
Fang Ye thought for a mont and said, "With such a stubborn personality, we might as well call it Hard Rock or Stubborn Bull. Or, since it likes to eat so much and is mooching off us, how about calling it Rice Bucket?"
He looked at the Eurasian eagle-owl with its dopey expression, scratched the white down under its neck with the back of his index finger, and gently scratched past the sweater's black pattern on its chest, asking, "Well, what do you think, Rice Bucket?"
Ah, since it's beco dependent anyway, might as well give it a pet.
As the Eurasian eagle-owl was petted, it tilted its head to look at him, "Koo koo koo~"
It seed to be quite comfortable being stroked.
He Yifei hastily advised, "Boss, that na isn't nice to hear! It won't be convenient when we introduce it to the visitors later."
Fang Ye thought about it and said, "Then how about we call you Cute Foodie? No, never mind, let's call you Chocolate."
At that mont, Bao ca over with a bowl of cut at, "Boss, here you go, and here's the tongs!"
"Alright, thank you!"
It was also rather tiring keeping one arm up, especially with a bird weighing over three pounds standing on it. So, Fang Ye put Chocolate down on the lawn, shook his arm, and relieved so of the soreness.
Chocolate looked up at him, confused, "Whoo~ Whoo~" crying out, why was it put it down, did he not want it anymore?
Experience tales at empire
"Oh dear." Fang Ye picked up a piece of at with the tongs and started feeding it.
The Eurasian eagle-owl seed to have not eaten in days, having digested all the at it had previously eaten and was truly very hungry. It clamped the at in its mouth and imdiately threw its head back, swallowing the at, followed by two quick bites before its throat ceased moving.
It only took a second or two to eat a not-so-small piece of at, giving the impression of a famished recruit who rushes into the cafeteria after military training, devouring food ravenously!
When tilting its head back to swallow the at, its white nictitating mbrane also flipped up, making it look as if it were rolling its eyes in delight.
After eating, it stared intently at Fang Ye, or more precisely, at the at held in his tongs, opening its beak and eagerly stretching its head forward to bite off and swallow the at.
The speed at which Fang Ye was picking up at couldn't keep up with Chocolate's speed of consumption!
No sooner had it arrived than it was gone in two gulps; it was like the reincarnation of a starving ghost.
Fang Ye even started worrying that it might choke from eating too quickly and slowed down the pace a bit, clamping a piece of at and waiting a few seconds before passing it over, "Hey, don't be in such a hurry, you won't miss out, take your ti eating!"
Chocolate, however, was getting impatient!
Its eyes were completely filled with the delicious at, and it bit down on the at without letting go, even clenching the tongs in its beak as well.
As Fang Ye tried to pull the tongs away, Chocolate clung to them, tugging in his direction like a ga of tug-of-war. Unable to reach the at, its eyes widened in despair, letting out frantic cries and emitting a series of sharp, faint squawks!
"Yee yee yee! Yee yee yee!"
Fang Ye pulled at the tongs, rather exasperated, thinking what a silly bird: "Oh co on, you dumb bird, let go first! If you let go, you'll get to eat!"
He Yifei shook his head ruefully, comnting, "Look at how famished the kid is!"
Fang Ye commanded, "Don't just stand there, go get so water to help it!"
"Oh, okay!" He Yifei quickly agreed and ran off to fetch so water.
Although there should be dew on the leaves at night, it probably wouldn't be enough for an Eagle-owl as big as Chocolate, who is also quite stubborn and stayed on the trunk without going anywhere else, surely feeling extrely thirsty.
He Yifei filled a cup with water from the peafowl enclosure and returned in less than two minutes.
By that ti, Chocolate had already eaten more than a dozen pieces of at and had finally slowed down from the initial frenzied gobbling, chewing on a piece of at for quite a while without swallowing it.
"Did it get stuck?" He Yifei guessed, handing over the water cup with a pleasing smile on his face, "Here, Chocolate, have so water!"
"Could it be that eating so much at once tired it out, and now its cheeks are out of strength?" Fang Ye carefully observed, noticing the at dangling and the owl's stupefied expression; it didn't seem like it was choking. Could it be that it had eaten so much that its mind went blank and it forgot how to eat at?
Seeing a water cup jiggling in front of him, Chocolate snapped out of its dazed state, glanced at He Yifei, sized him up for a bit, and continued to nibble a few bites before swallowing the at, then turned to look at Fang Ye!
He Yifei said, sowhat surprised, "Strange, aren't you thirsty?"
He had thought that Chocolate would drink water eagerly, just like how it ate the at.
Fang Ye: "Hmm... pass the water cup."
Upon receiving the water cup, Chocolate imdiately perked up its behind, thrust its head into the cup, and slurped several gulps, before lifting its head up, blinking its eyes and rolling them, with water droplets falling from the dark, hook-shaped beak tip onto the grass.
Then it kept lowering its head to drink a few more sips, until it finally seed satisfied and comfortable, looking around with its head turning left and right.
"Damn!"
He Yifei clutched his chest, looking deeply hurt as if taking a hit, thinking, could it be so cautious that it doesn't even drink water I brought over? Or do I look like a villain?
"Hey, Chocolate, I am in charge of many birds here, can you show so respect?"
Chocolate turned its head 90 degrees to look at him, its bright eyes seemingly inquiring: Birds? What birds, are they tasty?
Fang Ye patted He Yifei's shoulder, comforting him: "Don't overthink it, it's just that I'm a bit more handso."
But after giving it so thought, he realized this might be sowhat discouraging to his employee.
So, he brought his index finger and thumb close together, gesturing: "Of course, you are also handso, only a tiny bit less than , I would say."
He Yifei: ...
Alright then, you're the boss, what you say goes.
After drinking water and resting a mont, Chocolate regained energy and resud eating the at. Piece by piece, the at disappeared into its stomach, and half a small iron basin of at vanished like magic.
[Mood: Satisfied]
Fang Ye scratched Chocolate's thick chest feathers and smiled, "Ah, full now, are we?"
Chocolate responded with delight, "Hoo~ hoo~"
The call sounded a bit more vigorous, perhaps because it had eaten its fill and quenched its thirst.
Fang Ye placed Chocolate on his shoulder, "Since Chocolate doesn't feel like flying, I'll put it on the tree next to our office building for the next few days, which is convenient for taking care of it. Once the animal hospital is built, we can move it there."
The animal hospital should be finished these few days! That includes the small villa he was building for himself.
The new office building, however, would take a bit longer.
He Yifei pondered, why does this look feel familiar?
Suddenly clapping his hands, he excitedly said, "Boss, with an owl on your shoulder and riding a White Tiger, you could cosplay as Tyrande!"
And being an Archdruid fits perfectly too! It's simply perfect.
Fang Ye chuckled coldly, "Chocolate, let's go. Let's ignore this fool."
