He saw in Wei Hu’s eyes not only disbelief but more so a ferocity born of being a survivor, clearly the result of long pursuing darkness and being trapped within it in this apocalyptic era.

As for the other survivors, they seed numb from the oppression they had endured.

Fortunately, he had arrived.

Maybe a bit late, but certainly not too late.

"Bullshit," roared Wei Hu, "I get it now, you must’ve been nearby all this ti, you’re ssing with , trying to scare , aren’t you? You really think I, Wei Hu, am easily frightened? Damn it, kill him for ."

With his roar, the numb, oppressed survivors didn’t move, as if they were hoping for Lin Fan’s victory.

But there were still those among the survivors who followed Wei Hu in wickedness.

A burly man wielding a firefighter’s axe didn’t think twice, charging straight for Lin Fan’s head with a swing.

Facing the sudden attack and feeling his life threatened,

he rely glanced at the assailant and knew it was ti to defend himself.

He kicked out.

Bang!

A dark shadow was instantly sent flying backward, crashing violently into the wall; everyone stared, wide-eyed, at the figure now embedded motionless in the wall, genuinely flabbergasted.

"I hope you can be sensible. If you attack , I will defend myself,"

Lin Fan said softly.

His kick had indeed been very effective, indeed subduing several survivors who had appeared eager to make their move.

If the survivors from Sunshine Shelter knew that there were still people daring to confront Lin Fan, they’d exclaim in shock, thinking, "Is there sothing wrong with their brain?"

Had they not read the "Zombie Album"?

If you have, how could you still dare to take action?

"You..." Wei Hu pointed at Lin Fan with a chill in his heart, knowing he might be dood.

Lin Fan looked at him, "An Awakener?"

He felt there was sothing unusual about Wei Hu, and thought of Awakeners... not unfamilair, but it had been a long ti since he’d encountered one doing evil.

"Co with to Sunshine Shelter in Huang City, Officer Huang would probably like to have a chat with you."

The flesh and blood of Awakeners were great nourishnt for Officer Huang.

No, it was about making Officer Huang punish those villains of the apocalypse; the kick that had just killed a man was in self-defense when he was attacked, an unavoidable action.

From the outbreak of the apocalypse to now, he had never once hard anyone intentionally; it had all been in self-defense.

Wei Hu, clenching his fists and looking at Lin Fan, who carried a sword on his back, really wanted to stand up to him, but for so reason, he didn’t have the courage, as if he was suppressed by an imnse pressure.

Lin Fan approached Xiao Tao, helped him up, and said gently, "Are you alright?"

"I’m fine," Xiao Tao replied weakly.

His body was in pain, the pain of being beaten.

Xiao Tao was still sowhat dazed.

He really hadn’t expected the other party to arrive so quickly, it felt like a dream, too surreal to believe.

"It’s okay now. I can imagine what you’ve all been through during this ti. I’m here to take you to Sunshine Shelter, where you’ll be able to live a normal and ordinary life once we arrive,"

Lin Fan knew that everyone who was alive craved a peaceful life.

"Mhm."

Xiao Tao nodded heavily.

This was the most comforting thing he had heard since the apocalypse began.

There were no excessive emotional fluctuations, but every word, when heard in the heart, provided a sense of reassurance.

Lin Fan found a rope to tie Wei Hu’s wrists, gently patting his shoulder, "Don’t worry, I won’t do anything to you. Once we get to the shelter, I’ll hand you over to Officer Huang."

Wei Hu glared at Lin Fan.

He had read about Officer Huang in the "Zombie Album," could that be the zombie in question?

The thought of it being a zombie sent a chill down his spine.

In that mont, Wei Hu thought of various ways to escape, but under Lin Fan’s watchful gaze, he knew it wasn’t the ti.

They left the tunnel base with him.

Since they were in the mountains, there were no large vehicles around. To get them back to Huang City on foot was certainly out of the question. On the road out, Lin Fan chatted with Xiao Tao, inquiring about matters concerning Wei Hu.

Listening to Xiao Tao’s story.

Lin Fan already knew what the outco for Wei Hu would be.

Officer Huang’s tolerance for survivors was quite high.

For those with so moral issues, Officer Huang generally wouldn’t harm them, at most he would show a slight disgust; but if soone had innocent lives on their hands, Officer Huang’s temperant would likely truly bring them down.

At least up to now.

He had not seen any special case among the survivors.

Actually, Lin Fan could have just let Wei Hu be, leaving him to fend for himself here, but he didn’t. Wei Hu was an Awakener, who had been oppressing and persecuting innocent survivors throughout the apocalypse.

If left unattended, more desperate survivors might encounter him, likely leading to greater despair, not to ntion, not all survivors would be as fortunate as Xiao Tao and his companions to receive a satellite phone call.

The result then would naturally be death in despair under oppression.

Soon, he found a bus parked by the roadside, cleared the zombies inside, and asked them to get on.

Xiao Tao and the others were puzzled.

They didn’t know what was happening?

Or were they soon to set off for Huang City on the bus?

It wasn’t until they saw the bus being lifted that they realized that things often weren’t as simple as they seed.

Lin Fan thought that Xiangshan Base wasn’t too far from here.

It happened to be on the way, and the whole point was to check on that survivor, Zhou Peng.

When Lin Fan started running.

The survivors inside the bus exclaid... personally experiencing sothing they would never believe if not experienced firsthand.

When Wei Hu saw the scenery whizzing by, too fast for the naked eye to catch.

His expression was exaggerated, gradually changing, until finally it twisted in despair.

This was beyond what any human could possibly do.

Thinking about this.

He was extrely regretful, wishing he could slap himself twice.

Why did he have to tempt fate and make that call?

If he hadn’t made the provocative call.

None of this would have happened.

Fuck!

With this thought, his gaze turned angrily towards Xiao Tao.

It was all this guy’s fault.
