The War Armor I wore was called the Sunshine War Armor, a na Lin Fan and I had thought up, representing the strength of the Sunshine District shelter, as well as the crystallization of human intelligence combined with zombies.

Your ability is formidable, a kind that can change the situation. If you can accept training and control this War Armor, then you can make it work."

Hearing Gu Hang say these words, Dong Jia looked at him in shock.

"You’re willing to let wear this War Armor?"

She was sowhat surprised, as anyone not blind could see the value of the War Armor in front of her. If people outside knew about it, they would definitely go crazy.

Gu Hang smiled, "The War Armor I’m wearing is not because I want to keep it, but because here in the Sunshine District, apart from Lin Fan, only I can fully unleash its power. Now, with your arrival, I know you’re more suited to wear this War Armor than I am."

Dong Jia looked at Brother Hang with a sense of admiration. "But I’ve only been here a few days, you trust this much?"

Gu Hang said, "Yes, I trust you."

"Why?"

"Because you were brought here by Lin Fan. Anyone he brings, I trust unconditionally."

"What should I do then?"

"Accept my training. I will train you strictly. Although the process will be very tough, the rewards will be substantial, as long as you can keep it up."

What Gu Hang feared most was that Dong Jia might not be able to persist.

After all, she was a woman.

There were understandable reasons.

Dong Jia didn’t speak but was thinking. She had never thought about what she could achieve in this apocalyptic world; her only thought was to stay alive, to live well.

But as Brother Hang spoke to her,

her thoughts quietly changed.

"I think I can keep it up."

She knew everyone here was striving to survive, working hard to build a beautiful shelter. So, she encouraged herself that she could definitely persevere.

Gu Hang smiled lightly, "Go for it, I believe you can do it."

After talking about these things with Dong Jia,

he also breathed a sigh of relief.

The future needed struggle, needed effort. In his heart, Awakeners would definitely be the cornerstone of humanity, perhaps truly only the Awakeners are capable of putting in the effort to defeat the zombies as ti goes on.

"Um... Brother Hang," Dong Jia had a slight sense of expectation.

"Yes, go ahead."

"Can I try on the War Armor now?"

Gu Hang: ...

The street.

Like every other day, after Lin Fan and Gu Hang delivered breakfast to Tenghuang Pharmaceutical, they went out to eliminate zombies, a daily task for him.

Though cutting down zombies was a monotonous task,

for Lin Fan, seeing fewer and fewer zombies in the city gave him an indescribable sense of relief.

He had already heard from Brother Hang that he had talked with Dong Jia, and it went smoothly; she agreed to train, which to Lin Fan, was really a great start.

He also knew that Brother Hang was not greedy for the War Armor. If he encountered the right candidate, Brother Hang would definitely be willing to pass it on.

Coming to a street they had never cleared before,

he was astonished by the sight before him.

The air in the street was filled with a green fog that looked like miasma, not dissipating with the wind but rather staying confined within the area.

"Strange, how could this happen?"

During his ti in the city, he hadn’t encountered this situation before.

"Could it be so special kind of zombie?"

Not long after that thunderstorm,

he and Gu Hang had encountered several special Evolutionary Zombies. They had discussed that zombies were evolving fast, and humans were already struggling to compete. As ti passed, zombies continued to evolve, which was a dire situation.

Lin Fan walked towards the street shrouded in green fog, inhaling once, noticing a sour, rotten sll.

And yet, his body showed no effects.

"I’m fine, maybe because I’m physically stronger. I wonder what would happen to ordinary people if they inhaled this fog."

Walking on,

he stopped; at the front of a shop, there appeared a strange thing, like spore plants, or maybe not. It looked like layers of green flesh overlapping, seeming to breathe, emitting green fog.

"Is this fog being sprayed out by this thing?"

He approached, looked down, and saw spore-flesh covered in thick fluid, dense and disgusting. He drew his sword and slashed the spore-flesh.

Whoosh...

Unknown green fluid flowed, and simultaneously, a burst of fog seed propelled by so force, rushing towards him and instantly enveloping Lin Fan’s face.

"What the hell, this slls awful."

Lin Fan waved his hand, spat a few tis, and checked himself, finding no changes.

"How were these things ford? How could this city let itself be overtaken by them?"

He expressed his dissatisfaction.

"Hehe"

There were low growls of zombies from ahead.

Continuing forward, within the fog, Lin Fan saw a zombie. Just as he thought to draw his sword and kill it, he was shocked by the condition of the zombie before him.

This was just an ordinary zombie, the spore-flesh that he had just seen at the shop front growing on its vicious half-face, with thick fluid flowing down and even occasionally emitting fog.
