Sunshine District.

"Uncle, hello."

Considerate Feifei was heading to Grandma Liang’s house to study. Carrying her backpack, she ran into Lin Fan and greeted him politely.

"Feifei is truly a good child who loves to learn. How are you doing with Grandma Liang? Have you gained anything? Does it feel better than what the teachers at school teach?" Lin Fan was very concerned about Feifei’s studies.

He himself had suffered from not studying enough.

He could only chop zombies with a sword during the apocalypse. If he loved studying, he might have invented things. He could have used his clever little brain to set traps, effortlessly killing the zombies.

Unlike him, who could only rely on brute strength.

Feifei said, "Yes, Grandma Liang explains things very well. Many of the problems I don’t know how to do, she can make understand with just a little hint."

She was still a bit afraid of Uncle Lin in front of her.

She had bought so many test papers.

No matter how hard she tried, she could never finish them all.

And Grandma Liang also gave her howork, half a sheet of math and half a sheet of language arts... in short, a lot. She had to stay up every night until nine o’clock, just like when she used to go to school. Nothing had changed.

"Hmm, that’s good, keep it up. When you finish the test papers, Uncle will buy you more," Lin Fan said as he gently patted Feifei’s little head. He couldn’t guarantee anything else, but when it ca to studies, no matter how poor he was, he would grit his teeth and buy test papers for the child; he absolutely wouldn’t let her suffer.

His words were like a devil’s whisper, scaring Feifei and making her little face turn a bit pale.

If only the space in the stairwell were a bit bigger.

She wanted to dance for Uncle and sing a song.

’Let say thank you, for warming all four seasons with your presence, thank you, I’m grateful to have you...’

She was truly grateful.

Grateful that Uncle let her have howork that she could never finish.

Wuu wuu...

Whenever she thought about this, she wanted to cry.

She really wanted to tell Uncle Lin, "Please don’t buy any more, really, I want to know what life without howork feels like."

"Go to class quickly."

Lin Fan waved his hand.

He approached the community garden, where vegetables had already been planted. With just a little ti, they would flower into miracles.

Sister Li and Grandma Xu were sure to take good care of them.

Breathing in the fresh air.

Without car exhaust emissions, the air was really fresh, with an indescribable taste.

"It’s ti to work out properly."

He always had a good habit of exercising.

The fitness equipnt downstairs was indeed decent.

But today he wanted to go out for a run, for a simple reason, he just felt like running.

Of course, he could run in the district, but what he wanted was to run while enjoying the scenery along the way, which was a very pleasant thing.

He had his whole day planned out very well.

Running, working, eating, working, eating, sleeping.

A seemingly ordinary day, as long as one puts effort into it, can still feel fulfilling. That’s the difference between being serious and not.

Leaving the district, he easily leaped over the gates.

Under normal circumstances.

These two iron doors would definitely not open.

Outside it was a bit dangerous.

Landing steadily, he looked to the left and right, which appeared slightly desolate.

Arriving at the sidewalk, he took a deep breath and started to jog at a slow pace. Then he picked up the tempo. Don’t think that just because there are no cars on the road, you can casually run and race on the road.

It’s a very incorrect behavior, and even children know this.

Although Lin Fan had little formal education, he still understood this principle.

He ran along the sidewalk towards that direction, planning to warm up with a half-hour jog first.

At that mont.

"Good morning..."

Lin Fan passed by a zombie gnawing on a corpse, greeted it with a smile, and then continued to run.

The feeding zombie heard the sound, twisted its head, and imdiately locked its eyes on Lin Fan, spotting fresh flesh bouncing lively in front of it. The zombie roared and, without thought, chased after Lin Fan.

Roaring as it chased.

Any ordinary person seeing this would feel their scalp tingle and sweat all over their body. The sensation of being chased by a zombie was probably more terrifying than encountering a ghost.

The zombie’s speed was very fast, running as frantically as a normal person.

"Never thought that even zombies knew that exercising in the morning was beneficial for health."

Lin Fan was not a man competing for strength, but seeing the zombie trying to chase him, he definitely couldn’t lose face, so naturally, he quickened his pace, always keeping a certain distance from the zombie.

"Let’s exercise by running together, but I feel like you definitely won’t catch up with ," Lin Fan called back.

Roar!

No proper communication was attained.

Instead, it provoked the zombie to let out a roar.

"Truly a zombie with a strong will to live," Lin Fan said with a laugh, feeling refreshed by the run, and his blood flow sped up.

Gradually.

The zombies hidden in the darkness and corners of the streets all heard the sound.

Seeing their kind chasing fresh flesh, they naturally joined the running crowd one by one.

The crowd of running zombies gradually increased in size.

This group of zombies had not beco rotten and unable to move with the passage of ti; on the contrary, each seed lively and powerful, even healthier than healthy people.

"Co on, co on, speed up, keep up with my rhythm, but don’t run too fast. If you fall, it has nothing to do with ," Lin Fan cheered.

Passing street after street.

"Damn... look, soone is being chased by zombies, isn’t the number a bit too much?" In a safe place where survivors were present, originally wanting to check the surroundings, nobody expected to see such a scene.

Their companions ca closer, pulled aside the curtain, and watched the situation outside.

"This guy is dead at, no one could save him."

"You can tell he’s a clever man by the way he runs. Without panic, he maintains a normal state, which is the smartest thing, as chaos would surely lead to problems."

"Hmm, that makes sense."

"Do you think he can get away?"

"Stop dreaming, it’s impossible for him to escape. Human stamina is limited if chased continuously like this, he will eventually run out of steam. Zombie stamina seems infinite, he cannot outrun the zombies."

The group of survivors whispered among themselves.

They had gathered together slowly, sacrificing comrades and also saving so, still retaining the rationality from before the apocalypse. They didn’t think of doing whatever they wanted now that the apocalypse was upon them but united to fight against the zombies together.

Lin Fan didn’t notice this group of survivors.

If he had discovered them.

He would have taken the initiative to greet them, wave, and say, "Hello there."

Running, running.

He saw so zombies gathered ahead, clawing frantically at a roller shutter door, which made a clattering noise from their incessant banging and pounding.

"What are these guys up to?"

Lin Fan wondered, could there be sothing good behind the door attracting this group of zombies?

Not giving it much thought, since the zombies weren’t coming for him—let them bang on their door, and he’d run his steps, they didn’t mix with him.

As for greeting them, forget it.

One must be serious in their endeavors.

If he greeted this group of zombies, it would surely divert their attention and make them run towards him.

Of course, he was bound to pass by, as for whether these zombies would follow him, that was their business.

As he passed by.

He suddenly stopped in his tracks.

He heard from the second floor of the shop, there were sounds of crying.

Listening carefully.

It was actually the sound of a baby.

Could it be that there was a baby inside this store?
