The basketball rolled to his feet as if guided by so sort of navigation.

With the basketball in hand, he pictured a kind of dance that used the ball as a prop, but the thought quickly faded as his basketball skills were lacking to the extre.

Just as he was about to put the basketball back, he thought of the elderly and the tall Feifei.

There weren’t many recreational activities in the residential compound, so he figured it would be good to buy one for them to exercise, and he placed the basketball into the shopping cart.

Just then, a low growl sounded, and he looked up to see a strange zombie appearing out of nowhere, crouched and crawling like an animal.

It was a female zombie wearing a dress, which was hard to distinguish in color due to the bloodstains. Her long hair was filthy, clotted with sticky substances, like shattered flesh and blood.

Roar!

The female zombie hissed, her face hideously contorted. She was different from the others, not lunging at the sight of a living person like a madman would, but rather observing curiously.

"Hello..."

Lin Fan raised his hand, waving in greeting. Friendly greetings were a way of communication between people, and although the other party was a zombie, it didn’t impede communication, similar to how humans talk to animals in a normal tone, often understood by the animals.

He believed zombies could understand, too.

The apocalypse had co.

People were now irritable and unfriendly, which he found very helpless.

As he spoke these words,

Roar!

The female zombie hissed and sped off on all fours, vanishing in an instant. He could hear her moving rapidly behind the shelves, and in the blink of an eye, she appeared in the aisle behind him.

"You’re so fast, were you an athlete before?" Lin Fan asked.

He engaged in a monologue with the zombie.

Since the zombie didn’t initiate an attack on him, he naturally wouldn’t strike first.

He noticed that the strange zombie had very thin legs and knew that won liked having slender legs, preferably long and thin like chopsticks.

Her arms were also thin, the exposed skin showing black veins, giving a bizarre impression.

The female zombie leaped about, climbing on the cabinets, occasionally baring teeth and making vicious noises, then moved quickly again, walking on the shelves as if on flat ground, with a strong sense of balance.

"So fast, faster than any other zombie I’ve encountered," Lin Fan wasn’t stingy with his praise, as complinting often improved a person’s mood.

Therefore, he had once joined a praise group, where everyone was friendly, and he would wake up every morning to see the ssages of praise sent by people in the group.

This made the start of his day much better.

The female zombie seed to be showing off her speed, constantly moving at an incredibly fast pace from here to there and back again.

He watched clearly, no matter how she ran, he could see everything distinctly.

Even, he felt he could run faster than her.

But he didn’t want to say it.

Because he wasn’t an athlete, and being faster than her wasn’t sothing to be proud of. Using his amateur capability to outshine her professional ability, even to be better than her, was hurtful, so he wouldn’t ntion it.

"Hey, I know you’re fast, but you should be aware of your surroundings. You’ve knocked everything off the shelves onto the floor, and what you’re doing..."

Roar!

Before he could finish speaking,

the female zombie lunged toward Lin Fan, her claws swinging, the elongated black fingers looking very sharp.

Thwack!

A sword swung out.

He was calm, with a hint of regret.

At that mont, the female zombie froze as if motionless, splitting open from the forehead, her body bifurcating, with blood spilling all over the ground. The Frost Mourning in his hand felt like it had struck sothing sowhat hard, but he didn’t pay it much mind; it was probably a bone.

[Eliminated an Evolved Speed Type Zombie]

[Points Gained 3]

"The three bodies I just saw must have encountered you, had their heads chopped off by you. Your claws are too sharp, really dangerous."

Lin Fan looked on, shook his head, and continued to push the shopping cart and browse.

The checkout counter.

"I’m done shopping, please check out."

He spoke to the empty checkout counter, talking to himself, not because he was crazy, but because it was a normal behavior, just like soone would say to their reflection in a mirror, "Aren’t I handso?"

He walked into the checkout area, scanning the food he had purchased.

The prices were separate, so items he bought for Sister Li and her daughter, so for the old gentlen. He had all three of their bank cards, so he definitely couldn’t mix up the paynts.

Perhaps everyone seed to get along well.

But such relationships often only last when fair, and when one party feels constantly taken advantage of, the breakup of the relationship is not far off.

He quickly totaled the bills, checked out, and left.

There was quite a lot of stuff, the shopping bags were obviously inadequate, so he had to use the shopping cart from here for now. After delivering the items, he would return the cart. It was just a matter of walking a bit more, not a hassle at all.

Leaving the supermarket, he pushed the cart along the street.

The quiet streets, a lone figure, carrying the hopes of the community’s survivors, occasionally accompanied by the presence of zombies, created a different kind of spark.

Lin Fan was in a good mood, happy. He liked helping others, and although he appeared nonchalant and ordinary in response to Sister Li’s and the four old n’s gratitude, he actually felt quite thrilled inside.

He was still a sensible young man, certainly liking being praised by others.

Who isn’t a baby who likes being praised by others?

But the current Huang City still needed effort. He believed it could return to its forr state. He also had to work hard to earn money, buy a car, live in a big house, and progress towards a better life.

Even if the wind howled and the rain pelted, the sky fell and the earth cracked, and difficulties abounded, he would not give up.

At that mont.

He stopped in his tracks.

Looking at two adjoining storefronts.

Xinhua Bookstore.

A once-famous bookstore that has slowly disappeared with ti. Even if it still exists, it’s only in small storefronts.

The reason he stopped was that this bookstore was different from the surrounding shops.

While the nearby shops were a ss with things scattered all over the place and clutter covering the floor, the books in the bookstore were arranged so neatly.

"Indeed, a book lover, even in the apocalypse, is reluctant to harm books."

Lin Fan mused to himself.

Then he entered the bookstore.

Thinking of Feifei’s situation, she needed to study and do howork to soothe her mind, since it is an apocalypse out there, really chaotic.

But he didn’t want Feifei to be affected by the apocalypse.

Thinking that she could continue as before, finishing school, coming ho to do howork, he picked out a few sets of test papers.

Math, Chinese, Geography, History...

That should be enough.

Once Feifei had finished these test papers, he would co out again to buy her new ones.

It was small change, not worth ntioning, but to see a child continuously improving her knowledge, wasn’t that a very comforting thought?

He smiled looking at these test papers.

Thinking of how excited Feifei would be when she saw them.

She would probably be thrilled.

He could tell at a glance that Feifei was a little girl who loved to study.
