"Brother Hou, what should we do?"

A survivor asked.

He hadn’t expected this situation at all; that guy must have had a hole in his brain. It’s the freaking apocalypse, and he’s still talking about good and bad people. Wouldn’t it be fine as long as we obey? Let us join your shelter, beco your loyal dogs. After all, with your strength, there’s no need to worry about others rebelling, right?

Hou Jin narrowed his eyes, feeling a bit angry inside, "Follow him, see where they’re going. If it really cos down to it, we’ll just settle down next to their shelter first."

The survivor hesitated, "But Brother Hou, what if we piss them off, will they kill us?"

"That won’t happen, they would have killed us already if they wanted to. Sotis we have to take a gamble. He’s too strong, almost inhuman. If we can discover his secret to strength, then the world would be ours," Hou Jin said with a deep voice.

Listening to Brother Hou’s words,

They all felt it made a lot of sense.

...

Liang Yuan closely followed Lin Fan, occasionally looking back. Those four survivors had been following all along, keeping a relative distance.

"Are they still following?"

Lin Fan said, "Mhm, I know."

Whenever zombies appeared, they were dispatched by Lin Fan. This thod shocked Liang Yuan and the other four survivors.

Seeing it up close was incredibly shocking.

Hou Jin quietly said, "I think we’re absolutely safe. Did you see? Whenever a zombie shows up, he gets rid of it. You tell , with his strength, letting zombies co over to bite us would be a piece of cake. He didn’t do that, which ans he’s tacitly allowing us to stay."

He smiled, seemingly proud of his discovery.

The other three survivors were full of confidence, feeling that it really was so.

"I’ve known you for a while now, but I still don’t know your na," Lin Fan said, having a conversation with Liang Yuan.

"My na is Liang Yuan, I used to be a kindergarten teacher."

"Yuan, a beloved daughter. Your family’s love for you is clear. To be a kindergarten teacher, you must have a lot of love and patience," Lin Fan said with a smile.

Upon hearing about family, Liang Yuan’s expression beca downcast, and she felt sad.

Lin Fan noticed her expression, "Sorry, I didn’t an to bring up sothing that would make you sad."

"It’s alright, it’s all in the past. I just never expected the apocalypse to happen. At the beginning, I was asleep, groggy, when I received a call from my dad. He told not to go outside because it was dangerous and to stay alive. Then I heard my dad screaming." It was very tough for Liang Yuan; she once had a happy family, but now she was left alone.

Lin Fan sighed, "Yeah, we’re left all alone."

Liang Yuan asked, "It’s just you left as well?"

Lin Fan, hiding his past pains and smiling carelessly, said, "Yeah, I’ve been living alone for a long, long ti. You get used to it, it’s not as bad as you think. By the way, if you have a wish, what would it be?"

Without even thinking, Liang Yuan blurted out as if she had long ago prepared her answer, "For the world to be at peace, my family by my side, and for to continue my work as a kindergarten teacher that I love."

Lin Fan looked at her, sighing internally. The survivors who were still alive all longed for this, but it was ultimately a fantasy.

Talking and talking.

Liang Yuan realized that this Lin brother, who initially seed a bit odd, was actually quite normal. So of the things he said were strange, but when she thought about it, they made a lot of sense.

It was as if his perspective on life was quite high, viewing things with equanimity.

Walking and walking.

They had reached the street with the police station.

Liang Yuan curiously looked around, "Brother Lin, this place is so clean, and there are no zombies."

Her way of addressing Lin Fan had been upgraded to Brother Lin amidst their casual chat.

Lin Fan said, "Mhm, I’m very familiar with this area. I’ve cleared this side before, and you might not know, but up ahead is the police station. There lives a certain Officer Huang. He’s a great man, very righteous, always maintaining the peace of Huang City. It’s just that he is alone and can’t be everywhere at once."

"Officer Huang?"

Liang Yuan was very puzzled, not expecting there was still a living police officer. Honestly, hearing such news brought her great hope.

If Brother Lin is well acquainted with Officer Huang, then it ans Brother Lin must be alright.

Suddenly.

Officer Huang staggered out from the entrance of the police station.

"Officer Huang."

Upon seeing that figure, Lin Fan waved his hands happily, having not seen him for a long ti. He noticed Officer Huang seed a bit different, a bit stronger, even his deanor had changed.

In Lin Fan’s view, this must be righteousness.

Liang Yuan was dumbfounded; she couldn’t believe that the Officer Huang Lin brother spoke of was actually a zombie...

As she was bewildered, Lin Fan’s voice ca to her ears.

"Don’t be afraid, I trust my judgnt."

She saw that Lin Fan’s gaze towards her was full of confidence, very resolute.

Hou Jin and the others also noticed Officer Huang but weren’t panicked at all. After all, the guy they hoped to cling to for safety was capable of killing zombies for them; there was nothing to worry about.

At that mont.

Liang Yuan felt a bit nervous. As they got closer to Officer Huang, her heart began to race. She had seen sothing bizarre. Brother Lin claid to be friends with this zombie, Officer Huang.

It seed incredible to her.

In her eyes, zombies were terrifying creatures that attacked people on sight.

"Heh heh..."

Officer Huang approached Liang Yuan, tilting his head, his mouth open, viscous fluid dripping down, grey-white eyes moving, staring intensely at her.
