Evening.

"Mom, I’m starving, when will it be ready?"

Feifei sat at the table, waiting for the al, eagerly looking towards the kitchen, urging her mom who was busy inside.

In the post-apocalyptic world, compared to other kids, Feifei was indeed fortunate; many had lost their parents, but Feifei still had a loving mother.

"Soon, stop rushing. You think about eating all day— if only you were this enthusiastic about studying."

"Mom, studying is studying, eating is eating, they are not the sa. Besides, food is vital— if I miss a al, I’m too hungry to study."

"You little rascal, always coming up with excuses."

"I’m not, that’s what the book says." Feifei sat there, swinging her feet, eagerly waiting for the special al her mom made for her.

Li i brought out the dishes with both hands, the delicious aroma instantly spreading.

"Wow, pickled fish, and it’s my favorite tomato flavor." Feifei’s nose was very sensitive, as soon as she slled it, her mouth started to water.

Li i said, "I heard at the matchmaking event this afternoon, you and Tingting stirred up quite a fuss."

Feifei blinked her eyes, looking innocent, "Really? I didn’t."

Li i looked at her daughter, a clever little one. She had heard that Feifei and Tingting even prepared personal resus to compete with the girls who liked Xiaofan, causing a scene.

"You must know yourself, Uncle Lin bought you those test papers, you need to finish them seriously, he cares about your studies." Li i said.

"Mom, can we not talk about stressful things during als, it really affects my appetite." Feifei drooped her head, feeling wronged. Uncle Lin’s way of repaying kindness made her nervous, even though she learned her lesson many tis, she still didn’t rember.

Why is it like this, maybe this is Feifei’s deep love for Uncle Lin.

No matter how many tis she is tricked, she charges forward regardless.

Knock knock!

A clear knock sounded on the door.

"Coming."

Li i went to open the door.

"Nini, how co you’re here, have you eaten? If not, have so here, the food is just ready."

It’s customary for Chinese people to ask if you’ve eaten as a greeting, as it’s ingrained in their culture because past generations knew the feeling of hunger.

"Sister Li, I haven’t eaten actually, I ca to see Feifei." Yan Nini said.

Li i shouted toward the dining table at Feifei, "Feifei, Sister Yan is here to see you, why don’t you quickly invite her in?"

"Oh, oh, hi Sister Yan." Feifei jumped off the chair, happily thinking in her heart, why did Sister Yan co over now?

Suddenly.

Feifei’s crafty eyes caught sight of the black bag in Yan Nini’s hand, a bad feeling ca over her, praying in her heart it wasn’t what she thought.

Yan Nini took off her shoes, put on slippers, and smiled at Feifei.

Feifei found this smile very beautiful, but sohow felt there’s a bit of an unusual emotion in it.

"Hi Feifei," Yan Nini said.

"Hi, Sister Yan."

Feifei responded obediently and politely.

Li i went to the kitchen to get tableware for Yan Nini, then ca out and handed them to her.

"Thank you, Sister Li."

"Oh, no need to thank, we’re all family. If I’d known you were coming, I would have prepared sothing better."

"No, this is already wonderful."

Yan Nini knew Sister Li’s cooking skills, having such delicious food in the post-apocalyptic world was indeed a blessing.

Li i said, "How did the matchmaking event go today?"

Hearing her mom ntion this, Feifei lowered her head, looking at her bowl, stuffing her face. Everyone knew how it went, she just felt that Sister Yan must have sothing important to say coming over tonight.

So she dared not speak.

"It went alright, mainly it was lively, our Sunshine Shelter hasn’t been this lively for a long ti." Yan Nini said with a smile.

Li i glanced at Feifei, "This child and Tingting were making a fuss, poor Uncle Lin, single for so long, finally has a chance to find soone, and they just spoiled it."

Feifei felt very wronged, how could they bla anyone, clearly Uncle Lin didn’t want to be in the matchmaking, that’s why we worked together.

Yan Nini said, "We know what Brother Lin is thinking, as long as the apocalypse isn’t over, he won’t think about these things, so Feifei and Tingting actually did well."

Hearing Sister Yan’s words, Feifei’s eyes lit up, she lifted her head, "Mom, did you hear that? I wasn’t being difficult, I did a good thing."

Sister Yan’s recognition gave her imnse courage, even her words beca firm.

However, a child is still a child, and doesn’t understand adult talk, though it seems straightforward, there is a deeper aning which they cannot comprehend yet.

Yan Nini said, "So, my purpose in coming here is to reward our sensible Feifei. After the matchmaking ended, I went to the bookstore to look for study materials, and asked so teachers. They said Feifei’s foundation isn’t very strong, so I specially bought so basic test papers."

"Feifei, although Sister Yan is a dance teacher, Teacher Qiu is pregnant and needs to rest at ho, so I will be taking over as the class teacher. You need to complete one test paper every day and bring it the next day, and I will check it for you."
