Inside the building.
Zhou Huai looked ordinary, just an average person among the crowd.
The other survivors in this building had noticeably less color in their faces and were much thinner.
So looked pale, others frail.
Clearly, malnutrition had weakened their bodies.
"Brother Huai, I have sothing to report."
At this mont, a young man ca running, grinning fawningly as he approached Zhou Huai, bowing low. The pressure of the apocalypse had bent his back.
He could no longer live upright.
The survivors cleaning up inside the building heard this and their expressions changed slightly. They knew this young man was Zhou Huai’s lackey, specializing in tattling.
He did it to curry favor with Zhou Huai and get a share of the leftovers.
As a result, the other survivors in this shelter disliked him.
But what could they do, really?
Who made him good at sucking up, becoming Zhou Huai’s lackey, with more influence than them? Offending him would only lead to trouble.
"What is it?"
Zhou Huai glanced at him casually, asking as if he were a king here, enjoying his current life. Just sitting over there, won would massage his shoulders and feet.
Such a life before would have cost money.
Li Hao said, "Brother Huai, soone tricked you. Among the survivors we took in a month ago, there’s a tomboy, but she’s actually a woman. She sars soot on her face every day, taught by Old Man Gu. Old Man Gu said, Brother Huai, your lustfulness is infamous, so the woman should hide herself."
"What?" Zhou Huai rose in a fury, kicking the woman massaging his feet to the ground. "Old Man Gu, damn it, I ignored your weakness, gave you farming work, and you dare go against ?"
He perceived himself as the king of this shelter.
He could do as he pleased.
The people living here must obey his commands.
The cleaning survivors sighed, knowing Old Man Gu would surely be fed to the zombies, and that woman posing as a tomboy would be dragged into a room by Zhou Huai and ravaged.
Thinking of these things made their hearts heavy.
"Brother Huai, these people live here safely and not only are they ungrateful, but they also dare play tricks. I think they need a harsh lesson," Li Hao said viciously.
"You’re right, bring them to ," Zhou Huai said.
"Yes."
Receiving Brother Huai’s order, Li Hao left excitedly.
Soon after.
An old man and a young woman were brought before Zhou Huai under zombie watch.
Old Man Gu, thin as a stick, looked in poor health. Already seventy, he was elderly and showed no fear facing Zhou Huai. Living this long, what hadn’t he seen?
"Old bastard, you’re seeking death," Zhou Huai kicked Old Man Gu in the stomach. As an Awakener, even with his power to control, becoming an Awakener had strengthened his body, and his kick was powerful.
"Grandpa Gu."
The tomboy, Zheng Yi, knelt before Old Man Gu, glaring angrily at Zhou Huai, "How can you do this? Grandpa Gu is so old."
"Heh heh," Zhou Huai chuckled, scrutinizing Zheng Yi. Truth be told, with her current appearance, it was hard to tell she was female. Her face was filthy; who knew what she looked like under it? "Get so water and clean the soot off her face. I want to see what she really looks like."
"Got it."
Li Hao hurried away, soon returning with a basin of water. He wet a towel and wiped Zheng Yi’s face, quickly removing the black soot and revealing her true features.
Zhou Huai’s eyes glead upon seeing her, "Not bad. In this apocalypse, having soone of her caliber is quite good."
Zheng Yi wasn’t a great beauty, just prettier than an average girl.
But in today’s world.
Her quality was indeed considered quite good.
Zheng Yi was terrified. Hiding in this shelter, under Grandpa Gu’s care, she had been safe until now. Grandpa Gu had told her to never clean herself up, otherwise, Zhou Huai would see and defile her.
If she wanted a nice life and a full belly, she could seek out Zhou Huai.
Zheng Yi couldn’t accept such terms. How could she beco soone’s plaything just for food?
She also knew Zhou Huai had several won around him, all forced. Those who refused were thrown to the zombies, a ans for Zhou Huai to control others forcibly.
Zhou Huai walked towards Zheng Yi.
"What are you trying to do?" Zheng Yi retreated in fear.
"What am I trying to do? Cutie, what do you think?" Zhou Huai grinned, already impatient with the anticipation. Her youthful face, maybe in her twenties, was the best the shelter had to offer.
"Don’t co near,"
Zheng Yi shouted out in fear.
"Girl, why resist? Follow for a life of luxuries. In this apocalypse, such a life is sothing others would die for."
Zhou Huai rubbed his hands with a wicked smile, already imagining the delightful scenes to co.
Li Hao stood by, chuckling.
The other survivors were helpless, unable to do anything, especially with zombies around. Any attempt at an idea would have them torn to pieces.
