Chapter 172: A Shocking Return, Another God-Level Feat?

Chen Ye finally t the bureau chief of the Ti-Space Bureau.

The man was elderly, at least in his fifties, with silver streaks in his hair. Despite his age, he looked robust, exuding a strong military aura. His eyes were sharp, full of vitality, like brass bells.

As soon as they t, the bureau chief got straight to the point:

"I know our previous actions angered you, and you've co here for revenge, right? Now I'm here. Do whatever you want, but please, leave the city quickly and don't bring disaster to the innocent."

Chen Ye suddenly laughed.

"You're wrong!" he said.

"My main goal is to complete my mission here, stay a few more days, and claim my reward. Revenge on you? Do you really think you're that important?"

After those words, and under the astonished gaze of the bureau chief, Chen Ye pulled out a rope he had prepared and tied up the entire group.

There was so resistance, but resisting Chen Ye was a fool's errand.

"Now, you're my captives!" Chen Ye grinned. "Next, you'll cooperate with fully."

"Don't worry, in exchange, I'll leave the city," he added.

The bureau chief finally regained his composure.

Looking at Chen Ye in shock, he asked, "So, you acted like you were seeking revenge just to lure out?"

"Exactly!"

Chen Ye nodded and then said, "I kept hearing from your people that you have an underground base that's really secure and safe. I'm quite interested in that. I was worried you might try sothing before, but now I don't care. Hurry up and take there!"

Still baffled, the bureau chief watched as Chen Ye single-handedly escorted the group downstairs and loaded them into an SUV, heading out of the city.

Everyone from the Ti-Space Bureau was utterly dumbfounded.

What kind of twist was this?

The bald guy had acted so tough, but this was his real objective?

Why didn't he just say so earlier?!

...

As soon as Chen Ye drove out of the city, strong winds began to pick up.

Clearly, this was a disaster aid directly at him.

Fortunately, the SUV had good performance, so they weren't too affected.

At the sa ti, Chen Ye realized sothing.

His earlier choice to not leave the train when he arrived in the secret realm was pointless.

Old Liu was right; the secret realm wouldn't let anyone exploit loopholes.

The winds howled.

Soon, a massive tornado, dozens of ters in diater, ford and headed straight for Chen Ye's SUV.

The iron roof of the SUV was ripped and torn away.

The higher-ups from the Ti-Space Bureau turned pale with fear.

With such a massive tornado, if they were caught in it, they'd be torn to shreds without a trace left.

Luckily, Chen Ye's driving skills, combined with his biological force field, kept the SUV from flipping over.

Fighting against the powerful winds, they finally reached the underground base.

Once the nuclear-proof doors of the base slamd shut, the higher-ups, including the bureau chief, all breathed a sigh of relief.

This was a semi-abandoned underground base.

Many of the facilities inside were no longer operational.

When the door closed, the entire place plunged into darkness.

Chen Ye turned on his phone's flashlight and said, "Get in touch with your people right away. As soon as the tornado passes, have them send supplies—food, water, a generator, and other necessities!"

The bureau chief frowned and asked, "I want to know, what will you do with us in the end?"

Hearing this, Chen Ye sneered.

"What, do you think you're in a position to bargain? If you don't cooperate, do you believe I won't head back to the city and bring disaster with ?"

"How many people would die if that giant tornado hit the city?"

The bureau chief's face darkened, and he had no words to respond.

Chen Ye continued, "Stop guessing. You're definitely going to die. Your foolish actions pissed off, so you'll pay the price. However, as long as the rest of you cooperate, the other three can survive."

"When I've stayed here for six full days, they'll be free."

Upon hearing this, the remaining three people showed signs of hope on their faces.

The bureau chief, however, frowned. "You plan to stay for six days? Don't you know? On the seventh day, the disaster that will occur is an extinction-level event!"

"Of course I know!" Chen Ye replied calmly.

"I need to make sure I get both the highest reward and the bonus rewards!"

"Don't worry, I'll leave as soon as I finish my six days—won't even stay a second longer."

Seeing that Chen Ye's mind was made up, no one said anything more.

They were his captives now, after all, and had no right to argue.

After that, Chen Ye intentionally locked the bureau chief up in a separate room and confiscated all his electronic devices to prevent any tricks.

He handed over the task of contacting the outside world to the other three.

Since these three still had a chance to live, they would likely cooperate with Chen Ye to save their own lives.

Of course, if they dared to play any tricks, Chen Ye didn't mind.

Worst case, he'd return to the city and start over.

...

Things progressed smoothly after that.

A few hours later, the requested supplies arrived.

Chen Ye got the food, water, and generator he had asked for.

He even made sure the delivery people saw that the bureau chief was still alive (albeit with his mouth sealed), to ensure the Ti-Space Bureau didn't try anything funny.

As for whether the food and water might be poisoned?

Chen Ye doubted they'd have the guts to try that.

But just in case, he would have the Ti-Space Bureau people eat first...

In the underground base...

Chen Ye successfully made it through the fourth day.

On the fifth day, the will of the world responded to Chen Ye by triggering an earthquake!

Fortunately, the underground base was incredibly sturdy. Even though the earthquake reached a magnitude of eight, only parts of the base were damaged, while the main structure remained intact.

It was said that this underground base was built according to nuclear defense standards.

After the earthquake passed, a long period of calm followed, as if the world's will had no more ans to deal with Chen Ye, who was safely hiding underground.

On the sixth day, an accident occurred at a military base elsewhere, resulting in the accidental launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile.

The missile flew directly to Chen Ye's location and hit right above the underground base.

Boom!

The entire underground base shook!

But in the end, the Ti-Space Bureau's people only got scared, and nothing else happened...

The underground base was like an unbreakable shell, much to Chen Ye's satisfaction.

Additionally, the base was located far from the coastline, so even if the world's will wanted to send a tsunami, it wouldn't reach him.

Thus, Chen Ye successfully made it through the sixth day.

When the sixth day officially passed, Chen Ye smiled with satisfaction.

To be honest, if it weren't for this underground base, he doubted he could have lasted until the seventh day.

Not to ntion the super tornado and the earthquake—just the missile from the previous day was incredibly powerful, leaving a giant crater on the surface.

Even though Chen Ye could have survived, he would likely have been injured.

"Finally, the seventh day," Chen Ye said, looking at the four people in front of him, smiling. "I keep my word. I'm ready to leave now!"

Then, his gaze shifted toward the bureau chief, and he said coldly, "I'll take your life as a lesson. Hopefully, the Ti-Space Bureau learns from this—don't be so brainless next ti!"

With those words, Chen Ye lifted his index finger, and a streak of fire shot through the chief's forehead.

He didn't bother asking what the flying extraordinary creature was, because it no longer mattered to him.

In the expectant eyes of the remaining three Ti-Space Bureau officials, Chen Ye's figure disappeared from the underground base a few minutes later.

The three imdiately called for help!

When rescuers arrived, they found that the entrance to the underground base had been sealed off by the missile blast.

The food and water inside the base were almost gone...

...

In the real world.

Inside Tang Zichen's dormitory.

Chen Ye suddenly appeared.

Tang Zichen, who had been eating instant noodles, was so startled that she spilled her food.

However, instead of being angry, Tang Zichen's face lit up with a smile.

"Chen Ye, welco back," she said warmly.

"Yeah, I'm back..." Chen Ye replied, his voice carrying a hint of emotion.

Sensing the shift in his tone, Tang Zichen quickly asked with concern, "What's wrong? You're not hurt, are you?"

"I'm fine," Chen Ye shook his head and soon noticed the spilled noodles on the floor. He frowned slightly and asked, "Why are you eating this stuff?"

"Oh, I didn't want to raise any suspicions, so I've been staying inside these past few days. I ran out of food from the fridge, so I'm just eating this," Tang Zichen explained calmly.

Chen Ye felt both amused and speechless at the sa ti.

Just then...

Everyone who participated in the 5th secret realm received a notification:

[Extra rewards recipients: Chen Ye and Tang Zichen from the Xia Nation...]

Hearing the notification, Tang Zichen's face broke into a smile.

She couldn't help but praise, "Chen Ye, you're amazing as always."

"Of course!" Chen Ye replied without any modesty. "As your reliable 'thigh to hug,' I've got to pull through!"

Tang Zichen simply smiled at his cockiness, her gaze toward him filled with warmth.

Chen Ye wasn't oblivious.

He could clearly see the change in her attitude toward him...

Then, he purposely exclaid, "Wow! Class monitor, look at the panel! This ti, the total reward points went up to 190!"

Tang Zichen laughed and said, "Our teacher did ntion that survival realms offer higher rewards because of the difficulty in obtaining extra rewards. Next ti, we might not get as much."

For the two of them, earning extra rewards was nothing new, so they didn't dwell on it.

Chen Ye suddenly rembered sothing and quickly asked, "By the way, class monitor, has Teacher Liu returned?"

He hadn't forgotten that Old Liu had also gone into a secret realm this ti.

"Yes, he ca back," Tang Zichen replied. "I saw him update his social dia three days ago, saying everything went smoothly."

"Oh? That's good!" Chen Ye smiled. "I really didn't want to get a new teacher out of the blue."
