"Beep beep! Beep beep! Beep beep!" In the early morning, the alarm clock rang, waking Chen Xin from his slumber.
However, upon waking, Chen Xin rely extended an arm to slap the alarm clock on the bedside, snoozing it and pulling his arm back, embracing the soft body in his arms.
"Xin, it’s ti to get up." Mo Qingyan, held in Chen Xin’s embrace, softly reminded him.
After nearly a year, Chen Xin finally returned ho yesterday, and naturally, Mo Qingyan and Qin Lan were very happy about his return. As such, certain things that n dream of happened as would be expected.
In the morning, Qin Lan got up early due to work commitnts, rising early to go to work.
However, when she got up, Mo Qingyan also woke up, but considering Chen Xin was still asleep, she didn’t wake him and continued sleeping in his embrace.
Waking up in Chen Xin’s arms in the morning brought Mo Qingyan a sense of safety and happiness.
After her beloved returned after a year, she wanted to spend more ti with him, rather than getting him up early for work.
The ti on the alarm clock was not early anymore, and if they didn’t get up, it might lead Chen Xin’s parents to have so negative thoughts.
Even though she and Qin Lan were already implicitly recognized by Chen Xin’s parents as their daughters-in-law, so things still feel shy and embarrassing in front of parents.
So Mo Qingyan extended her small hand and gently pushed Chen Xin’s chest twice, saying, "Get up! The sun is shining on your behind! If you don’t get up, I need to get up!"
Even though Qin Lan had thoughtfully drawn the blackout curtains before she left, Mo Qingyan could still feel the sunlight streaming in from outside.
Having regained the sunlight after so long, Mo Qingyan’s sleep has been excellent; she wakes up every morning when the sun shines into the room, and today, if not for accompanying Chen Xin, she would have gotten up early.
Yet Chen Xin, pushed twice by Mo Qingyan, only hugged her tighter, turned over to press his whole body against her, and mumbled, "Let sleep a bit longer..."
"Xin!" Feeling helpless, Mo Qingyan, pressed beneath Chen Xin, struggled a bit in vain and could only acquiesce.
Though she knew Chen Xin was just being lazy, Mo Qingyan indulged his little whims, considering she hadn’t seen him in a year.
If not, she and Qin Lan wouldn’t have stayed to accompany him last night.
During Chen Xin’s ti in Europe, she and Qin Lan each had their own work and lived separately, not with Chen Xin’s parents.
On one hand, with Chen Xin not at ho, it didn’t seem right for them to stay at his place, unlike before in his self-built haven.
So normally, Mo Qingyan and Qin Lan would take turns accompanying Chen Xin’s parents for als, sotis staying over at their request, but rarely both stayed; usually, they would leave after als.
But yesterday, as Chen Xin returned from Europe, both hadn’t seen him for a long ti and had much to discuss, so they both stayed and even slept together.
And precisely because Chen Xin returned after so long, Mo Qingyan indulged him, even though being unable to get up today would make her late for work.
Just as Mo Qingyan was pondering how to request leave later, Chen Xin kissed her forehead and then released her.
"Xin? What’s up? Not sleeping a bit longer?" Watching Chen Xin sit up from the bed, Qin Lan asked curiously, puzzled by Chen Xin suddenly rising when he seed intent on staying in bed.
"I have to get up and work! The boss wants to see today! Can’t just stay lazing at ho, can I?" Chen Xin hugged Mo Qingyan, kissed her again, got up, and headed towards the bathroom. At the bathroom door, he turned back to Mo Qingyan, who was sitting up in bed: "Qingyan, I’m going to shower, want to join?"
"Mm, but don’t you dare ss around!" Mo Qingyan glanced at the alarm clock, noting there was ti for a shower, nodded to agree.

"Good morning, Academician Chen, have you returned from Europe?" A staff mber saw Chen Xin appear and promptly greeted him, seemingly surprised by his return.
Chen Xin also greeted the staff mber, nodding and saying, "Returned yesterday, how’s work been recently?"
"Terrible, without you, Academician Chen, our research progress has slowed by at least 500%!" The staff mber exaggerated in jest, but without a doubt, Chen Xin’s absence had indeed decreased the institution’s efficiency in producing results.
Hearing the staff mber’s joke, Chen Xin rely smiled, not taking it seriously but still smiling back, "Alright, let first attend the eting with the leaders, then you gather the issues accumulated across departnts during this period, and I’ll address them after the eting."
"Yes, Academician!" The staff mber, hearing Chen Xin, quickly composed himself and nodded earnestly.
Watching the staff rush off to execute his tasks, Chen Xin habitually shook his head, then headed upstairs towards his office.
Returning after a year, the office was still clean and tidy but sowhat cold and lacking in vitality.
Pulling out his chair and sitting down, he scanned the familiar office, adapted a bit, then activated the desk’s eting system, waiting to et with the senior leaders.
So far, he still didn’t know why the higher-ups were in such a rush to call him back, which was why he got up so eagerly early today, anxious to find out what had happened.
If sothing serious had indeed occurred, then he would need to prepare, as although everything seed fine now, any issue could quickly undo it all.
Preventing bad things from happening was what Chen Xin hoped to do.
Suddenly, Chen Xin wondered if he should, like so paranoid rich kid, prepare contingency plans or backup strategies?
With this thought, as Chen Xin considered these things, the conference equipnt before him lit up, and the senior leaders started logging in one by one.
