"It’s really surprising that the Lucias would send troops to join the battle." Watching the Lucia troops settling into the camp, Chen Xin expressed his surprise to the officer beside him.
"This is a return gift for your country’s previous assistance to us. Moreover, the alien invasion concerns all of humanity. Even if Lucia might not be imdiately affected by the aliens, we can’t stand by and watch aliens invade Earth." The Lucia officer beside Chen Xin answered earnestly.
Chen Xin nodded slightly at this response.
Although he was sowhat confused about the Lucias sending reinforcents and questioned their motives, having an additional force in this situation was not a bad thing.
After all, even if the Lucias had other ideas, it was still an internal affair of humanity, and they wouldn’t surrender to the aliens.
Moreover, even if they wanted to surrender, communicating with the aliens would still be a problem.
"Dr. Chen, how will our soldiers join the battle? Will they be deployed as an independent unit or integrated into your forces for joint operations?" The Lucia officer asked Chen Xin.
This was supposed to be handled by the military, but evidently, the Lucias didn’t have the configuration of every Fla Country person having an exoskeleton and a 12.7mm heavy machine gun. They couldn’t be thrown directly into the battlefield; that would be sending the Lucias to their deaths.
Therefore, when the higher-ups discussed how to arrange for the Lucias to participate in the fight, the proposal to upgrade the Lucias’ equipnt naturally ca up.
And this matter was handed over to Chen Xin, who was to evaluate the Lucias’ equipnt situation.
Based on the assessnt results, there would be two different courses of action.
"What is your equipnt situation?" Chen Xin asked the Lucia officer.
Though from what he saw of the Lucia army’s condition, sending them into battle would only be sending them to their deaths, he still needed to understand the situation.
"After receiving the information your country shared, we understood the aliens’ performance on the battlefield. Therefore, our army is equipped with heavy weapons as much as possible. However, due to the lack of the exoskeletons your country has popularized, we couldn’t equip every soldier with heavy firepower." At this point, the Lucia officer shook his head, displaying a bitter expression.
Once upon a ti, the Fla Country needed to import military equipnt technology from Suyia. How many years has it been, and now Lucia has a fundantal disparity compared to the Fla Country.
Though feeling regretful, the question still needed to be answered. Thus, the Lucia officer led Chen Xin into the temporary camp allocated for the Lucia army, showing him the current equipnt of the Lucias.
The Lucias indeed couldn’t equip everyone with heavy weapons nor had advanced exoskeletons like the Fla Country. But they still equipped the army with non-powered assistive exoskeletons, enabling soldiers to carry large-caliber weapons as much as possible.
However, they adjusted everything to armor-piercing bullets, shotguns, grenade launchers, and the like, rather than the small-caliber automatic rifles used previously.
In addition, they brought so tanks and armored vehicles over, although they knew the utility of these armored units was limited and couldn’t compare to the Fla Country’s Titans. Nevertheless, they felt they had to bring them.
After briefly reviewing their equipnt, Chen Xin ford so ideas in his mind.
"Your equipnt can indeed pose so threat to the aliens, but it’s still hard to be effectively threatening on the battlefield." Chen Xin candidly stated the situation to the Lucias without any reservation: "So, either you stay back to perform so auxiliary tasks, assisting our front-line forces, or you upgrade your equipnt to have the ability to confront the aliens."
"Upgrade the equipnt? Would your country be willing to provide equipnt?" The Lucia officer seed sowhat pleasantly surprised. Before coming, he was prepared for his troops to face the battlefield with their existing weapons.
After all, they are Lucias, a race known for boxing bears with bare fists. Even with only shovels, they’d dare to charge at the enemy, let alone now that they have weapons.
But now, hearing Chen Xin’s intention, it seed like the Fla Country was willing to upgrade their equipnt, which truly was a delightful surprise.
"We can’t just send you off to die! This isn’t a human-internal conflict but a war against aliens. As a usable force, we need to enable you to maximize your contribution. Even if it’s a suicide mission, it should be impactful, right?" Chen Xin didn’t shy away from the issue of death, acknowledging that such tasks indeed arise in war.
The Lucia officer obviously understood this and didn’t mind Chen Xin’s ntion of the death missions. Instead, he was more concerned about the equipnt issue Chen Xin ntioned.
"Will you provide the sa equipnt as your country’s military?" Though knowing it’s just a luxury hope, the Lucia officer still held onto it with expectation.
"I’m not sure about that. Although I’ve been tasked with assessing your equipnt conditions and deciding whether to provide you with weapons, the specific type of equipnt to provide still needs upper-level discussion and decision-making." Chen Xin replied to the Lucia officer.
Although Chen Xin himself could decide what kind of equipnt to provide to the Lucia forces, he refrained from doing so.
Providing weapons that equip one’s national military to the forces of another country requires cautious consideration.
Even though they are currently facing an alien invasion, this remains a matter needing serious attention. After all, the Fla Country and Lucia are still two separate nations and have not ford a complete alliance under the threat of alien invasion.
According to Chen Xin’s thoughts, the equipnt provided by the country to Lucia’s reinforcents should be a civilian exoskeleton paired with heavy machine guns. As for power armor and Titans, they would not be provided to Lucia’s forces.
After all, the Lucia forces are also heading to the battlefield, so enhancing their output and damage capacity against aliens is essential.
However, the Fla Country’s military exoskeleton isn’t sufficient for their needs; hence there isn’t enough to supply to Lucia’s army, making civilian exoskeletons a more suitable choice.
As for Titans and power armor, aside from the fact that their use and maintenance require specialized training consuming significant ti, the production of these two alone is insufficient to et even the Fla Country’s needs, making it impossible to provide them to other countries’ forces.
Even so, this is still considerably stronger than the equipnt the Lucias brought themselves.
