Although the resettlent work for hundreds of thousands of people is imnsely complex, it is proceeding thodically and orderly thanks to the efforts of the staff, and soon everyone had a place to stay.
Even though the so-called accommodations were just tents, sotis shared by several families, they were at least places where one could temporarily stay, allowing all the people who were temporarily evacuated to the Do City to finally settle down.
However, after the people had settled, the workload for the staff not only didn't decrease but increased even more.
After all, the ongoing needs for food, drinking, sanitation, and daily life for hundreds of thousands of people remained an extrely burdenso task.
Moreover, unlike in the original city, everything had to be planned and arranged from scratch, causing the staff from various departnts to be so busy that they barely had a mont to rest.
Even Chen Xin himself had no ti to rest during this period, as various issues that needed addressing piled up before him.
Chen Xin had to liaise with the design institute and higher departnts about modifications to the Do City's planning, diate conflicts between the continued construction of the Do City and resettling people, and negotiate with the military to organize manpower to collect materials from the city…
Although a lot of the original city governnt staff had already addressed many tasks, there was still a significant amount of work that required Chen Xin to handle personally.
After all, at this stage in the Do City, he was the person with the highest authority. Even the Mayor had to find soone to coordinate and discuss matters, while Chen Xin could make the final decisions.
This led to many issues requiring his decision-making to settle matters definitively.
For example, the modifications needed in the Do City's plans, as these hundreds of thousands of people would evidently remain in the Do City until the original city is recaptured.
But was their stay in the Do City to be permanent or temporary? Should the urban planning modifications be based on temporary shelter, semi-permanent or permanent shelter?
Different choices required completely different modifications to the urban planning, which could only be decided by Chen Xin, the head of the Do City project.
Regarding this, after discussing with the main leadership of the city governnt, Chen Xin decided to proceed with semi-permanent residency as the premise to modify the existing design map.
Initially, the whole Do City was designed to accommodate only fifty thousand people, considering both ecological and residential functionality, while attempting to restore the original Blue Planet's ecological environnt.
Now, cramming hundreds of thousands of people here ant that the original plan was utterly insufficient, and the area previously reserved as an ecological zone was now filled with tents, crowded with people stranded here.
This situation was manageable in the short term, and people could endure it temporarily.
However, if hundreds of thousands of people were to reside in tents for a long period, nurous complications would arise, especially when certain issues reach a tipping point and erupt; not even the nation would want to endure such consequences.
Thus, Chen Xin had to work with the design institute, based on the city governnt's decisions and potential changes in circumstances, to modify the design map of the Do City.
Furthermore, there was another concern for Chen Xin; although the military defense line blocked the alien creatures, whether all the aliens were indeed contained and if humanity could completely eliminate them were still uncertain.
The Do City originally had no defense capabilities. Should this aspect be upgraded and altered now?
Additionally, as the military was now using the original city as a defense line and the lake area as the battlefield, the Do City's proximity to the warzone ant considering its use as a logistical support base.
These were all questions that Chen Xin needed to contemplate and decide on, as well as bear responsibility for his decisions.
This was why Chen Xin struggled with sleepless nights over several days for just a single blueprint after arriving at the Do City.
There were simply too many matters to consider.
Fortunately, these issues were eventually resolved, and the new blueprints were already being revised by the design institute.
Aside from these, the construction of the Do City itself was still unfinished. Now, balancing construction alongside resettling large numbers of people beca another issue requiring substantial ti and effort to diate.
Thankfully, this matter could be handed over to the staff of the city governnt to reassure the populace and allow construction to continue.
With construction ongoing, design plans being modified at the design institute, and city governnt staff calming the people, generally speaking, most of the work at this stage was temporarily addressed.
Yet still, Chen Xin couldn't find any leisure ti, as he was contemplating how to organize manpower to return to the city to gather the remaining resources and put the currently idle hundreds of thousands of people to use.
As everyone knows, idle people easily get distracted, whereas when they're busy, there's no ti for extraneous thoughts, which is more conducive to societal stability.
These matters were already addressed by Chen Xin in the etings; once the citizens were settled, the staff began assessing labor forces, identifying those willing to participate in labor and work.
Currently, the initial volunteers for labor were organized into two groups, all assigned to the construction teams for arrangent.
Since they were not professional construction workers, most of these people's tasks involved physical labor, such as carrying bricks.
Overall, although there were problems, the situation was relatively stable without any major incidents. Most people were willing to work, helping stabilize the situation in the Do City generally.
After receiving support from these workers, the construction teams also distributed so personnel to organize two new construction groups to complete the construction work of urban peripheral facilities ntioned in the previous eting by Chen Xin.
For the energy tower heating system, the state had urgently dispatched an Energy Tower for this area. Since the foundational work was already completed, installation could begin once all components arrived; however, the greenhouses needed to wait for the Energy Tower to be operational before they could receive heating and were currently unusable.
Conversely, the expansion of the train station proceeded smoothly, with two new platforms constructed, effectively enhancing the throughput of the entire station.
This also made Chen Xin's plan to organize personnel to collect remaining resources from the city feasible.
After all, the city was still under military control. Although there was fighting, and gathering resources posed certain risks, overall, the plan was feasible.
