Qin Lan and Mo Qingyan couldn’t quite grasp what Chen Xin ant by electromagnetic tallurgy, but since Chen Xin asked for their help, they naturally wouldn’t refuse and followed his instructions on the tasks he assigned them.
"Qingyan, these tal rods are already wrapped with copper wire, take them to Axin." Qin Lan handed several tal rods wrapped with copper wire to Mo Qingyan, instructing her to take them to Chen Xin.
Mo Qingyan took the iron rods passed by Qin Lan, nodded, and walked towards Chen Xin.
At this mont, Chen Xin was working on a rather peculiar-looking machine, with several tal rods wrapped with copper wire connected to a circular turntable, resembling an upside-down tripod stool that could rotate.
Mo Qingyan handed the tal rods she brought to Chen Xin, glanced at what he was making, and asked, "Axin, is there anything else you need help with? Is it really sufficient to just wrap copper wire around these few iron rods?"
"That’s enough, I can handle the other parts myself, and this machine itself isn’t complicated." Chen Xin smiled at Mo Qingyan, indicating that it was sufficient.
Using a chanical arm, Chen Xin welded the tal rods brought by Mo Qingyan onto another turntable, then assembled the two turntables and another chanical arm together.
Mo Qingyan watched as Chen Xin finished assembling the item, thinking it looked much like an egg beater, which made her sowhat curious about how it operated.
Even though Mo Qingyan voiced her curiosity to Chen Xin, she wasn’t expecting an answer, as she assud she wouldn’t understand his explanation even if he provided one.
"This device uses these tal rods as electrodes to discharge onto the tal materials placed in the center, using the arc produced by the discharge to lt the tal materials." As Chen Xin assembled the machine, he spun the tal rods on the turntable, which looked like chicken claws, introducing the setup to Mo Qingyan: "As long as the current is strong enough and the arc’s temperature is high enough, anything can be lted."
"(⊙o⊙)..." Mo Qingyan indicated that she didn’t understand what Chen Xin was talking about.
Chen Xin wasn’t annoyed, simply smiled and said, "It’s okay if you don’t understand, just know that I can use this machine to relt recycled scrap tal into new materials."
"Oh, so that’s how it works!" Mo Qingyan showed a face displaying "I totally understand now."
Chen Xin could tell that Mo Qingyan actually didn’t understand at all.
However, he didn’t mind, once the machine was assembled, he connected it to another Isotope Thermoelectric Battery he had removed from his vehicle, planning to use it for power supply.
Currently, one of the car’s three batteries was removed to power the rescue station, one was used here, and the car only had one battery left for power. Unless Chen Xin reinstalled the battery, the car wasn’t capable of driving for now.
This didn’t significantly affect Chen Xin, as he only had residential needs for his car now, not driving needs, so there was no imdiate necessity to drive. Even if there was a need, temporarily making a battery or reinstalling the battery wouldn’t take much effort or delay anything.
Of course, the setup before them was fairly rudintary; to make it functional, Chen Xin had to invest so survival points into it.
The investnt of survival points transford the machine, making it appear newly upgraded and more sci-fi, like a real deal. Simply put, it shifted from a green style to a NEC aesthetic.
The overall design of the machine didn’t change much, as it still featured a pillar connecting two circular turntables with tal rods protruding from them.
The bottom turntable resembled a large tray, surrounded by three vertical tal rods that looked like chicken claws, whereas the top slightly differed with the tal rods turning black, seeming more like a plug.
After upgrading, Chen Xin was quite satisfied with the machine, deciding to test its effectiveness.
Placing so scrap tal onto the bottom turntable, after signaling Mo Qingyan to step back, Chen Xin pressed the machine’s start button.
Upon power supply engagent, the three tal rods at the base began to rotate, and as the speed increased and the current intensified, the scrap tal on the tray surrounded by the tal rods gradually started vibrating and then levitated.
"Those three tal rods are actually electromagnets. Their rapid rotation forms a magnetic field, thus lifting those scrap tals." Chen Xin explained to Mo Qingyan and Qin Lan, who had arrived at so point, while observing that the tal rods’ speed was stable enough to keep the scrap tal levitating. Following this, he pressed the second button.
The plug at the machine’s top lowered slowly, its tal rods touching the floating scrap tal in the center, then began discharging.
Bright arcs were released from the electrodes at the tal rods’ ends, striking the suspended scrap tal, creating snapping sounds and intense sparks which made both Qin Lan and Mo Qingyan unable to resist shielding their eyes with their hands, while Chen Xin had already lowered the shading mask on his face shield.
As the arcs crackled, the scrap tal bound by the magnetic field started to lt gradually, and the sparks released from the electrodes grew increasingly intense, resembling welding operations.
Qin Lan’s Power Armor also had a shading mask, so she lowered it to clearly see the scrap tal in the machine transforming into a mass of orange-red liquid under the arc’s effect.
The lted liquid tal emitted massive heat, causing the surrounding snow to lt, generating copious steam which imdiately sublid into water vapor due to the high temperature.
Although they had lted into a mass of liquid, the liquid was still held by the magnetic field, suspended in the machine without falling.
"A-Lan, what’s happening exactly?" Mo Qingyan, whose Protective Suit helt lacked a shading mask, could only shield her eyes with one hand while turning her head to inquire Qin Lan.
"I don’t know either; it seems like after Axin started the machine, many sparks appeared, causing the scrap tal to lt. Now it seems impurities are dripping off." Qin Lan adjusted the aiming scope on her helt, switching visual modes to clearly see black impurities continuously surfacing on the molten tal surface and then falling to the tray below.
At this point, Chen Xin wasn’t keen on answering the doubts of Qin Lan and Mo Qingyan. With the machine’s operation, Chen Xin was fully engrossed in observing the machine, focusing on the orange-red liquid tal, continuously monitoring its condition with a scanning device on the chanical arm.
"The machine is sowhat simplistic; it can’t control temperature, and impurity discharge is ineffective. It seems improvent is necessary." Watching the liquid tal gradually exhibit layering, Chen Xin felt sowhat dissatisfied.
