Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation

Even though the ventilation system upgrade has been completed, the air inside the shelter is still filled with smoke and various toxic gases. Therefore, as soon as the system finished upgrading the ventilation ducts, Chen Xin hurriedly wanted to activate the newly added forced ventilation function to refresh the air in the shelter.

However, when he found the forced ventilation switch and pressed it twice, there was no response.

Chen Xin paused in confusion, quickly checked around, and then realized that the forced ventilation function required electricity.

Fortunately, the upgraded ventilation system’s wiring had already been directly connected to the power distribution room, and Chen Xin didn’t need to do the wiring or plug anything in. He simply needed to turn on the circuit control switch in the distribution room to activate forced ventilation.

After toiling for half a day, he finally heard the sound of fans operating and the whoosh of air rushing through the ventilation ducts, and only then did Chen Xin breathe a sigh of relief.

But since the battery power is ultimately limited, Chen Xin worried about running out of power, so he filled the generator with oil, started it to ensure power supply, and then collapsed onto the sofa in the living room.

After the forced ventilation had been on for over half an hour, Chen Xin felt it was enough. He removed the gas mask from his face and slled the air. Feeling he could no longer detect the odor of smoke, he went and turned off the forced ventilation.

Although the forced ventilation feature saved Chen Xin’s life this ti, it doesn’t need to be on all the ti. Besides, it’s not only noisy but also consus a lot of electricity when in use.

Without necessity, it’s better to turn it off to save resources.

After turning off the forced ventilation, Chen Xin returned to the living room sofa. Only then did he put aside the worries and fears caused by the previous situation and start to think clearly.

What happened this ti sounded an alarm for Chen Xin. His seemingly safe shelter actually had vulnerabilities. If he hadn’t had the system to upgrade the ventilation system, he might have suffocated to death.

If he hadn’t woken up in ti, he might have suffocated in his sleep.

Therefore, if Chen Xin wishes to survive properly, he must increase his vigilance and at the sa ti make good use of the system to upgrade the shelter as much as possible, allowing it to better protect him and provide him survival assurance.

The incident this ti also reinforced Chen Xin’s resolve that if not necessary, all survival points would be used for upgrading the shelter, rather than any other trivial upgrades, and he should always keep a reserve of survival points for ergencies.

Just like this ti, if Chen Xin hadn’t happened to have enough survival points on hand, even though the system could upgrade the ventilation system, he would not have had enough survival points to carry it out, resulting in possibly suffocating due to excessive toxic gases or insufficient oxygen in the air.

Currently, Chen Xin can earn 10 survival points a day, and the reason he’s been able to accumulate enough to upgrade the ventilation system in two days is that he achieved an accomplishnt when the system first settled survival points.

"Own a shelter, reward 100 survival points."

Through this achievent, Chen Xin understood that the system also had a way to earn survival points through accomplishnts.

Yet, Chen Xin was still clueless as to what could earn him accomplishnts, and he hasn’t delved into researching this yet, so for now, he mainly relies on accumulating the 10 points from daily settlents.

Of course, as the shelter upgrades, Chen Xin’s living conditions will improve, and the daily settled survival points will increase.

Thus, Chen Xin remains confident about his future. Even if the world has plunged into an apocalypse, he believes that as long as he strives to survive, with the system’s help, his life will only get better.

With this belief, Chen Xin picked himself up once again.

Although he was previously choked by the smoke and toxic gases, under the circumstances of having an oxygen tank providing oxygen, the harmful gases’ impact on his body was gradually diminishing, and his mind was becoming much clearer.

Once recovered, Chen Xin seriously contemplated the condition that the system increases daily settled survival points based on the improvent of his living conditions. So what in the shelter can count as improving living conditions?

Chen Xin took out his personal notebook, on which he had recorded so conclusions he drew over the last two days.

He browsed through the records and, after pondering the contents listed there, took out the pen clipped to the notebook and turned to a clean page to draft a new chart, writing down "dical" as the first entry.

This incident served as a reminder to Chen Xin that the first priority of survival was to ensure his own survival, and a complete set of dical facilities could significantly increase his chances of survival.

Not to ntion, in the current environnt, lacking dical treatnt and supplies, even if Chen Xin fell ill, it wouldn’t be possible to leave the shelter to see a doctor. He only had so common dications in reserve. Catching a cold or having a fever was fine, but if it were so uncommon illness, it could an waiting for death with closed eyes, or simply ending things swiftly with a cut.

Therefore, a full set of dical facilities was undoubtedly necessary for Chen Xin, ideally a separate dical room or, simply, one of those futuristic dical pods from sci-fi that can even handle fatal injuries.

Fortunately, with the existence of the system, Chen Xin was convinced that this wasn’t difficult to achieve, requiring nothing more than survival points.

However, after thinking it over more carefully, Chen Xin added "food" before "dical" in his list.

Eating is a basic daily necessity for everyone, and no one can claim they don’t need to eat.

This is equally true for Chen Xin, as he needs to eat just like everyone else.

Although he had stored enough food in the shelter, these supplies would eventually be depleted, which is why he developed a greenhouse, organized it over the past two days, and planted the first batch of seeds.

Perhaps the next step should be upgrading the greenhouse?

Chen Xin listed this as a priority option for future upgrades but did not set it as the top priority for upgrading the shelter.

Because before upgrading the greenhouse, Chen Xin had to consider how to maintain its operation.

It’s worth noting that Chen Xin’s greenhouse used grow lights to mimic sunlight for the plants, and these were quite power-consuming. So before upgrading the greenhouse, he must consider upgrading the power system to ensure sufficient electricity for its operation.

However, thinking of the greenhouse, Chen Xin decided to go check on it, wondering if the seeds he planted had sprouted.

This was sothing Chen Xin was quite concerned about, as it related to whether he could eat fresh vegetables and, even after finishing the stored food, still have sothing to eat.
