Chapter 827: Clinic 431 Director (4000)

Their gazes t, and for a mont, both Casio and the Chief Inspector of the Black chanism let their eyes rest on each other for a second. For so reason, the sa thought instinctively rose in both their hearts: This person is no ordinary man.

With a single look, the Chief Inspector of the Black chanism let a faint smile appear on his face.

Next to them, Holy Light Hunter Delisha’s gaze lingered between the two for a while before he took a step forward, inviting Casio over.

What followed was a segnt similar to an award ceremony. A soft red carpet was spread across the platform, subtly sewn together with gold threads. On both sides of the carpet, four Shadow Hunters stood apart, creating a space in between.

In this space, Holy Light Hunter Delisha held in his hand a long, exquisitely crafted wooden tray. Pulling aside the smooth satin on top, beneath it lay a slender ceremonial sword about the length of a half-man. The blade was narrow, smooth, and sharp, and the edge was adorned with intricate, dense patterns. It looked nothing like a weapon for combat, but more like a ceremonial prop.

The gemstones inlaid at the location of the sword hilt confird this. The sword was in fact the ceremonial blade of the first king of the Hong Li Empire, which, from a certain era onwards, had been used as the item for the Dark Hunt Organization’s Shadow Hunter rank awarding ceremonies. It was specially preserved and had not decayed for a thousand years. Of course, one shouldn’t think of using this blade for battle; at most, it was for show.

Delisha handed the tray to the Chief Inspector of the Black chanism, who took up the ceremonial sword and slowly rested it on Casio’s shoulders. Then he recited, in an expressive Imperial Language, a lengthy official monologue. For each statent he made, Casio responded with a yes.

About a minute later, the longsword was sheathed, and the awarding ceremony was over.

Under the watchful eyes of many hunters in the Hall of the Hunters Association, Casio officially beca the second-ranked Shadow Hunter. He remained expressionless as was his custom and didn’t feel there was much to be excited about. Down below, however, a bunch of veteran hunters seed quite thrilled, chatting and boasting to acquaintances, occasionally pointing at Casio who looked very prestigious.

Casio chose to ignore it.

About half an hour later, the awarding ceremony was basically over. True to expectations, the Chief Inspector of the Black chanism and Delisha decided they wanted to have a chat with Casio.

They ca to the headquarters building of the Dark Hunt Organization, to the office exclusively belonging to the Chief Inspector of the Black chanism. The space was spacious, with outstanding soundproofing.

Soon, the three of them began to talk, in a manner akin to casual conversation.

Prior to his arrival, Casio had prepared a cover story about himself – he claid to be soone from the Secret Martial Arts World of the Hong Li Empire, the sole inheritor of a mysterious ancient boxing thod school. He had been in secluded training until his school made an enemy of a mysterious organization. Though the mbers of his school were all highly skilled, they were too few in number.

Outnumbered, they were eventually destroyed, with Casio being the sole survivor.

That mysterious organization naturally carried many characteristics of the Door Organization.

This was the main point Casio wanted to convey to the Chief Inspector of the Black chanism.

To be honest, this story was a bit lodramatic and cliché. However, the Chief Inspector of the Black chanism believed at least half of it, as the Door Organization had indeed engaged in such activities.

The Dark Hunt Organization’s understanding of the Secret Martial Arts World of the Empire was not profound, but it was not completely ignorant either. As for the Door Organization, the Dark Hunt Organization’s or, more accurately, all official supernatural forces’ number one enemy, they had naturally had their encounters and clashes.

Although in recent decades, the Door Organization had not been very active, the Dark Hunt Organization had always kept an eye on them. This included information about the Secret Martial Arts World. The Door Organization had expended at least a third to half of its efforts on the Secret Martial Arts World of the Empire, sotis recruiting mbers from it and sotis arbitrarily destroying a Secret Martial Arts school. Sotis they would even suffer a backlash from the Secret Martial Arts World, resulting in heavy losses to their mbers and a period of silence afterward.

So, the story Casio concocted wasn’t too far-fetched.

He announced himself as soone from the Secret Martial Arts World and that his secret school had been destroyed by the Door Organization – all to find a common enemy with the Dark Hunt Organization. This was to dispel any awkwardness and mitigate so doubts.

Fortunately, neither Delisha nor the Chief Inspector of the Black chanism raised any direct challenges. And silence, in effect, ant that regardless of truth, they had initially accepted it. Their acceptance was influenced by various considerations; what Casio had thrown out was just part of it, the most important being that he was strong enough! And strong individuals, as long as they are united in their opposition, can always find organizations willing to accept them! Casio’s battle power, matching that of the top-ranked Shadow Hunter Case, even posed a threat to Delisha.

Furthermore, his ascent to becoming a Shadow Hunter was legitimate, having followed all rules without any violations. On this point, Holy Light Hunter Delisha, who had been in charge of the contest for the Shadow Hunter seats, could not refute it.

So no matter what the three people in the room were thinking, their conversation remained amicable. In the latter half of the conversation, the Chief Inspector of the Black chanism talked about the veteran hunters and also about the Black Bait Wood contributed by Casio.

This material was very useful for the Dark Hunt Organization, but its place of origin was difficult to find, and the conditions for its growth and formation were probably extrely harsh. The Chief Inspector of the Black chanism attempted to inquire from Casio about the discovery site of the Black Bait Wood, to which Casio brushed aside with the excuse that he had found it by chance. And after finishing his evasive response, he inquired about the situation of the Clinic from the Chief Inspector of the Black chanism. Clearly, this was a suggestion, and both parties to the conversation understood as much.
