Chapter 709: 374 Ash City (4200)_2

What demands vigilance is that the change in five degrees of Madness Value is not only related to ti but also linked to the Soul Holder’s state. When injured or overly exhausted, the rate of Madness Value increase would see a significant surge.

“Ten hours left, that should be enough…”

Casio retrieved the map of Ash City and slowly departed from the tower.

At the sa ti, in another corner of Ash City, collapsed stone columns and enclosure walls constituted large swaths of ruins. Dense clusters of buildings blocked the light, casting giant shadows.

In the shadows, a figure cloaked in a black robe moved stealthily.

The Ghost Man arrived to execute the task of Black Rain Villa, which was located at the mansion of the Ash City Lord. Undoubtedly, this central area was rather hazardous and could potentially encounter the Ash City Lord, the most powerful hazard spirit in the Ash City region, it was extrely difficult to deal with. There were ten Ash City Lords in total, one being the main body and the other nine were avatars. Each Ash City Lord possessed strength of the Hazard Spirit level!

If any of the avatars encountered an enemy, the nearby avatars would rush to assist. Depending on the situation, they would either choose to besiege or rge to beco a more powerful Ash City Lord.

It could be said, that the Ash City Lords would only grow stronger throughout the fight. Eventually, it might end up with ten Hazard Spirits besieging you alone. Or even worse, the ten would rge as one, unleashing the Ash City Lord’s full combat power.

Therefore, he must tread lightly. The Ghost Man would depart imdiately after obtaining the item without making any prolonged stops. If he encountered any troubleso dark creatures along the way, he would choose to take a detour to avoid them.

Click.

His footsteps suddenly stopped, and he leaned against the back of a building.

On the open main road of the city area directly ahead, the dull sound of colliding bone armor was heard. In the distance, a team of Ash Warriors slowly walked by, their posture sowhat slackened. Clearly, this was due to dayti, when the activity of dark creatures reached its lowest point.

However, even so, the streets were still perated with a bloodthirsty and ferocious aura. These Ash Warriors were typically over two ters tall, approximately between two to two-and-a-half ters. They wore heavy full suits of armor, which were osseous growths, and within the gaps of the armor, a hunk of at and blood vessels could faintly be seen. The massive contour was dotted with harsh angles. The Ash Warriors each held a great cross sword, revealing a grayish white hue of bone. The sharp blade was marked with streaks of blood.

Aside from the Ash Warriors, there were also several archers. They, too, were clad in full suits of armor, albeit significantly lighter.

Most peculiar was the bone bow in the hands of the Ash Archers—that was directly grown from their arms, forming the shape of a longbow. The surface of the bone bow was wrapped with skin and blood vessels, with the entire bowstring ford by a tangle of tough blood vessels. Inside the forearm had a channel with bone arrowheads resembling the pile. In battle, they could be directly snapped off for use.

What was worth noting was the entire arm of the Ash Archers was emitting black smoke, with the surface showing cracks resembling lava.

It’s uncertain whether this would empower the fired arrows.

The Ghost Man stood in the shadows, hesitated for a mont, and was about to dash out to swiftly slaughter these beasts when a commotion was heard from the streets—a sudden appearance of four to five three-ter tall figures.

Their entire physique resembled werewolves, with strong legs adopting the bearing of an inverted joint, their claws deeply embedded into the ground.

The upper body was swollen with developed muscles. Half their body showed a spider web-like fissure, underneath which it seed as though the glow of flas was flickering. These were Wild Beast level Vertebrae Swordsn. As for their blades, they were naturally concealed within their bodies. The Vertebrae Swordsn had an outstanding bone handle at the back of their necks, while the entire hulking blade was embedded in their bodies, turning their spines into a scabbard.

They were panting heavily from their nostrils, exhuding black smoke. Their eyes were filled with blood and were a fiery red, containing an undercurrent of roaring rage.

They looked quite provocative.

The Ghost Man halted his steps. It was not easy to deal with four to five Wild Beast level dark creatures, especially in the World of Calamities. He decided to play it safe, as careful as he had been earlier. He would wait for them to pass.

Three seconds later, the Ghost Man comnded his choice.

A vague figure wreathed in black mist and ash appeared, hovering in mid-air, emanating a dangerous aura.

It turned out to be an avatar of the Ash City Lord! Hazard Spirit level!

The Ghost Man admitted to himself that if it were a one-on-one fight, he could win by using all his tricks. But the problem was that there were many avatars of the Ash City Lord. Once a fight erupted, the other avatars would rush to assist.

Anyone entangled with them, would likely et their end soon.

As the silhouetted figure shrouded in black fog appeared, the Ghost Man imdiately lowered his presence and aura to its minimum. He silently waited for the dark creatures to leave the street before looking for an opportunity to move stealthily.

In Ash City, never engage with a Hazard Level.

That was the principle set by the Ghost Man for himself.

While he was deep in his thoughts, a rumble was heard from the main road of the city area, as though a road roller drove by. The massive vibration was almost visible as the rubbles on the ground were shaken several centiters high.

“Such a loud running sound, it could only be from the Poisonous Smoke Giant…”

The Ghost Man once again felt grateful; otherwise, he would have instantly encountered two Hazard Levelled Spirits. He turned his gaze towards the intersection of the street.

A large group of Ash Warriors and Ash Archers hustled, like a large tin of sardines. They no longer possessed the violent behavior they usually did, but instead displayed the instinctive fear of beasts.
