Chapter 300: 188 Mysterious Fighter Peacock (4200)_1

“Splutch! Splutch! Splutch!”

Those were the sounds of a hand knife slicing through bodies.

Casio averted his gaze, changing his direction and striding so distance away. At an unnoticeable corner, he used both his hands to climb over the wall, landing without a sound underfoot due to his effort.

He stood in the middle of a patch of overgrown weeds, carefully treading through while deliberately avoiding the rubble strewn on the ground.

Near a slightly damaged window…

Casio steadied himself, peering inside from the side.

It was a spacious church; the white marble floor was blanketed with gray dust and debris, cobwebs filled the corners, and an array of black and white objects were occasionally piled up. The originally religious carvings on the church walls were now obscure.

A series of white pillars surrounded the church hall.

In the center, a figure robed in black walked slowly.

On the ground lay a myriad of corpses from the Sand Dust Organization, so with their hands exposed, revealing the hourglass logos and rankings; they were not low-ranking mbers.

“52, 44, 21, 14, 5…”

As Casio’s gaze moved, he murmured to himself.

The antiques warehouse guarded by mbers of the Sand Dust Organization was indeed formidable, staffed by elite operatives. From the top fifteen ranks of the Sand Dust Organization, three had already erged, all capable of the Black Blood Transformation Burst.

If it weren’t for Casio, the forces deployed by the Black Spade “A” Organization alone would probably not be foolproof. Conservatively estimated, even the probability of plan failure wouldn’t be small.

But, it seed there had been an unexpected turn of events.

A mysterious individual from an unknown power had taken action.

bers of the Sand Dust Organization were all annihilated.

“Taptaptap…”

Footsteps echoed from another corner of the church hall.

A man in a white suit approached; he appeared to be in his thirties or forties – sharp features, an indifferent gaze, of average build, with a well-grood beard.

“Peacock…”

“Dison, have you found the Mirror of Illusion?”

The man robed in black spoke, his voice eerily reminiscent of air escaping from a bellows, each word strained from his throat.

“I found a basent where these folks probably stored antiques. But it’s locked and will require you to personally deal with it.”

Dison responded promptly, casting an indifferent glance at the corpses on the ground, seemingly well-acquainted with such bloody scenes.

“Alright.”

Without further ado, the two disappeared into the church corridor. An explosion-like sound emanated soon after from within.

After a mont, Peacock, the man in the black robe, and Dison, the man in the white suit, hoisted a large number of antiques into the hall.

The antiques were quite nurous and varied, from oil paintings and sculptures to necklaces and rings. Yet neither seed to hold much regard for these items as they rummaged through them persistently.

Finally, Peacock, still in a stooped position, suddenly stiffened.

He unearthed a mirror, about the size of a human head, without any mirrored surface but with a fra. The fra was cast from bronze, with a green patina on the surface. The mirror seed to have weathered many years, the originally intricate surface patterns now blurred.

“Found it…”

Excitent laced the voice of the man in a white suit as he looked over, “The legendary Mirror of Illusion, the mirror from the ancient Soma Myth said to possess the power to invert reality and illusion. It’s said to envelop the whole world in profound deceit.”

“Do you believe in it?” The black-robed man queried blandly.

“Well, since it’s a myth, it’s bound to be exaggerated.” The man in the white suit chuckled, “Sir Xiadu implies that the Mirror of Illusion is related to the legendary triple gates — the keystones and mysteries that lead to the roots of the world. Whatever it is, if it’s related to the triple gates, it won’t be simple.”

“It’s been over a year. At last, the Mirror of Illusion has been traced to North Flow Country. We can now report back.”

“Yes, you can report back.”

The voice of the man robed in black suddenly rang out from behind the man in the white suit.

With a swift and forceful hand knife thrust, the white-suited man was impaled right through. Fresh blood and fragnts of bone spewed out from his chest.

A mix of pain and disbelief etched onto the face of the man in white. He couldn’t comprehend why Peacock would suddenly attack his partner at the end of a mission. The two had been working together for three years, and ever since he joined this organization, he had always been assisting Peacock. Their relationship should be closer than most friends.

“Peacock… You…”

Coughing up blood, the man in white suit struggled to turn his head in agony.

“Now that the Mirror of Illusion has been found, you’re of no use. Die in peace.” Peacock’s voice was both old and cold.

“Why? Are you planning to betray the organization?!”

The man in the white suit was no ordinary person. Despite suffering a lethal attack, he clung onto life.

“Betray? No. I never planned on loyalty to this organization from the ti I joined it ten years ago. The organization has only ever been a ans for

to gather intelligence and information. Why should that bastard Xiadu do nothing to get the fragnt of the door while we toil across the world, uncovering pieces at great pains, to gift them to him?”

The man in the black robe was significantly agitated, like ten years of hidden thoughts were finally unleashed: “What do you think is my purpose in joining the organization? Isn’t it for those three doors that dominate? The ones that can give

back my youth and reopen my path to martial arts…”
