Chapter 256: 170 Magician (4000)_2
At the side of the pale yellow square table, a lady nad Heisha dines with grace, cutting a piece of pizza with a silver-forked knife. Every now and then, she takes a slight sip from the orange juice in her glass cup.
Perhaps it’s because she’s been beautiful since she was a child; she’s long immunized herself against the gazes of the opposite sex around her. Ignoring their existence, she casually adheres to the etiquette of the dining table.
Casio stood a few ters away, frowning.
There was… nothing on the back of his hand.
But that faint cold aura was so familiar.
After lunch, Casio walked out of the restaurant. Just a few steps down the road, he saw a crowd of people watching by the parasol next to the supermarket. The center of the crowd was a man in a tailored suit, tight trousers, and a black top hat, even in the hot weather.
He held a black and white striped wooden cane.
This was a magician, performing magic for the surrounding audience. He took out a deck of poker cards from his hand, took out one of them, gave it a light flick. The poker card actually rotated at a high speed and remained suspended in mid-air, spinning around an axis.
There were exclamations from the crowd.
So couldn’t resist going forward, waving their hands above and below the poker card, suspecting that there was a transparent line strung through it.
The magician simply smiled at everything in front of him, even took a step back to avoid blocking the audience’s view.
After the crowd had seen enough, he swiftly retrieved the poker card with a raise of his hand. The next second, he threw the whole deck of cards into the air, and then extended his right hand. All the cards flew back as if attracted by a magnet and, in the order of their suits and ranks, neatly fanned out from left to right.
This smooth operation garnered another round of cheering.
Casio took a long, hard look at the young magician, then continued on his way. Along the way, a group of teenagers dressed as students brushed past him, laughing and joking.
His steps halted, and Casio paused to look back.
A youth with his hands in his pockets walked coldly at the end. His eyes were a rare erald green.
“Interesting… truly interesting…”
Casio chuckled slightly, then continued to walk.
Ti flew by, and it was now nightfall.
Inside the villa complex, a dark shadow stands on the balcony of the third floor of a yellow-white apartnt that is nearly one hundred ters away from the villa. As quiet as a stiff human sculpture, he silently observed the scene below.
Dozens of ters away, the dim yellow light of the streetlights cast long shadows of the trees lining the road. In the shadows of the trees on the side of the road, three people stood there, seem to be discussing sothing.
Among the three, two were n and one was a woman. The woman was dressed in a white floral dress, with a slim and attractive figure. The two n also had sturdy figures, one with erald eyes and the other with fiery red hair.
“Ro, if Uncle Soro knew we ca to play in the Anta Mountains, we would be done for. Are you sure he’s really gone out for three days?” The redhead boy said.
“Of course, and not only is he out, but Uncle Soro has that sort of stuff to attend to, he definitely won’t be back soon.”
The boy with green eyes responded coldly.
“Well, That’s good.” The redhead nodded in relief.
The snow-white skinned girl by the side interjected, “During the dayti, I could feel a lot of people like us in this villa… No, I should say, new humans who transcend humans…”
Two minutes later, after their chat ended, the trio followed the road and walked in a certain direction. From the shadow of a nearby building, a tall man with an expressionless face slowly walked out.
“New humans?”
************************
Clouds obstructed the sky, with only a faint moonlight seeping through. The mountain wind blew, and the entire forest of trees rustled.
Near Blue Star Villa, not far from a large waterfall stairs, a dark figure walked along the road into the dense forest. He was dressed in a full black suit, still wearing the top hat. It is the magician from dayti.
Nearly a hundred ters away, three small figures hid behind a large stone on the side of the road. Every now and then they would peek out, and once they found the other party unaware, they quickly followed from afar.
“This way.”
“Be careful, don’t let him discover us.”
“Damn, if I knew I wouldn’t have worn a skirt.”
The three figures, dressed as students, trailed slowly behind.
Gradually, one ahead of the other, they walked at least five or six kiloters into the forest. The humidity in the air increased, and the tree crowns of the plants grew denser. Occasionally, they could hear the distant sound of gushing water – the sound of a waterfall crashing down.
The magician suddenly halted, turning around, he yelled, “Co out! Stop hiding. You’ve been following
all the way from the villa!”
Discovered!
Each of their hearts skipped a beat. As they hesitated whether to erge, a figure in a tight-fitting outfit suddenly sprang out from the nearby woods. It was a woman.
In the moonlight, the woman had a curvaceous figure and long, wine-red hair pulled into a ponytail behind her. It was the elegant and beautiful Heisha, now exuding an aura of fierceness.
Gone was the deanor of a noble lady.
“You shouldn’t have exposed , darling~ I was just curious where you were going in the middle of the night,” The woman’s voice was husky and languid.
Just like a Persian cat stretching after getting up.
Indeed, her eyes were cat-like, with pupils similar to those of felines. They were fascinating, yet dangerous.
“Hehe, do you think I’m going to believe that? Isn’t every New Human who cos to the Anta Mountains here for the pure dark magic water? Looking for a fight? Pity, you’ve picked the wrong opponent…”
The Magician squinted his eyes, a dangerous aura leaked from his eyebrows. His right hand moved with an afterimage, sohow pulling out a deck of poker cards. With a whoosh!
A Black Spade “A” was launched into the air, spinning at high speed.
It didn’t seem very fast when it was released but as it continued to fly in the air, it sped up, turning into a blurry afterimage.
“ow~”
A lazy, charming ow echoed under the moonlight.
Heisha swiftly dodged the attack, the poker card zood past her and struck the ground. With a muffled thud, it embedded deep, revealing it was made of tal, not paper!
Sharp-edged, great for cutting!
If that heavy blow had cut across an ordinary human’s neck, the head would likely have been severed straight off.
“Telekinesis, you belong to the ntalist Association~”
Heisha was now leaning against a tree trunk in an incredibly flexible posture, her stunning figure even more pronounced. At this mont, she no longer resembled a human, but a half-human half-cat being. Razor-sharp cat claws dug into the tree trunk for support, her ears pointy and her thin, white teeth pressing against her flaming red lips.
“Beastman Transformation?”
The magician raised his eyebrow. However, his hands didn’t stop moving, he spread his palm and bespoke tal poker cards flew out one after another, like a celestial maiden scattering flowers.
The tal cards spun at a high speed, drawing dangerous arcs in the air, reflecting the white moonlight. A whistling sound echoed.
Half-human half-cat Heisha’s senses were astonishing, and her movents were incredibly agile. She dodged the intensive attacks while rapidly maneuvering through the forest, constantly getting closer to the magician.
Missed tal cards struck the ground, piercing into tree trunks, embedding into stones. “Clang clang clang!” A bunch of sparks exploded on the side of a stone, cutting off several fragnts.
“Damn!”
The red-haired boy hiding behind a stone quickly pulled his head back in, a strand of red hair severed by a tal card fell to the ground.
“They’re pretty fierce, that’s as powerful as a handgun, isn’t it?”
The red-haired boy exclaid in a low voice.
The girl in a dress next to him had a stunned expression on her face. This level of power was definitely of a New Human at the second, maybe even the third phase. A battle between experts indeed.
The green-eyed youth lightly touched a faint scratch on his arm, his already cold face turned even gloomier.
Whoosh!
The sharp silver poker card spun rapidly in the air, bisecting a falling leaf in mid-air. From the shadows of the forest, two blurred fingers reached out. Clang! The poker card was caught directly between them, perfectly still.
Casio pulled back his hand and casually squeezed. The tal card creaked and was squished like putty into a ball the size of a fingertip. The small, silver tal ball dropped to the ground.
“This power… so wasteful.”
“I thought it was so mysteriously powerful new mutant that had appeared. Turns out it’s just a bunch of Eerie Night Guests… looks like it’s a watered-down version… Cat People,”
