Chapter 187: 140 False Death Elixir (4100)_2

“Nothing out of the ordinary happened last night, as usual, a few of us and Sara wandered around the town, eating so of Jinghu City’s local cuisines. This morning when we woke up, Sara was still there, she said she wanted to go downstairs for a walk, unexpectedly she went missing. Later, when we went looking for her, we only found a necklace that her mother gave her on the side of Mirror Lake…”

“You an that blonde college student? I saw her walking around the town in the morning, she was heading towards Mirror Lake, that was probably around six in the morning. Afterwards, her companions were asking around and looking for her in town…”

On the outskirts of the town, Burton turned and asked a police officer.

“Any useful clues?”

“No, but colleagues from our other team are searching around Mirror Lake. The police departnt has mobilized more officers than usual this ti, so we should be able to gather so important clues.”

Over an hour later, in the dense forest on the east side of Mirror Lake.

White clouds floated in the azure sky, and the rays of sunlight penetrating the treetops made the green leaves sparkle. The wind rustling through the trees created waves and constant noises resembling raindrop sounds, coming from afar and then close again.

One mont it was to the east, the next mont it was to the west.

In a clearing where the trees were sparse, the sunlight cast long, mottled shadows from between the leaves, warm yet cool.

The surrounding landscape appeared to be extrely tranquil and comfortable.

Except for the corpse lying on the ground.

Burton, in his blue police uniform, wiped the sweat off his forehead from ti to ti. He was a sowhat heavy-set man with a large face. Standing next to Burton was a tall, thin man with a hooked nose who had a black pipe in his mouth.

Chief Randy of the Special Mobile Corps.

After taking a puff from his pipe, Randy said to Burton, “It’s strange, isn’t it? It looks like she was taken away by a wild beast, but there are no bite marks on her body, only holes on her neck…”

Both their gazes fell on the female corpse lying on the ground. Her clothes were neat; there were no signs of a struggle. Her face before death seed sowhat bewildered and pale. The wounds were located on her slender neck, with three pairs of hole marks, like she was bitten by a snake.

A few minutes later, the forensic departnt presented its preliminary findings.

The woman died of severe blood loss, but it wasn’t because the wound bled dry; the blood was sucked dry by a certain creature. The three pairs of holes on the woman’s neck were the traces left by that creature sucking the blood.

“A wolf? A brown bear? A tiger? Or sothing like a bat?”

Seeing the report, Burton racked his brains. However, he couldn’t think of any creature that could suck all the blood from an adult human’s body, leaving only a few small puncture wounds.

“Take the report back to the director…”

Three days later, on June 21st in the 107th year of the Hong Li Federation calendar.

“Another missing person case!? This is the fifteenth one this month!”

With a headache, Burton slamd his head and put the newspaper in his hand on the table, then rose and quickly walked toward the director’s office.

Two minutes later.

“We are helpless in this matter…”

Director Kenneth sighed: “We can only try to do our job, after all, we are dealing with sothing else…” his voice trailed off: “I reported this to my superiors three days ago, they said they would send a specialist to handle this…”

“Judging by the ti, he should be arriving soon…”

Kenneth and Burton chatted for a while before a faint knock sounded from beyond the door, about ten minutes later.

“Co in.” Kenneth looked up.

A police officer quickly ca in.

“Director, there’s a strangely dressed man outside who wants to see you, we temporarily put him in the hall.”

“Strangely dressed?” Burton asked incredulously.

“Yes, he is wearing all black. A wide-brimd sun hat, a trench coat, sunglasses, a face mask, and gloves too.” The officer’s face was odd, clearly, he had never t such a strange person before.

On the other side, Jinghu City train station.

A steam train whistled as it stopped on the platform.

“Passengers please alight, we have arrived at Jinghu City.” The conductor ca down from the train, managing the crowd and shouting out loud.

One by one, passengers carrying travel cases quickly left the platform.

“Is there anyone still on the train? We have arrived at Jinghu City!”

The conductor shouted into the carriage.

A few seconds later, a tall and handso silhouette ca out from the carriage. His long blonde hair, flamboyant like a lion’s mane, glittered brilliantly in the sunlight. The surrounding passengers all turned to look, but none approached, seemingly awestruck by his remarkably handso face and perfect figure.

The station attendant nearby was suddenly stuck, seemingly awestruck by this passenger’s outstanding appearance and indescribable aura.

The blond man, on the other hand, seed not to care about the attention around him. He looked up at the blue sky, a line of white birds flying by.

The clouds were soft, obscuring half of the sun.

“What nice weather… No wonder my uncle chose to retire here…”

The man muttered to himself. Then, under the gaze of the station attendant, he pushed his way through the crowd, carrying a travel case toward the distance.

It was the sa platform in the afternoon.

The sky was yellow, with constantly changing cloud colors. Just like a painter’s palette, yellow and red were mixed together. The clouds looked like a golden field or a shimring sea surface.

Another steam train belching steam arrived at the station.

In the call of the train conductor, a large number of vacationers got off the train, quickly regrouping in threes and fives and leaving with clear goals.

Thud.

Black shoes landed on the platform.

A tall man stepped down. He was about one ter and ninety centiters tall. He wore a grayish T-shirt on the upper half of his body and long black trousers below. He was holding a large travel case that was at least twice as big as those of average tourists.

But it did not seem out of place, perhaps because of the man’s burly physique; the box looked small in his hand.

The man stood on the platform, looked at his watch, and then walked into the crowd of surrounding tourists.

The next morning, at Lillian Luxury Apartnts.

Casio opened his eyes on the bed. A sliver of sunlight ca through the gap in the curtains, dividing the white sheet into two halves. He got up, washed up quickly, and walked into the spacious living room.

There was a knock on the door.

“Mr. Dusk, your breakfast is here.”

Outside the door was a crisp and sweet female voice.

“Okay.”

Casio went to open the door.

Outside stood a beautiful woman with a graceful figure. She looked young and was wearing a uniform.

In her fair hands, she was holding a tray, waiting quietly.

“Co in.”

Casio went back into the room, and the female attendant ca in to place the breakfast on the table and then respectfully withdrew.

Lillian Luxury Apartnts had so similarities with hotel service.

Casio sat down at the table and started eating his first breakfast since arriving in Jinghu City. As he ate, he pondered the data almost ingrained in his mind. It would not be easy to locate the Akaba Ruins using this information. After all, only a region had been targeted, which could only be considered progress.

In the end, whether the ruins could be found within a month or so remained uncertain, but Casio was already prepared to flee at any mont.

After breakfast, he casually picked up the Jinghu City morning newspaper that ca with the breakfast tray. A bold headline was prominently displayed.

“Serial disappearances shock Jinghu City!”

The article then outlined the general situation of the case, stating that in a month, twenty disappearance cases had occurred in Jinghu City, including both local residents and visitors. The police had found three corpses, all of which had died of blood loss, as if drained by sothing!

“Blood Clan?” Casio shook his head indifferently.

Such reports were not uncommon in all regions, so of them real, so fake. It was no surprise that it made it into the newspapers.

He continued reading the report.

The report ntioned that almost all the missing persons were on the side of Jinghu City near the Alfama Mountains. Moreover, so traces suggested that the victims had been taken into the mountains.

“Wait!”

“Jinghu, mountains, dense forest, Blood Clan, ruins…”

Multiple elents were pieced together, gradually forming a pattern.

Casio couldn’t help but mutter to himself, a vague image from Dusk’s mory seed ready to erge in his mind.
