Chapter 08: Isn’t It Obvious? What Else Would You Do at a Hotel?
Just as she got ho, Zheng Wanqing thought she was probably done for this ti.
But fortunately, her dad didn’t seem to be ho today.
“Jie, where’s Dad?” Zheng Wanqing looked at her older sister Zheng Wanyu, who was doing her makeup in the living room.
Without pausing her makeup, Zheng Wanyu said, “Dad had an ergency eting at the company. He’ll probably be working late.”
“So that ans… Dad’s not coming ho tonight, right?”
Zheng Wanqing let out a sigh of relief. No matter what, at least she’d dodged a bullet for now.
Zheng Wanyu set down her mirror and said with a serious face, “Don’t celebrate too soon.”
“Even though Mom and Dad are tied up in etings and couldn’t co ho—”
“They did tell to co back and have a good talk with you.”
“Ugh, co on, Jie! You used to love the most growing up! I don’t believe you’d be so cruel as to interrogate ,” Zheng Wanqing cried out miserably.
“Save it. That trick doesn’t work on anymore.”
Zheng Wanyu’s expression remained stern. “Sit down. I have sothing to ask you.”
“Okay…”
Zheng Wanqing obediently sat next to her.
Zheng Wanyu was twenty-six this year, two to three years older than Zheng Wanqing.
After graduating from university, she took on the position of HR director in their family business.
If it weren’t for having to clean up her younger sister’s ss— She would’ve still been working overti at the company.
“Spill it. What happened?”
Zheng Wanyu asked, “Didn’t Dad already warn you?”
“He told you not to date anyone during university, right?”
“So what’s with all this now?”
“Who’s that guy, and what were you two doing at the hotel last night?”
“Damn it…” Zheng Wanyu muttered to herself. “Isn’t it obvious? What else would you even do at a hotel?”
“Forget it. Don’t say anything. Co with to the hospital, now.”
Zheng Wanqing panicked. “Jie, why are you taking to the hospital?”
“Isn’t it obvious? I want to get you checked out. I need to know if you’re still…”
Before Zheng Wanyu could finish her sentence, Zheng Wanqing cut her off. “Jie! How can you be like this? I know I shouldn’t have secretly dated behind your back.”
“But I like him.”
“And he’s good to .”
“Even though… he’s a year younger than , he’s very mature.”
“And it’s just a year, not a big deal, right? It’s not like we have so huge age-gap or anything.”
“I… I only kept it a secret because I was afraid you guys wouldn’t approve.”
Zheng Wanyu sat back on the sofa and asked, “So, what you’re saying is… You slept with him?”
Unlike her more straightforward sister, Zheng Wanqing was easily flustered.
When it ca to this topic, she was especially shy and just lowered her head in silence.
Well then, it was pretty clear that her little sister had lost her virginity to that guy.
The two sisters had grown up together.
Though only a few years apart, Zheng Wanyu had always doted on her one and only sister.
It wasn’t just their parents who were against her dating during university—Zheng Wanyu also firmly disapproved.
Their parents may have been concerned from a business perspective.
After all, being born into a wealthy family ant that marriages weren’t entirely their own choice.
Everything had to be considered in terms of the company’s interests.
But Zheng Wanyu didn’t care about all that corporate nonsense.
What she worried about—was her sister falling for a scumbag!
Even though Zheng Wanqing excelled academically, she was way too naïve. The type that could be easily deceived.
No way. She had to et that guy herself.
At the very least, she needed to confirm whether he was a scumbag or not.
“Jie, aren’t you guys being a little too sensitive?”
“I’m already in my twenties. Isn’t dating normal?”
“Isn’t your reaction… a bit too much?”
“Besides, my boyfriend’s good to . I an it.”
Zheng Wanyu said, “Cut it out. Do you even know how much trouble that photo caused Mom and Dad?”
“The dia’s been calling nonstop today. Their phones nearly exploded.”
“Just because I have a boyfriend?”
“That can’t be it, right?”
Zheng Wanyu said, “You think it’s no big deal?”
“You have no idea how serious this is.”
“Let put it this way. A few days ago, Mom and Dad and I were invited to a high-profile business gala…”
