Chapter: The Looming Threat

---

The atmosphere in Adam’s room was tense. Phantom, her translucent blue form hovering effortlessly in the air, continued to emit red energy waves from the crystal embedded in her forehead.

The waves spread across the room, pulsing outward into the city.

Her eyes remained closed as she focused, her glowing figure a symbol of hope amid the growing danger.

Adam is shocked every ti he sees her body and wonders how he created such a being, and now he is even more shocked when he sees the Phantom’s power working.

Everyone in Adam’s room is waiting for Phantom’s reply as to when she will find everyone, and is quietly looking at her.

Before anyone could say a word, Pratham’s voice broke through the silence, resonating from Adam’s monitor.

"Lord Adam, we’ve just lost several satellites we had hacked for surveillance. It appears the Cosmic Being is targeting our facilities."

Adam’s gaze shifted sharply from Phantom to Pratham’s digital form on the screen.

His mind raced as he tried to connect the dots. Does the Cosmic Being already know about Phantom? Has he realized her ability to cancel his surveillance?

He must have known that’s why he is now targeting the assets of my other creations. Adam is thinking about all these things and also starts worrying a lot because Pratham’s satellites are very useful for Adam whenever there is an ergency situation but now they have been completely destroyed by the Cosmic being which is not good for Adam

Adam’s thoughts darkened. If he knows this much, then he likely knows my weaknesses too. He clenched his fists, a mix of frustration and fear running through him.

Suddenly, Phantom opened her eyes, her voice cutting through Adam’s turmoil. "Lord Adam, I’ve located almost all the power holders within a 10-kiloter radius. They are alive, and none of them have been attacked yet."

Adam’s heart skipped a beat. He turned toward her, his eyes wide with surprise. "They’re alive?" he repeated, his tone disbelieving.

After listening to phantom, Adam feels very relieved and thinks that everyone is fine now. I thought that many power holders have been killed, but Adam was not able to understand this why were all the power holders whom Adam was searching for killed?

Phantom nodded confidently. "Yes, Lord Adam. None of them are under imdiate threat."

But Adam’s expression hardened as a realization dawned on him. No, this can’t be right. His thoughts spiraled. The power holders weren’t killed because the Cosmic Being didn’t know their locations. They were killed because their locations were provided to him... by .

As soon as Adam understands this, he feels very sad and says in his mind that I am the reason for the killing of all those power holders and the death of their families.

The weight of this realization hit Adam like a tidal wave. He felt an unbearable guilt clawing at his chest as he whispered to himself, "It was because of ... My actions led to their deaths."

Standing behind Adam, Zero watched his creator’s expression shift to one of anguish.

Understanding the turmoil brewing within Adam, Zero stepped forward and spoke softly, "Lord Adam, this isn’t your fault. You didn’t know you were being watched. None of us did."

Adam’s attention turns to Zero and after listening to him, Adam shakes his head and says to Zero, "Thank you."

Adam exhaled deeply, his shoulders slumping as he processed Zero’s words. He nodded slightly but remained silent, his guilt unshaken.

Before he could respond, the sharp ring of his phone shattered the stillness.

Adam instinctively reached for it, his brow furrowing as he saw the caller ID. It was Ani.

"Ani?" he muttered, his voice tinged with concern. Without hesitation, he answered the call, pressing the phone to his ear. "Hello, Ani? Is everything alright?"

Instead of Ani’s familiar voice, Adam was greeted by a cold, mocking laugh. The voice on the other end sent a chill down his spine.

"Hello, Adam," Krish said, his tone dripping with malice. "It’s good to hear from you again."

Adam’s heart sank. The color drained from his face as a mix of fear and rage surged through him. "Krish!" he spat, his voice trembling. "What are you doing there? Where’s Ani?"

Krish chuckled darkly. "Oh, Adam. Always so predictable. Don’t worry, Ani is safe... for now. But I can’t promise that will remain the case in the future."

Adam’s mind raced. His eyes darted to Pratham’s avatar on the monitor. I need to act fast.

Telepathically, he called out to Pratham. Pratham, find out what’s happening at Ani’s house imdiately.

Pratham’s reply ca swiftly but carried a tone of urgency. "Lord Adam, we’re facing heavy cyberattacks. It seems the Cosmic Being is trying to cut us off from the internet completely. Our servers are being targeted, and we’re constantly changing our IP addresses to stay hidden. But we’re struggling to keep up."

Adam’s jaw clenched. The Cosmic Being’s reach was far greater than he had anticipated. This isn’t just a battle of power—it’s a battle of information and control.

Adam’s gaze shifted to Phantom, her glowing form still radiating calm amidst the chaos.

Telepathically, he reached out to her. Phantom, Ani is in danger. I need you to go to her house imdiately and protect her.

Phantom turned to face Adam, her translucent eyes eting his. She nodded without hesitation. "Understood, Lord Adam."

Without another word, Phantom’s body began to shimr. In an instant, she vanished, leaving behind only a faint trace of energy in the air.

Adam stared at the spot where Phantom had been, his mind racing with worry. The Cosmic Being won’t stop until he’s taken everything from . But I won’t let him win.
