Jin Ye thought like this in his mind, but while ideals are plump, reality is indeed very gaunt. He watched as Tang Ye’s upper and lower lips parted, and in that instant, ti seed to stretch on unbearably long in his eyes, even the ordinarily inconsequential second seeming like an eternity to Jin Ye at that mont.
Under his gaze, Tang Ye slowly uttered two words, "Of course!"
Those two words, like the sharpest of swords, instantly pierced through all his illusions!
His gaze shifted from Tang Ye’s bewitchingly handso face. Perhaps his mind was too scrambled by the affirmation in Tang Ye’s words to notice anything else, he didn’t see that Tang Ye’s teeth, which were no different from a normal person’s, had turned into sharp, triangular shark teeth, and the corners of his mouth had split to his ears, revealing a bloodthirsty, demonic smile towards him.
His complexion was the sa as that of a normal person; he didn’t notice this abnormality.
Jin Ye looked towards the Hatred hiding behind the screen. It was gravely injured, lying on the ground, blood ceaselessly flowing from its body, staining the floor a bright red. Despite this, the Hatred’s eyes were fixed on him, its mouth opening and closing, lips wriggling, as if it were saying sothing.
It was still laughing as well, laughing crazily, silently, but that smile was the most chilling!
Jin Ye watched its lips, mimicked for a while, and a second later knew what it was saying.
"I will watch you, watch your face as you despair in the final second of your life!"
That sa sentence, heard at a different ti, stirred completely different feelings. The Hatred had said those words not long ago, and having now realized it, it felt as if those words from that ti, from that second, were deeply etched into his heart, like so kind of curse, its incantation replaying over and over in his mind.
"I will watch you, watch your face as you despair in the final second of your life!"
"No!" Jin Ye suddenly stumbled backward several steps, letting out a roar, veins bulging on his forehead, while at his side, Lv Jinyu also turned around swiftly and started to run at the sound of his shout!
He thought Tang Ye would chase after him, but unexpectedly, Tang Ye made no move. A ringing sound seed to co from his pocket, and he leisurely took out his phone and answered the call.
"Hello?"
"Marshal, the evacuation of the residents around the area is complete. Everyone inside now belongs to our Peace Party. We can proceed with the blockade. Please, Marshal, give the order."
Tang Ye nodded and casually responded, "Proceed with the blockade, starting now. Let no living thing leave until the slaughter is over!"
"Yes!" The person on the other end answered, and then Tang Ye hung up the call.
anwhile, two kiloters away from Snow Moon Pavilion, a dense, indistinct horde of zombies ford a circle, trapping Snow Moon Pavilion within!
Transport vehicles drove into the Central United District, and a few soldiers took charge, opening the rear doors of the vehicles one after another. Inside the vehicles, instead of soldiers, there were groups of rotten, foul-slling, seemingly famished evolved zombies!
As soon as the doors opened, these evolved zombies roared at the soldiers outside, but seemingly frightened by sothing, they didn’t proceed to devour the soldiers, only roaring at them!
Until a person, wrapped tightly in a coat, appeared—zombies cowered on the ground at the sight of him, like mice upon seeing a cat. The roars that had filled the air grew quieter and quieter, until, at last, not a single zombie made a sound.
The mysterious figure let down the hood that was covering his head to reveal an ordinary but eerily unsettling face, as a soldier stepped forward to speak with him.
"Vice Chairman, over there,"
the soldier gestured toward a certain direction. The person nodded, then uttered a syllable towards the horde of zombies. Excited, all the zombies let out a roar towards the sky and charged toward the direction the soldier had pointed!
Lv Jinyu, running away, was overjoyed to see Tang Ye not pursuing him and sped up. But as he reached the vermilion gates of the Pine Smoke Hall, the lifeform detector integrated into his Predator Exoskeleton Battle Suit suddenly sounded an alarm.
[Beep~ Beep... Twelve o’clock direction, zombified danger detected, energy index at 23117. Target is extrely dangerous, classified as a Level 6 zombie, ten ters away, closing in rapidly. Cease your actions imdiately!]
"What?"
Lv Jinyu was briefly stunned, his reaction delayed. But soon, he saw a dark shadow flash down from above, and under the light of the night lamps, the details of the shadow beca clear. It was about the height of a man, roughly one ter seventy-eight, its body covered with dense and orderly scales, like an ancient suit of armor. Its head was protected by black, horn-like keratin, and its eyes were a pale void. The nature of the creature needed no explanation.
"A Level 6 zombie!"
He shouted, coming to an abrupt stop. Drawing his serrated knife, he focused intensely on the Level 6 zombie.
The fact that a Level 6 zombie was hiding amongst the Peace Party sent chills down his spine!
"Run, why aren’t you running now?"
Tang Ye’s voice ca from behind him. At that mont, Lv Jinyu was filled with remorse but knew he had no choice but to continue on the path he’d chosen, especially with Li Henian’s ruthlessness—he was certain he wouldn’t survive the day.
On that account, he couldn’t afford the slightest hope of luck.
To die standing or to die kneeling—he was dood either way. It was better to die with dignity, at the very least to retain so semblance of pride!
Lv Jinyu, turning his serrated knife toward Tang Ye, shouted angrily, "Li Henian, I’m taking you down with !"
"Is that so? What about you then?" Tang Ye didn’t take him seriously at all, instead turning to address Jin Ye.
Jin Ye glanced behind him to see the Peace Party, initially at a disadvantage in the courtyard outside the Pine Smoke Hall, gradually gaining the upper hand. Hordes of evolved zombies were appearing from nowhere, entering the battlefield from all directions. Their targets were clear—they were all going after the strong mbers of the rcenary Guild!
And the soldiers of the Peace Party were only too happy to coordinate with the horde, weaving through the zombies and occasionally ambushing the Guild’s strong mbers.
Even though they were outfitted with Predator Exoskeleton Battle Suits, many of the strong were overwheld by the onslaught of evolved zombies before they could even strike, so toppled over by a dozen or more as soon as they entered the battlefield, torn apart the mont they managed to fight free, only to be pinned down by even more zombies the next second!
