When they first arrived in the city’s east, Tang Ye noticed the streets were completely devoid of any zombies. He was quite relieved, strolling down the wide roads along with Ah Fu and Little Nannan. He felt no need to worry about anything strange.

If there was sothing amiss, it’d be from the behavior of the zombies, but that didn’t bother him--he was one of them, after all, so he had no fears.

However, Tang Ye had seldom visited the eastern district before the Apocalypse, so he was unfamiliar with the roads. He could only wander around, hoping he might stumble onto the infant supply store they sought.

However, once the sun had unwittingly set and darkness fell, these strange zombies, seemingly flayed bald, began to erge one-by-one from the dark corners, surrounding Tang Ye, Ah Fu, and Little Nannan.

They seed to only be interested in Little Nannan clinging to Ah Fu’s neck, uttering gurgling calls. Yet, they were unlike other zombies. They seed aware that Tang Ye, being a zombie of a higher caliber, posed a threat to them. They held back, hesitating to advance, as if afraid!

Roar!

Tang Ye demonstratively roared at the group of zombies, causing a montary stir. However, they quickly reverted to calmness.

Tang Ye wore a frustrated expression. He realized he couldn’t establish a ntal connection with them, as though they were on a different wavelength. He even attempted to have Ah Fu establish a ntal link, but the feedback indicated it was beyond control!

"What kind of creatures are these!"

Tang Ye rasped as if cursing the strange zombies hemming them in. He took a step forward, causing the zombies ahead to recoil in fear!

"Get the hell out of my way!"

Clatter!

Whenever he saw these flayed-skin zombies eyeing Little Nannan hungrily, Tang Ye’s left bony arm would turn into a spike and strike towards them. Once he had caught hold of them, he flung the large volu of zombies down with one powerful yank!

"Die, you sons of bitches!"

An astounding murderous intent erupted from Tang Ye’s ferocious face, causing the Night Demons lying on the ground to wither and shrivel up. Soon after, they lay motionless.

Ah Fu from behind also let out a roar. He opened his two barrel-thick arms, grabbed two Night Demons, then slamd their heads together fiercely. Blood and flesh splattered, spilling their ghastly white brains all over the place!

"These are zombies?"

Tang Ye frowned deeply, having drained the residual energy from ten of the Night Demons. He realized that all combined, they possessed only half the energy of a normal zombie. This left Tang Ye utterly baffled!

His gaze shifted back towards the group. Their skin severely peeled off, hinting at a state of prolonged starvation. Their aura felt colder than any other zombies Tang Ye had ever co across before!

This group differed from regular zombies in that they were afraid of higher-ranked zombies even when standing before their prey. Tang Ye rembered how any zombie he previously t would rush towards humans recklessly unless controlled by him, regardless of them being common or advanced!

Upon seeing this group, too scared to attack yet fixated greedily on Little Nannan on Ah Fu’s shoulder, making clucking noises, Tang Ye’s eyes flared with a combination of disgust and furious rage.

"A bunch of jerks, get out of my way! Or else I’ll tear you apart!"

Whoosh, roar!

Tang Ye took a step forward, frightening the zombies in front and causing them to retreat. Ah Fu also began to frantically reel his giant-like body, clearing the way through the Night Demons!

These zombies provided too little energy, and given the multitude of them, Tang Ye couldn’t be bothered to kill them. It would be a waste of his energy.

During the day, Tang Ye hadn’t spotted a single one of them. But as dusk approached, they began to appear one after another. This led Tang Ye to surmise that these zombies followed a crepuscular pattern. At this point, the most viable option was to find shelter from these damnable beasts!

The two zombies leading Nannan proceeded onward, and the Night Demons in front began to woefully back away, growling intensely at Little Nannan as they retreated, their eyes glead malevolently under a green glow.

Seeing that while they walked, the zombies would give way, Tang Ye promptly commanded Ah Fu to accelerate their pace. So of the bolder Night Demons attempted to leap up to snatch Nannan but were instantly decapitated by Ah Fu’s enormous jaws!

En route, Tang Ye and Ah Fu forced the lot into a residential compound. They entered a building, turned back to see a throng of zombies crowding the path behind them. He grabbed the iron railing by the side, smashed it towards them blocking their way, then ordered Ah Fu to eliminate a few who had creeped in. After this, they finally approached a door.

Inside the room, a fire was burning in the living room, surrounded by four n and a battered girl, bruised all over her face.

"No more rat at, huh?"

"None! Those were the only few. Damn, you three eat like pigs, and all the rats get finished!"

"Fuck, rats don’t have much at. How many days can we last on them?"

"I can’t stand it anymore, fuck, how long can we survive like this?"

The four of them grumbled about the lack of food, so even squeezed the scanty flesh on their bodies, contemplating how long they could survive.

Suddenly, a man with triangular eyes shifted his gaze towards a girl who had contracted into a ball. His eyes sparkled with an ominous flash.

"We don’t have much rat at, but isn’t there plenty available on a human body?"

"What, what are you planning?"

Another man stared at him incredulously, seemingly catching on to his intentions. He followed his gaze, resting it on the girl.

"You an to...eat...her?"

"What else?"

"What!"

The two others were taken aback and stared at the man with triangular eyes in disbelief. anwhile, the girl who was curled up heard this and stared at them montarily, then stretched her hand clutching her knee up towards her chest, as if looking for sothing.

"If we don’t eat her, we won’t survive long. The governnt seems to be in no condition to help us now. I have no other choice!"

"Have you gone mad? Do you know what you’re saying?"

"How could I not? Do whatever you want, live or die, I choose to live. Who can stand eating cockroaches and rats daily? If we don’t turn into zombies, we’ll surely contract diseases!"

"Ugh...well...what if we really...did that?! Brother Sheng also seems to be right!"

The other two fell silent, struggling internally. They could perhaps manage to loot and exploit, but cannibalism represented a moral taboo. It was tough to make such a call!

After a long pause, the two n finally lifted their heads. At this mont, their desire for survival overruled their moral conscience, turning them into demons!

"Co on, let’s eat! She’s of no use alive anyway!"

"That’s right, let’s eat her! But before we kill her, let’s have so fun first!"

A man with an evil smile on his face got up from the floor and walked towards the girl, then pinned her down. The girl, however, drew a shard of glass from her chest and plunged it fiercely into her own neck.

"Even if I turn into a ghost, I’ll never let you off!"
