As Tang Ye crossed one leg over the other, all the Death Knights below arranged themselves into two neat rows, and at the entrance of the great hall, Death Knights kept entering.
Seeing this scene, Yi Huansha felt uncomfortable all over. She now realized that this was not a place where she should be.
This place, was about to beco a battlefield!
Fortunately, at this mont Tang Ye looked at her and said, "You’re not needed here anymore, hurry up and leave."
"Yes, yes, yes!" Yi Huansha quickly nodded in agreent, her deanor no longer that of the enchanting beauty she had been earlier.
Gathering her skirt, she lowered her head and quickly strode through the crowd of soldiers, leaving Snow Moon Pavilion.
It was only after she had gone that Tang Ye turned his gaze to all the soldiers present.
"Gentlen, you should all know why you are here now, shouldn’t you?"
No one below responded, but each face was exceedingly solemn.
Tang Ye continued to speak, but just as he opened his mouth, Xu Changchi entered the great hall.
"Hmm?"
"Report, Marshal, all the troops reserved in the Central United District have arrived."
Tang Ye nodded and waved toward Xu Changchi.
"Open the doors, let the sunlight in."
"Yes!"
Xu Changchi responded and then led a few soldiers to open the large vermilion doors with gold trim at the front of the great hall.
Yuan Tang Ye’s gaze, however, was fixed on sothing outside the door. Indeed, outside there really was a person.
The heavy doors grinding against the ground made a deep noise, and as several New Human soldiers put their strength into it, a crack of light began to show between the tightly closed doors. This sliver of light thickened steadily until finally, the plaza in front of Snow Moon Pavilion was revealed.
In view were the New Human soldiers standing rigidly outside, not a single one of their strengths below Level 3. Looking around, there were Level 3 New Human Stronghouses everywhere, with quite a few Level 4 New Humans mixed in among them.
They stood in a tidy formation, their expressions stern and their aura fierce as they faced Tang Ye seated in the highest position.
Yet at the doorway stood a man soaked in blood, it was none other than Bai Huipeng.
His eyes were bloodshot at the mont, clearly having been through a slaughter, and the large and small wounds on his body were a shocking sight.
What once was an intact suit of Black Exoskeleton Battle Armor hung in tatters on his body, having lost its intended function.
At the mont the doors opened, his gaze turned to Tang Ye, silent as ever. The soldiers in the great hall looked on with puzzled expressions.
That Bai Huipeng was in such disarray caught them off guard.
Bai Huipeng looked at Tang Ye for a long ti and then suddenly, he bent down sharply, kneeling on one knee.
"President, I... I am incapable!"
Tang Ye watched him in silence and finally shook his head, saying, "Stand up, it’s not your fault."
Now Tang Ye realized why Bai Huipeng hadn’t answered the phone earlier. It was very likely that he was in a battle at the ti. During the course of a battle, one mont of inattention could cost one’s life, let alone taking ti out to answer soone’s phone call?
Tang Ye’s words did not make Bai Huipeng relax. He still maintained the position of kneeling on one knee, and with that movent, the scattered pieces of his Exoskeleton Battle Armor fell to the ground. If one looked closely, they could see many notches too nurous to count on the blade of his zombie-slaying sword at his waist.
One could only imagine the kind of fierce battle he had endured.
Seeing him not getting up, Tang Ye felt sowhat helpless, but ultimately he raised his voice and demanded, "Get up for !"
Finally stirred by Tang Ye’s faintly murderous tone, Bai Huipeng got to his feet.
"How did the battle go?" Tang Ye inquired.
At this question, Bai Huipeng appeared sowhat hesitant. After a mont’s silence, he mustered the courage to respond, "Exerting all my strength, I managed to kill two Level 4 New Humans from the enemy side."
"What!"
"Impossible, right?"
"Isn’t the minister a Level 5 New Human? He had to use all his strength just to kill two Level 4 New Humans? And yet, he’s this badly injured."
It was now clear to all with discerning eyes how seriously injured Bai Huipeng was.
Tang Ye was not surprised by his answer. That he had managed to kill two was already comndable!
Before Tang Ye could say anything, the knights of the Dead Knight Corps below erupted in disbelief—all of them surprised by the answer. Even if things went badly, how could he have sustained such severe injuries?
In his heart, Bai Huipeng was uneasy. He knew very well what he had encountered. It was just a sudden encounter with four Level 4 New Human enemies, leading to combat.
As a Level 5 New Human, facing several Level 4 New Humans should have been an easy victory. However, the outco was him being heavily wounded, suffering crush injuries to multiple bones, and despite fighting with all his might, he had only managed to kill two Level 4 New Humans!
To have such a battle outco made him feel extrely ashad, too embarrassed to face anyone.
He had thought that when he reported these results, he would see Tang Ye display a "spectacular" reaction. However, against expectation, he could see no trace of emotion on Tang Ye’s face. It was calm, as if Tang Ye had already anticipated such an outco.
"President..." He thought Tang Ye was stunned and tentatively called out.
"It’s fine. This is quite good already."
The next mont, the words that ca out of Tang Ye’s mouth completely petrified Bai Huipeng, and they were not just to console Bai Huipeng—they were truly sincere. It was indeed quite good!
Considering how he, controlling a Level 5 zombie beast, managed to kill only a few Level 4 New Humans who were not wearing Black Exoskeleton Battle Armor, and seriously injured three or four wearing them. Although for a zombie, the injuries were at most moderate to severe, such battle results were still a cause for sha.
And yet Bai Huipeng had killed two Level 4 New Humans wearing that kind of Black Exoskeleton Battle Armor. Regardless of the thods he used, it was indeed comndable!
Bai Huipeng was left sowhat dumbfounded, looking into Tang Ye’s eyes, wondering if what he had said was true.
What does "quite good already" an? He’s a Level 5 New Human, not Level 3 or 4. To produce such battle results against enemies of a lower rank and call it good?
He looked at Tang Ye incredulously, his mind buzzing.
"But... this situation is quite special. They are not as we thought..." Bai Huipeng wanted to remind Tang Ye of sothing, but he didn’t know how to articulate it.
"No need to say more. You guys, help him to the Military dical Departnt. Let him recover properly."
"Yes, Marshal."
Several soldiers bravely stepped forward, assisting Bai Huipeng to leave the place.
As he left, Tang Ye turned his gaze back to the soldiers below.
"Right, where did I leave off just now?"
"Marshal, you were talking about why we are here."
"That’s right, this is it." Tang Ye nodded and then asked, "Since that’s the case, do you know why we are here?"
