But was it already too late to discover that Xu Hui had escaped?

On the open-air parking lot, with several new humans accompanying him, Xu Hui staggered towards the distant office building and sneered coldly.

"You think you can catch ? Even if you search to the ends of the earth, it’s impossible. Just wait until I co back; I’ll make sure you all pay!" he declared.

He glanced at the few people beside him, and his expression soured even more—his base only had these few people left, how could he not feel the pain? But this was no ti to dwell on that, protecting his own life was paramount.

Without wasting another mont, he headed straight for the transport aircraft nearby. Once everyone was on board and the cabin door shut, they all breathed a sigh of relief; at least they didn’t have to worry about their lives being at risk anymore.

Soon after, the pilot started the engine, and the aircraft roared to life. To avoid attracting attention, Xu Hui had deliberately sprayed the markings of other underground forces on the fuselage to mislead onlookers. After all, fleeing as a leader by walking or driving was very dangerous.

Even if they managed to escape from the United District, the massive horde of zombies outside was no joke.

Only by choosing an aircraft for transportation could they avoid certain dangers, at least as long as they didn’t run into a flock of zombie birds, they were safe.

"Let’s get moving quickly," he urged.

Shortly after, Xu Hui shouted to the pilot in agitation.

"Oh, right!"

The pilot responded and increased the power. The aircraft’s roar grew louder, and the entire fra began to shake, but it failed to lift off the ground.

"What’s going on? Why aren’t we moving?" so ti passed, and Xu Hui, sensing sothing was wrong, bellowed in anger.

Now, the pilot seated at the controls was sweating bullets from his forehead—he didn’t know what was going on either, as to why the aircraft was just making noise without actually getting anywhere.

The engines kept thundering while the aircraft shuddered non-stop like an epileptic patient, its nose which was originally pointed to the east now trembling towards the south.

Inside, the passengers were so frustrated they felt like spitting blood. Overco with tension, one of them, in a fit of rage, drew a mini particle beam gun from his waist and aid it at the pilot’s head.

"What are you doing?"

The pilot, whose face looked as if he were about to cry, said tremblingly, "I... I don’t know! This... it seems like it’s breaking down!"

"Dammit! Falling apart at a critical mont!"

Xu Hui was furious, trembling with fear—he had imagined what would happen if he were caught by mbers of the Peace Party!

At this mont, anyone with half a brain could tell that there was a problem with the aircraft, and it was unable to take off, but what ti was it now? He couldn’t allow himself to be captured by the Peace Party!

"Get down there! Check it out! You’ve got one minute! Hurry up!" he ordered.

"Yes, yes, yes!"

The pilot hastily complied and opened the cabin door as fast as he could to go check things out.

But the very next second, just as the pilot began to check the door, a sharp foot suddenly extended inside and with a "puchi" sound, pierced through the pilot’s chest, while a chilling voice ca from outside the aircraft.

"No need to check, you can’t escape anymore, hehehe~"

The sudden turn of events left Xu Hui and the others both shocked and furious, as they shouted, "Who’s out there!"

"You don’t know , but I can tell you, I am from the Peace Party!"

"The... Peace Party? Did you sabotage the plane?" Xu Hui felt cold from head to toe, even his voice carried a tremble.

"I suppose you could say that. I just wanted to make a round here to see if there were any suspicious characters around. I took a chance, and I didn’t expect to actually run into one."

The owner of the voice from outside was unknown, but it always gave off a very eerie feeling, as if the voice did not belong to a human being!

It sounded hoarse and hollow, as if it was coming from all directions, imposing a great deal of psychological pressure on people invisibly.

However, Xu Hui noticed sothing: there seed to be only one person making that sound!

"Who are you! Co out!" Realizing this, Xu Hui’s previously panicked heart settled down. If it was really just one person, and it wasn’t the chairman or vice-chairman of the Peace Party, they should be able to handle it.

"Oh... you want to co out?"

Upon hearing Xu Hui’s voice, the owner of the voice seed surprised, apparently not expecting his opponent to be so bold. Shouldn’t he have been scared out of his wits?

"Yes! If you’re a man, then co out!"

While speaking, Xu Hui’s hand quietly reached behind the cushion, and a laser weapon emitting a faint cold light subtly revealed itself.

"Is that so? Are you sure?"

At this mont, the owner of the voice also took on a cold tone, seemingly annoyed by Xu Hui’s sudden change of tone.

"Get out here!"

Seeing the other party respond like that, Xu Hui imdiately thought he was stalling for ti. His tone beca even more terse, faintly tinged with surging murderous intent.

"Very well, I hope you won’t be frightened by ."

"Heh heh~"

After a bizarre laugh, all of a sudden, the people still on the transporter, including Xu Hui, suddenly felt the air around them turn a few degrees colder, causing a chill in their hearts and a restlessness in their seats.

Before long, a figure appeared through the plane’s window glass at the nose of the craft, a man in a black coat, wearing an exceedingly eerie mask. The skin on his hands, exposed to the air, was a non-human color.

What was even more bizarre was that the pair of eyes visible outside the mask was glowing with a faint amber light! And his hair was as white as snow!

Standing there, his entire body seed to be enveloped by shadows, giving people an unsettling feeling inside.

The instant they saw this man, Xu Hui and his n all had a very bad feeling. They felt that the face behind the mask would definitely not be human; otherwise, there would be no reason to wear a mask for no reason.

"I’ve co out. How about it? Is it amusing?"

Suddenly, the newly appeared man’s voice was extrely unpleasant. As he spoke, one by one, tallic steps started to erge behind him!

At the sa ti, the expressions of Xu Hui and his few n began to stiffen second by second.

"Is this... is this an evolved mutant or... or a zombie?"

The man’s sudden transformation nearly scared them to death!

"Surprised? I’m only here to ask about sothing. I’m looking for soone nad Xu Hui, the leader of the rebels against the Peace Party. I want to kill him!"

As soon as he uttered those words, the faces of everyone on the transporter took on a strange look.

Damn it, the very man you’re looking to kill is right in front of you, and you still ask?

However, although that’s what they thought, they did not show it outwardly. Instead, they all shook their heads, saying, "We don’t have anyone nad Xu Hui here; you must have the wrong place."
