"Ah, so you now understand human speech."
A couple of young people slowly erged from the darkness. They were adolescents, each holding a protective helt for full combat in one hand and either a cigarette or a dagger in the other–quite insouciant.
"Sorry, I didn’t understand what you were saying earlier."
Dai Changhao was sincere in his apology, and while his excuse seed plausible, the others were not the type to be easily appeased. One of them snorted and said, "I won’t bother discussing Qinshan Base with you, we’re here to help you. Don’t think you can strut around out here just like you do around the base. Any one of us could take out all three of you!"
"Lin Shao, don’t waste your breath on these boors! Let’s get down to business."
The speaker wore a grin on his face. The youth standing at the front, appearing quite juvenile yet possessing an indomitable air of nobility, was referred to as Lin Shao.
"Whatever."
Lin Shao rubbed his hands together, an excited expression crossing his face. He looked at the boys behind him and muttered in a low voice, "Yang Yuexi left just now, didn’t she?"
"Don’t worry Lin Shao, your sister-in-law left early. We can have all the fun we want!"
Lin Shao’s excitent escalated. He threw away his cigarette and cursed, "That little bitch pretends to be pure, but wait until my dad is ready. We’ll kill the Yangs! Let’s see how she will pretend to be innocent then."
Upon hearing this, his friends erupted into laughter, repeating words of congratulation. Lin Shao smiled with satisfaction before turning his attention back to Dai Changhao and his companions.
"Each of you, cut off an ear as punishnt for pretending not to understand earlier. Then, find so pretty girls and bring them to us. If there are none, bring a couple of voluptuous ones. If you can’t even do that, bring your mothers...."
Lin Shao doubled over with laughter, obviously deriving pleasure from humiliating others like this. The best part was that, given his exceptional abilities and status as a New Human, survivors would never dare to retaliate, no matter how enraged they felt. In the end, they just had to accept their fate.
Before the Apocalypse, such behavior would have been illegal. But after the Apocalypse, these dehumanizing actions had beco the privilege of the powerful!
Sure enough, as soon as Lin Shao stopped talking, the faces of Dai Changhao’s group darkened, and a murderous intent poured out from them.
The youths sensed sothing was off, their eyes twinkling with amusent. They had seen many who didn’t dare to retaliate, but it was a rare sight to see soone stand up to them. Needless to say, Lin Shao was quite entertained.
"What, do you want to fight? Do you dare, you bunch of garbage?"
Lin Shao spat on the ground, his finger nearly jabbing Dai Changhao’s face. He was as brazen as ever, seemingly goading them into anger.
"You...hahaha!"
Outraged, Dai Changhao burst into laughter. The killing intent radiating from him caused the surrounding temperature to plumt. His eyes were filled with a murderous, ruthless light.
"What are you laughing at?"
"I’m laughing at your mother! Kill them all!"
Dai Changhao barked, letting his suppressed strength erupt. Instantly, the faces of Lin Shao and his friends went pale. They were New Humans themselves, and while they weren’t especially high-level, they were still capable of sensing the power within their fellow New Humans. Prior to this, the trio’s aura was no more than average. Who would have thought it could beco so overwhelmingly intense in just a mont’s ti?
"You...you’re not ordinary people!"
Lin Shao was so scared that he fumbled backwards, and his friends blanched. In their urgency, they each donned their full combat helts and hurriedly activated their exoskeleton combat armors.
"Fuck!"
Seeing Dai Changhao getting ready for combat, Little Wu began to release his own power. He stepped forward, unsheathed his zombie-slaying sword, and swiftly killed a youth who hadn’t completely covered himself in his exoskeleton armor.
"Don’t be rash. Killing people here will be troubleso to handle!"
Only Zhang Ding remained calm, not provoked by the youths’ words. However, even as he said this, he reluctantly drew his weapon and joined Dai Changhao and Little Wu in disposing of the adolescent thugs.
It wasn’t long before Lin Shao was the only one left, his face stricken with horror. He could feel how powerful Dai Changhao’s group was, and it was clear they were not soone he had the ability to ss with. However, seeing his compatriots being killed without rcy stirred a profound anger and resentnt within him.
This was the first ti anyone dared to kill in front of him. Back in the United District, none of the low-status people would dare to do such a thing, only those from wealth and privilege like him dared to cross that line.
Such audacity!
"You dare... Don’t think you’re all that. Just so you know, my dad is General Shang from the Jinhai United District, and the leader of the Plu Legion. He is a Level 4 New Human. He’s right now at your Qinshan Base. ss with , and he will kill you all instantly!"
"Level 4 New Humans? Is that supposed to be threatening? I’m a Level 4 New Human too!"
Dai Changhao sneered. There were dozens of Level 4 New Humans in the Peace Party, so they were not a rarity. By now, even Level 5 New Humans were beginning to appear.
"What?"
A startled Lin Shao hastily put on his full combat helt. As the exoskeleton combat armor finally completed its coverage, he felt a sense of safety. The exoskeleton armor was so sturdy that even Level 4 zombies had a hard ti breaking through it!
User Lin Shao’s friends brought no weapons with them. They only ca out to smoke and show off, without confessing their wrongdoing. Their only option was to keep retreating.
The other youths were fatally wounded by Dai Changhao and his n before their armor coverage could complete. They died in a flurry of blood splatter.
"Don’t kill ! Ah...."
"Get away! Ah... it hurts, I... ahhh!"
"..."
Hearing several agonizing screams, the veins in the foreheads of the three n pulsed, and they exchanged looks, saying simultaneously, "Hurry up and kill him!"
Knowing that no matter what he said, the three would not let him go, Lin Shao turned and ran, trying to shout and draw other soldiers from the United District to him.
Before he could make a sound, however, he was thrown back by a powerful force and rolled a few rounds on the ground, leaving several pits. But Lin Shao’s armor seed to remain intact.
"Die!"
The next second, Dai Changhao charged at him, raised his knife, and slashed it towards his head!
