At the roar-like voice of the burly man, Li Songhua flashed a mysterious smile. The arrival of Tang Fu signified the 50,000 Yajins she had gifted Li Henian hadn’t gone to waste! Her intention was to beckon Tang Fu to her!
"Co co co, don’t be angry, sit down first."
Li Songhua stood and greeted Ah Fu with the utmost courtesy, putting a more pleasant look on Ah Fu’s face, who let go of the door handle and approached the couch.
However, as soon as his hand left the door handle, the entire door crashed down with a loud "bang," startling both Li Songhua and the man across the room.
Looking at the fallen door, Ah Fu scratched his head in confusion.
"This..."
"It’s fine, please sit."
Li Songhua’s mouth twitched a few tis. This was a titanium alloy door! There’s no way it could be so easily torn off! Even Level 6 New Humans couldn’t just flick a door open, could they?
Although she knew in her heart that Ah Fu might have done it on purpose, what could she say?
"Director Li, since our business is complete, I’ll be taking my leave. I shouldn’t linger here any longer."
The man on the couch rose and spoke. Li Songhua, who was just giving lip-service, exchanged a few pleasantries before sending him on his way.
"Alright, take care, then."
"Alright, goodbye."
"Goodbye."
As the man exited, he subconsciously reached back to close the door, realise it was gone, chuckled awkwardly, and finally disappeared from Ah Fu and Li Songhua’s sight.
After he departed, Ah Fu, with his large and expressive eyes, began inspecting the room. This was his first ti here. The soldiers had told him that very few people had access to this room and it had only been completed a few days ago.
The room was predominantly white, decorated with day-to-day furniture and machines, so of which Ah Fu didn’t recognize. Particularly behind the couch, the wall was hollow and imbedded with glass. It held a transparent, red-violet object similar to an Evolution Crystal.
It was suspended midair, surrounded by countless small tubes that emitted arcs of blue electricity, drifting around, occasionally entering into a tube, and exiting to complete another round before being absorbed by the gigantic "Evolution Crystal."
"Buying corpses! Three Yajins for a Level 1 zombie body! Ten Yajins for a Level 2 zombie body! For a Level 3 zombie..."
"Please note, we only accept zombie bodies that have been dead for fewer than twenty-four hours. Anything beyond that ti fra is not accepted."
Ah Fu tilted his head. His heightened senses as a Level 6 zombie allowed him to hear even the slightest noise. Despite the sound being so soft that not even Level 3 New Human Li Songhua could hear it, he could.
He didn’t understand why the Qinshan Base didn’t accept zombie bodies before the 906 Treaty was enacted. But once it was, Li Songhua collected zombie bodies frantically, but only those which had been dead for fewer than twenty-four hours.
Most people were puzzled by the 906 Treaty. It was ostensibly designed to transform every survivor in Qinshan Base into a worker. This mystery was based on a simple principle of the pre-Apocalypse era. (This involves politics. The author won’t elaborate. You can look up why ho prices are so high.)
For this reason, Li Songhua abolished the system of distributing relief food once every three days inside Qinshan Base. To survive, one had to go out and contribute to Qinshan Base. Hence, compelled by the coercive reward system, the survivors had no choice other than taking the risk, with the potential reward of not having to worry about als for three whole years.
The reason it was called the 906 Treaty was relatively simple. It’s original na was the Comprehensive Grain Saving Treaty of Qinshan Base, sotis abbreviated as the Comprehensive Grain Stops Treaty of Qinshan Base.
However, since the treaty was implented on the 6th of September, people simplified its na to the 906 Treaty.
The good thing about this treaty was that it mobilised a large part of the people in the Qinshan Base, providing a continuous stream of resources. Simultaneously, so drawbacks also surfaced, such as the massive death toll during the mandatory enforcent period.
As Ah Fu’s eyes scanned the room, Li Songhua sat down opposite him and respectfully poured him a cup of tea. But noticing Ah Fu’s knitted eyebrows, she said in an embarrassed tone, "Don’t like it? Shall we switch to wine?"
Upon that, she poured away the tea and offered him a glass of an unobtainable, rare red wine from the post-Apocalyptic world. Ah Fu took a sniff of the glass and gulped the wine down.
After finishing, he swirled the taste around his mouth, trying to draw out the flavour. Yet after a while, Ah Fu cast a contemptuous glance at Li Songhua and muttered, "What kind of shitty drink is this? It doesn’t even have a taste! It’s disgusting!"
Li Songhua: "????"
"Disgusting?"
"Uh-huh."
"Alright."
Li Songhua felt helpless. She didn’t know whether Ah Fu had an issue with his sense of taste since he ntioned that red wine didn’t have a taste.
"Alright then. Since Brother Fu doesn’t like red wine, and I don’t seem to have anything else that you might find flavourful, shall we discuss the matter at hand?"
"The matter at hand is to find you! Humph, you know my power. One punch from could take down ten of you."
Ah Fu waved his enormous fist threateningly. He sat face-to-face with Li Songhua, with the difference in size between them akin to a dwarf and a giant.
Li Songhua’s face twitched again as she said appeasingly, "Of course I know that. But think about it, Fu Brother, while you and Li Henian are on the sa level of strength, you are nonetheless in a subordinate-manager relationship. Given your strength, you could certainly...well, you know what I an."
"What do you an?" Ah Fu’s eyes narrowed.
"Nothing much. As long as we understand each other, it’s good."
"What do you an ’as long as we understand each other?’ I would never betray my boss."
"Heh, you simply don’t understand. A subordinate has to act like one. You call Li Henian boss, thus placing you in a subordinate position. As a person, I understand the subtleties of giving and receiving – naturally, the gift would be given to the one holding the higher position. Wouldn’t you agree?"
"Uh-huh." Ah Fu nodded in agreent with Li Songhua’s words.
"In that case, there shouldn’t be any problem if I give a gift to Li Henian, right? Obviously, if you were the one in the higher position, the giver would definitely favor you."
"Then why don’t you give so too?" Ah Fu blinked, and Li Songhua looked at him as if he were an imbecile.
"That’s indeed possible. However, referring to the principle of giving and receiving, I could divide the gift into two portions for you and Li Henian. But in this case, you must receive less than Li Henian due to his higher position, which is why you must call him boss."
With a mysterious glint in her eyes, Li Songhua was convinced Ah Fu was the type of person who was simple-minded with an impressive physique, and could be easily manipulated.
