The fishern heard Yaztec’s shout and directed their gaze to where he was pointing.
"Huh? What’s that red line?" soone wondered aloud.
Yaztec’s movents were swift. He lifted the cara again, switched to recording mode, and aid the lens at the red line approaching in the distance.
Just then, a loud "boom" resonated and the massive ship rocked a few tis. People exclaid in surprise. So fishern rushed to the edge of the boat to see what had happened and saw a gigantic zombie sea creature ramming against the bottom of the cargo ship.
Anxiety flashed in Yaztec’s eyes. Whispering "this is bad" to himself, he sensed a dreadful premonition unfolding before his eyes. What could it be?
What he feared most was a superhuge monster lurking under the sea! If such a creature erged, he wasn’t sure if his trembling heart could handle it.
Just the re thought of a colossal shadow rising from the sea caused his body to go weak.
"Bring the weapon!"
Lang Kulu shouted, and soone passed him a two-ter long "stick" with a red-glowing energy storage cube at its tail.
"Captain, here, take this!"
"Good!"
Lang Kulu received the long stick and imdiately aid it at the giant creature pounding against the ship’s deck, pressing the trigger.
Zzz~
A sound similar to an electrical current echoed through the air. Soon afterward, a red light shot out, striking the monster that instantaneously spewed a gush of black blood from its head before sinking into the sea.
Using one hand to steady himself against the railing and the other to hold the cara, Yaztec fild the red line slowly advancing from afar.
As ti passed, the fishern could finally see the true nature of the red line. It was a wave!
A tidal wave a ter high! And it was red! What was causing it?
As the wave got closer, people caught sight of the truth. The wave was red because there was blood in the water!
Upon this realization, soone scread in panic, "What on earth is going on‽"
At the sound of that shriek, a ceaseless "thud thud thud" ca from both sides of the cargo ship. Looking down, they saw countless zombie fish leaping out of the water, frantically hitting the ship.
But, zombie fish were not human-based zombies. Since they couldn’t sll humans from outside the water, they wouldn’t attack humans intentionally. So why were these hideous zombie fish leaping out of the water, seemingly trying to attack?
Anyone familiar with the creatures of this place would struggle to comprehend what was happening. After all, the zombie fish shouldn’t be able to see people aboard the ship from below the water surface!
At that mont, Lang Kulu glanced at Yaztec, recalling his premonitions from earlier. Now, he too had a strong sense of foreboding!
Sothing big was definitely going down!

Just as this thought crossed his mind, an ethereal call reverberated throughout the heavens. Then, people saw a gigantic whale of seventy to eighty ters long leap out from the red tide wave!
Its cry was drawn-out. The mont it broke the water surface, a long wall of water cascaded down, and the counter-life substance detector on board started fluctuating, finally settling at Level 4.
Everyone was startled. Upon seeing the giant creature, they relaxed a bit when they realized it was just a whale.
Whales are generally friendly creatures, rarely aggressive towards humans. After the apocalypse, unless a whale zombified, evolved whales of any level would not attack humans. In fact, the people on the ship had often interacted with Level 4 whales.
For instance, they would often toss out so fernted fish to feed the whales they saw during their sea voyages. The whales seed to enjoy playing with them. Of course, there were also those who exploited the whales’ trust to hunt them.
Therefore, while the sight of a seventy to eighty-ter-long whale breaching was indeed awe-inspiring, having seen it multiple tis, the fishern no longer felt the initial surge of amazent.
Although they were initially puzzled about the red wave, once they realized it was just a whale, they quit worrying about why the tidal wave was red. Instead, they tried to maneuver the ship to et the wave at the right angle.
However, they soon noticed sothing was wrong. They could hear the whale’s call filled with despair. Upon closer examination, they discovered a large gash in the whale’s abdon where they could vaguely see its guts. The grueso sight of the blood flowing into the sea like a waterfall was enough to turn the blue ocean red.
"It’s injured!"
a Level 4 evolved creature! How did it get hurt?"
Listening to the chatter around him, Yaztec felt proud for having captured the mont when the gigantic whale breached the water. Before he could examine the wounded whale, another one breached the water surface. Its ethereal and haunting call filled people’s ears, the sorrow in its tone louder than before.
This second whale was a bit smaller, asuring in at just over fifty ters, but it was still a behemoth!
When it breached the surface, it too created a long wall of water mixed with scarlet blood. Once the water settled, they could see a large chunk of flesh had been torn off its head, revealing a clear view of its muscular tissue!
"How is it injured too?"
"Exactly?"
Yaztec’s eyes shimred as his hand holding the cara started to shake.
"Both whales are hurt...this can’t be good. Sothing’s wrong. We have to get out of here!"
His unease intensified. The breaching whales didn’t appear to be showing off for a crowd; rather, it seed like they were fleeing. But what could be pursuing them?
Yaztec put down his cara and shouted amidst the crowd: "Everyone, hurry up! It’s dangerous here!"
At this point, he couldn’t afford to worry about whether people would think him a lunatic. A real crisis could co at the cost of their lives, and he wasn’t ready to die yet!
Despite his loudness, the hubbub onboard drowned out his calls. No matter how loud he shouted, no one could hear him.
Yaztec didn’t know how many tis he shouted, but his efforts seed to have no effect.
"Get away from here! Go notify the captain! Get away...."
He moved among the crowd, uttering his warnings. However, before he could finish, another whale turned up, its body entirely covered in lesions! Then another, followed by a third, fourth!
Eventually, countless evolved whales, each asuring at least fifty ters long, breached the surface. Their mournful, ethereal cries echoed continuously. The enormous walls of water drenched everyone on board. Yaztec froze. Everyone froze.
They had never witnessed such a magnificent scene, not even in their wildest dreams. The counter-life substance detector in the captain’s hand hopped around as each whale breached the surface. Astonishingly, each whale was no lower than Level 3, including an enormous Level 5 whale!
"Look at the water!" Soone noticed that the sea had turned rust-colored, causing several heads to turn. The sea was filled with dense, rust-colored zombie fish, saturating the entire oceanic region!
