When everyone saw a Level 1 New Human stepping forward, they all froze in surprise. Those sitting next to him quickly distanced themselves, fearing they might be involved in whatever was about to happen.
In no ti, only five people from Shiwuguan Base remained at the table, with the rest of the crowd having dispersed.
The Level 2 New Human from the Demon Claw rcenary Group, who had recently spoken up, was stunned. The Level 3 New Human, who was about to take a sip of his wine, placed his glass down and stared at the five n, his eyes flashing with a murderous intent.
For the first ti since the Apocalypse, soone dared to challenge him.
He had one arm around a woman, and perhaps out of fear, tightened his grip on her shoulder. His fingers dug so deep that the woman let out a painful scream, but she didn’t dare move, watching helplessly as blood flowed from her shoulder and down her chest.
"What a tough guy you are!"
The Level 2 New Human who teased the five n, suddenly shot up, an icy chill about him. He grabbed the hair of the Level 1 New Human from Shiwuguan base and slamd his head onto the counter.
Smash!
The glass on the counter shattered. Blood stread from his forehead, but the Demon Claw rcenary didn’t kill him outright.
The other four let out gasps, wishing to co to his aid but not knowing how. As ordinary people, they were no match for a Level 2 New Human.
After the Shiwuguan Base’s Level 1 New Human had his head slamd onto the counter, the bartender flinched. He quickly put down his wine bottle and retreated behind a small door.
"Anyone else feel brave enough?"
The Demon Claw rcenary glowered fiercely, adding more weight to the hand pressing the man’s head down.
The shock and realization hit him. Here, he wasn’t at Shiwuguan Base and his boss wasn’t by his side. If he got killed at Qinshan Base, that would be the end of him!
Despite sensing danger, the confidence he drew from his boss and Level 6 New Humans like Ah Fu prompted him to yell at the Level 2 New Human,"Let go!"
"F*ck!"
The Demon Claw rcenary yanked at the man’s hair in anger, tearing off a chunk of scalp.
"Stop!"
The four n on the side drew their guns, pointing at the Demon Claw rcenary.
"Ha, not bad, you have guns."
The rcenary chuckled, revealing his Level 2 human blood. Seeing ard ordinary people in Qinshan Base would normally prompt suspicion that they belonged to another force. However, these five looked unfamiliar and impeccably dressed.
Furthermore, the Demon Claw rcenaries themselves were an elite force in Qinshan Base. Facing these five n, he had doubts. Either they were newcors to Qinshan Base, or they had recently joined a powerful faction and thought their alliances made them invincible.
Yet, would any major force risk conflict for the sake of four ordinary humans and one Level 1 New Human? It was also uncertain whether these five n actually had so substantial faction backing them up.
"You’d better let him go, or you’ll have to face the consequences," one man from Shiwuguan Base declared nervously.
The rcenary laughed heartily, grabbed the earlier man’s head and slamd it back onto the counter. "Consequences? Ha, where are you from? You think you’re tough?"
"Our boss is a Level 6 New Human, you’d better think about that!"
"Level 6 New Human? Ahahaha~..."
Everyone present burst out laughing, including the Level 3 New Human from the Demon Claw rcenary Group. It felt like they’d just heard the funniest joke in the world.
At this ti, there were only a few known Level 5 New Humans. The chances of encountering a Level 5 New Human were even lower than winning a lottery before the Apocalypse, let alone a Level 6?
His claim, "Our boss is a Level 6 New Human," had moved beyond being a laughing matter, it was simply embarrassing!
It was like soone talking to you about one thing while you pretend to know all about another non-existent thing. This guy looked as though he was speaking from experience. Wasn’t this awkward?
"Level 6? I’m so scared. I could squash your boss with a single finger!"
The Demon Claw rcenary relentlessly mocked. The New Human in his grasp was breathing heavily, pinned down, he inadvertently inhaled a few shards of glass, making him feel very uncomfortable.
Just as the Demon Claw rcenary was about to deliver the killing blow, a young woman erged from the door the bartender had previously retreated into. She was dressed in a black waitress uniform which was very different from the revealing outfits the other girls wore. Her clothing was conservative, only her arm as white as jade and her delicate collarbone were exposed.
Her features were unusual, distinctive enough to be morable at a glance. Of course, it was just a feeling. Her perfect facial features made her eyes stunning. They were so gentle that they seed to suction away all the unhappiness of those who t her gaze.
It was Chen Bieli who Tang Ye had t earlier today.
"Stop, what are you doing?"
The rcenary was taken aback upon hearing her voice. Once he saw her, his eyes locked on her and a strong desire to possess her flashed in his eyes. However, for so reason, he suppressed it.
Although she did not give off any New Human vibes, her presence significantly eased the tense atmosphere. Even the Level 3 New Human who was sitting on the couch tidy up his clothes and stood up. He approached her in a gentlemanly manner, "Miss Chen Bieli, it’s been a long ti. You’ve beco more beautiful."
Chen Bieli knitted her brows but politely replied, "You flatter ."
There was sothing strange about their conversation. Everyone else found the interaction between a Level 3 New Human and an ordinary human bizarre, but they soon got their answer.
"I heard Miss Bieli is going to marry Young Master Jin," the leader of the Demon Claw rcenary Group said with a strange glint in his eyes.
"That’s happening next month." Chen Bieli didn’t seem interested in engaging with him. After delivering a curt reply, she turned her attention to the man whose head was still pinned to the counter.
"You said your boss is a Level 6 New Human?"
"Yes! Our boss is a Level 6 New Human! You’d better let go!" Upon hearing soone ask him, the man was excited that his words were almost unintelligible due to his overwhelming will to live.
Chen Bieli furrowed her brows, her eyes lit up slightly. Then she asked, "Your accents, you guys aren’t locals, did you co from Lin City?"
"Yes! We ca from Lin City."
Upon hearing this, the bystanders gaped in disbelief. From Lin City? But Lin City was currently in chaos because of the Zombie King. Did they travel here in a helicopter?
Ignoring the shock of those around, Chen Bieli asked another question, "What’s your boss’s na?"
"His na is Li Henian."
