Xu ngyun, Long Yingjia, Uncle Li, and the man with glasses, all four adults, looked at Tang Ye with strange expressions, none of them responding imdiately.
Li Henian’s identity as the Chinese Zombie King was known to them only because of Xiang Shan; otherwise, they would never have found out in their lifeti. This, however, made them realize that Li Henian had been hiding his identity from the world! This indicated he didn’t want people to know he was the Chinese Zombie King!
Unfortunately, they accidentally uncovered this secret!
The implication of Tang Ye’s words was to confirm sothing with them. If they responded, today would be the end of the road for everyone!
It depended on whether Li Henian needed to keep it a secret. If he did, a dead man’s mouth is the tightest!
Even Uncle Li, who was well-traveled and knowledgeable, hesitated at Tang Ye’s words.
Seeing their prolonged silence, Tang Ye lifted a hand to his face, looking down at his hand as he clenched and unclenched his fist, saying sowhat nonchalantly, "You’d better tell the truth. After all, whether the outco is favorable or not is for to decide. Just a reminder, I don’t like liars."
Hearing Tang Ye’s words, Long Yingjia instinctively took a step forward, but the next mont Xu ngyun reached out to hold her back.
"ngyun..."
Xu ngyun shook her head at Long Yingjia, her face tinged with sadness. She glanced at the group of children behind her, her eyes full of reluctance, yet more so with resignation...
Xiang Shan, pinned to the ground, struggled madly, but all his efforts seed utterly futile in the face of absolute power!
"Bastard! What the hell do you want to do!" He reached out, attempting to clutch at Tang Ye but didn’t expect Tang Ye to bend and swiftly tie his hand to Tang Ye’s tentacle, forming a huge, tight knot, leaving him immobilized!
Xu ngyun also struggled internally, debating whether to answer Tang Ye’s question, but after thinking for a long ti, she couldn’t co up with a reason. Finally, she looked back at Uncle Li, trying to see if he had found a good answer direction.
The result was utterly disappointing; the other party also shook his head with quite a helpless look.
Seeing this, Xu ngyun could only take a deep breath and look up at the sky.
Tonight, whether alive or dead, it’s all up to the heavens!
"You are Li Henian!"
A minute after Tang Ye asked that question, Xu ngyun finally stepped out and answered. She carefully observed any change in Tang Ye’s expression, but Tang Ye’s face remained as usual. He simply asked, "And then?"
"And then... you are the Zombie King?"
"Looks like the guy under my feet told you all about ..."
A strange expression appeared on Tang Ye’s face, and seeing this expression made Xu ngyun’s heart grow cold, but she accepted her fate now, saying decisively, "There’s no need for you to waste words. Such a big secret as yours, since we’ve known, just do what you have to!"
"Huh?"
The mont after those words fell, Xu ngyun and the others heard Tang Ye’s sowhat bewildered voice, causing them to be montarily confused.
"You... you won’t kill us?"
"Who said I would kill you?"
"..."
"Aren’t you afraid we’ll tell your secret to others?"
"Ho~ so eager to die?"
"Then what do you intend to do?" questioned the man with glasses, his inner activity bursting with confusion at Tang Ye’s declaration not to kill them!
But Tang Ye didn’t answer him; instead, he looked at Xu ngyun.
Besides Xu ngyun, who was a Level 7 New Human, the others before him were all ordinary people.
"Where did these little kids co from?"
"They... are from everywhere, adopted by us," Xu ngyun replied.
"Adopted by you..." Tang Ye glanced around. Apart from the few adults like Xu ngyun, the children looked to range from three or four years old to twelve or thirteen. The clothes they wore weren’t exactly shabby, but not too good either, quite similar to the typical residents within Cloud Gorge Base.
Not to ntion anything else, just judging from the middle-aged man’s worn-out jacket, it was evident their life was very straitened.
Both adults and children carried or held belongings, mainly items for warmth and simple nourishnt mud along with so protein bars.
"And what sort of people are you?" Tang Ye asked again.
"We’re all teachers from the orphanage; the apartnt building behind us is our orphanage."
"Hmm..." Tang Ye nodded, smiling as he continued, "Don’t worry, I won’t do anything to you guys. After all, there’s nothing wrong with having more people like you."
"This..." Hearing Tang Ye’s words, although Xu ngyun and the others felt puzzled, they breathed a great sigh of relief after receiving Tang Ye’s direct confirmation.
But just when they exchanged glances of relief and smiles with one another, Tang Ye spoke again, and his tone suddenly shifted.
"However..."
Their hearts tightened once more.
"I have a simple request, which is to take away this zombie nad Xiang Shan. I’m very interested in him."
"Take away Xiang Shan..." Hearing Tang Ye’s demand, Xu ngyun and Long Yingjia behind her exchanged looks, unable to make a clear decision.
They had shared hardships for so many years, and although not kin, their emotional bond was as deep as familial ties.
Once Xiang Shan was handed over, his life or death in the future would be uncertain. No one knew what Tang Ye intended to do with Xiang Shan?
If there was no malice, it would be okay, but if there was, what then?
This wasn’t sothing they could decide.
"What do you want to do with him?" Having weighed the matter, Xu ngyun still plucked up the courage to ask.
"Since you know my identity, you should also know about the Royal Court behind and what kind of composition it has. You have probably learned a thing or two. Do I really need to explain what I want to do with him? Furthermore, using just one of him to exchange for all of your lives, isn’t that worthwhile?"
Xu ngyun’s face turned bitter; Tang Ye’s words instead made them feel that their chance of survival was traded with Xiang Shan’s life, but how could she refuse?
The young man before her was far from being as simple as he appeared!
He was a Zombie King!
The laws of human society couldn’t do anything to him! Even if Su Sigui had already arrived here, upon learning that he was indeed the white-haired Zombie King of the Chinese Continent, she also had to consider what consequences would arise from unleashing such a battle in Cloud Gorge Base!
Never forget, during that ti when the Chinese Zombie King was in direct combat with the Lan Ou Corpse King, it caused continuous tremors across both continental plates, with frequent earthquakes and tsunamis! The block in the northwest direction of the continent turned completely fragnted!
If Su Sigui and the Zombie King’s battle erupted here, the result, irrespective of who won or lost, for these 27 million people... it would be a scene of rivers of blood and utter ruin!
