The man’s words made Tang Ye’s gaze turn cold, and an almost imperceptible chilling aura emanated from him, directly affecting the surrounding environnt and causing the temperature to drop suddenly!
His opponent shivered, feeling as if his very soul began to tremble. Clearly sensing sothing was off, he too beca serious. Based on his many years of experience as a "person," he knew the young man before him was not soone to be trifled with!
"Oh~ no, no, no, I think you misunderstood my aning. I really don’t have the dicine you’re looking for here, because I don’t even know what this dicine is!"
"Really?"
"My God, I swear in the na of God, I really don’t know what this dicine is. How could I not even do business?"
"Of course, I have so dicines in bottles that look similar, but I have to ensure my custors that they’ll be fine taking them."
Hearing this, Tang Ye cald down, but the next second, his brows furrowed tightly, and he scrutinized the dicine bottles again. The packaging was indistinct, making it impossible to tell what the dicine was.
The man’s words seed genuine, and feeling helpless, he could only say, "In that case, take out all the dicines that look similar."
"Are you sure?" Tang Ye’s words made the man hesitate, but Tang Ye nodded without hesitation and said, "Yes."
"Well... alright then, I’ll show you."
The man stood up from the sofa and walked toward the dicine cabinet. Just after taking a few steps, he turned back to Tang Ye and said, "Sir, you have to promise one thing. If you take the dicine and have any issues, you can’t bla nor file a lawsuit. If the dicine doesn’t work, I won’t agree to a refund or exchange either!"
"What nonsense, just hurry up and find it. If I buy the wrong one, it’s my own bad luck." Tang Ye said impatiently, and the man didn’t dare say anything more. After rummaging through the dicine cabinet, he took out three or four bottles of dicine.
But at a glance, Tang Ye saw that these dicine bottles were only similar to the one in his hand, but clearly different. The packaging on one bottle labeled "Pantoprazole" was about eighty to ninety percent similar to his own.
"What is this dicine?"
"It’s for treating stomach issues, uh... sir... if you have stomach pains, I have better treatnts, although the price..."
"No need, just this one."
"Alright, sir."
"How much?"
"A total of 1200 pesos."
"Wait a mont."
Feeling his pocket, Tang Ye left the pharmacy and returned to his general store. After retrieving so cash and stationery from behind the counter, he went back to the pharmacy.
Paying the money, Tang Ye took the "Pantoprazole" and left the pharmacy amidst the man’s "welco to visit again." Of course, Tang Ye wasn’t foolish; he naturally understood the curse implicit in the man’s words, but he couldn’t be bothered to care. To him, people here were no different from paper figures.
Returning to the general store, he sat on the chair behind the counter, opened the newly acquired dicine, and brought it close to his nose to sniff.
A faint scent of decaying bamboo, not particularly unpleasant but also not pleasant, distinctly different from the expired dicine Lu Xiaojie had given him.
Taking one tablet out, Tang Ye compared it to the others. It was also different. In the expired bottle, many tablets had crumbled to powder, with a small portion retaining a tablet shape – elliptical, while this "Pantoprazole" tablet was more rounded. Tang Ye could conclude that "Pantoprazole" wasn’t the dicine he needed.
However, to confirm his conclusion, Tang Ye tasted a tablet. As expected, his body experienced no reaction. The tablet was digested the instant it entered his mouth, failing to affect him in any way.
"Should I... still try it?"
Placing the "Pantoprazole" aside, Tang Ye hesitated as he examined the dicine from Lu Xiaojie.
"Forget it, better to see if Lu Xiaojie can explain it to first."
Screwing the cap back on, Tang Ye ultimately decided not to try it, setting it aside beneath the counter.
Glancing outside the window, the sunny day stirred in him a desire to visit China, but the next instant, he recalled what Lu Xiaojie had said to him on the newspaper.
...Do not attempt to explore the edges of this world!
The troubleso matters seed to be on Lu Xiaojie’s side, so he figured it was best not to trouble her further. Of course, Tang Ye hoped that Lu Xiaojie was still alive and well.
Leaving the counter, Tang Ye went upstairs, opened the small cabinet door, and checked the clock inside. It was around half-past five in the afternoon, and the prolonged sunlight had made the air a bit stuffy.
Closing the small door, he flipped through the books Mr. Pillay was reading, but unfortunately, they didn’t suit Tang Ye’s tastes. With no way to pass the ti, Tang Ye felt bored again.
Just then, he heard the sound of the door opening downstairs—the shop door. Did a custor arrive?
Hearing the sound, Tang Ye hurried downstairs, calling out, "Need anything?..."
As soon as the words left his mouth, Tang Ye paused. An unexpected visitor had arrived at the shop; it was Dairya.
She stood at the doorway, wearing a backpack, her wrists crossed at her stomach, her head lowered.
Beads of sweat slid down from her forehead. She must have run here. Tang Ye glanced outside the shop. No one was pursuing her, and his extended perception didn’t detect those kids from yesterday.
When Tang Ye appeared on the stairs, she glanced up briefly and quickly lowered her head again, hastily saying, "Mr. Pillay, can I continue reading the book from yesterday? Don’t worry, I will buy it!"
Her voice was slightly loud but carried a tense and anxious tone, as if afraid Tang Ye might refuse. However, how could Tang Ye possibly reject her?
"Go ahead."
"Thank you." After receiving Tang Ye’s permission, Dairya expressed her gratitude, but her voice beca much softer upon uttering those words.
After uttering "thank you," she never dared to look up at Tang Ye, moving to the back and picking up "Hepney’s Dream Forest" to continue reading from where she left off yesterday.
It was as if Tang Ye was completely unaware of the events of that morning; he asked nothing. Passing behind Dairya, he glanced at the red mark on her neck, which had turned completely blue.
It was 5:30 now, school dismissal ti. This was apparent because so students walking ho could be seen on the streets, and Dairya was the first to enter the shop. She likely dashed out of school the mont classes were over, arriving at the general store in no ti, probably because of "Hepney’s Dream Forest" book.
Dairya seed deeply engrossed in its content. Even though she had her back to him and Tang Ye couldn’t see her eyes, he could still sense the longing in her heart.
