Regardless of whether they’re zombies or New Humans, the more they consu, the faster they evolve. The things that New Humans consu provide much less energy than what zombies consu, causing zombies to evolve at a rate far ahead of humans!

Eating is just one pathway of evolution for zombies and New Humans. Of course, there are many other thods, just that humans are yet to discover them.

A regular zombie that consus the evolution crystal of a Level 1 zombie will evolve into a Level 1 zombie. Consuming the Evolution Crystal Core found within a New Human’s brain would also trigger the evolution into Level 1. Eating is indeed a path of evolution for zombies.

Considering these three large glass vessels of evolution elixir here...

Yindan Base exerted great efforts to develop this evolution elixir. Any evolution crystals they managed to get were directed straight into the lab!

How many evolution crystals are contained within these three large glass vessels now?

One hundred? Two hundred? Or perhaps more?

And that’s not to ntion the Level 2 Evolution Crystals contained within them as well!

The New Human defense squads at the base, as well as the Zombie Slaying Teams and soldiers, would venture beyond the base every day to vanquish evolved zombies and claim their Evolution Crystals!

Although the number of Evolution Crystals they initially acquired was relatively low, as ti passed and the population of evolved zombies increased, the number of Evolution Crystals they procured substantially increased as well. The casualties suffered by the soldiers also escalated concurrently.

These glass vessels contained the essence of the evolution crystals. Even though the harmful substances towards New Humans were extracted from them, their quantities remained substantial!

What happened to these vessels, which were now entirely consud by Tang Ye, a zombie? Would he evolve into a Level 4 zombie?

Yiyan was unsure of Tang Ye’s exact level, and she dared not confirm which specific level he fell under. However, she deeply hoped that it had all been good luck on Tang Ye’s part—Level 3 zombies were too rare, and she was adverse to facing such an entity.

Even if she did face one, she would continue to deny the reality if the level hadn’t been officially verified through technological ans. She’d rather believe that Tang Ye was a Level 2 zombie who managed to survive through sheer luck and cunning!

If Tang Ye was indeed a Level 3 zombie and evolved into Level 4, how would she eliminate him amidst this base containing thousands of survivors?

Although it was highly possible that a Level 4 zombie could be eliminated, this would involve using weapons of mass destruction. Upon utilizing such weapons, they would not only kill Tang Ye but take many other lives along with him!

These lives were under her control. Yiyan felt a sense of unease. She, a female aged below twenty, had experienced a lot. However, she was far from reaching the point of viewing countless lives as insignificant!

Suppressing her unease, Yiyan picked up the intercom again. Allowing her emotions to settle upon hearing the voice within, she responded, "Hello!"

"Hello, this is the Third Defense Group. Situation remains normal for now, may I ask..."

Yiyan exhaled in relief as she heard a man’s voice within the intercom with no traces of panic, indicating that Yan Zhaofeng’s death hadn’t sparked an overwhelming wave of panic amongst the soldiers outside. She then proceeded to interrupt the man on the other end, declaring in an unmistakable tone, "All of you must stay on high alert. You must slay that zombie should it surface! Must! There’s a high chance that it has begun to evolve! You must halt it!"

Finishing her orders, Yiyan didn’t wait for the man’s reply. She signaled to those behind her and briskly made her way towards the exit from which Tang Ye had bolted!

This left the man outside with a bewildered expression. He wondered why there would be a zombie at Yindan Base, which was functioning perfectly fine. Earlier, it was ntioned that there was a possible Level 3 zombie.

Was Yan Zhaofeng really dead?

He doubted if Yiyan had murdered Yan Zhaofeng and then conveniently blad it on a zombie. However, he didn’t dwell on it either. Regardless of who killed Yan Zhaofeng, as long as his benefits weren’t impeded, it didn’t matter to him.

With Yan Zhaofeng’s death, his position as Base Master of Yindan Base was likely to be transferred to soone else. He knew he was unlikely to obtain that position—it would probably end up with the young girl from Guanglan Base.

He certainly envied her, yet he had no choice. This Wen Yixian was a Level 2 New Human, and also the daughter of Wen Jinxiong from Guanglan Base. She surpassed him in both her background and capabilities!

Guanglan Base was incomparable to Yindan Base. It was a Grade B Survivor Base, sheltering over two hundred thousand survivors—a population twice that of Yindan Base. Moreover, Wen Jinxiong held a governnt post and was a legitimate leader!

This was not sothing Yan Zhaofeng, a usurper, could ever match!

The corpses left outside of the clock tower from the previous battle had been removed, leaving only the heavily ard soldiers present in three different layers.

So vehicles were even equipped with weapons that could induce fear in the ruling power of the pre-apocalyptic world—Arica!

Quantum cannons!

The soldiers were relatively relaxed. They had been gathered by Yan Zhaofeng just before sleep ti. Now that Yan Zhaofeng was dead, they had even less motivation. They believed that the base harboring a zombie was probably one of his pranks. Who knew what he was planning?

A zombie infiltrating a base vernacularly filled with a hundred thousand people such as Yindan Base? Was that a joke? Did he see the guards on the zombie-protective fortifications as vegetarians?

Moreover, zombies didn’t possess intelligence. Even if soone wanted to smuggle them in, it would probably be extraordinarily difficult!

The alleged existence of zombies within the base was hard to believe.

The bored Third Group Captain reached into his pocket and fished out a packet of cigarettes. Under the envious gazes of the soldiers around him, he opened the packet, carefully extracted a single cigarette, and hooked it onto his mouth.

Click!

The sound of a lighter resounded, and a spark ignited the end of the cigarette. The Third Group captain exhaled a cloud of smoke and narrowed his eyes in satisfaction.

However, he imdiately lost his sense of satisfaction.

Tang Ye charged out of the lab, entered an office with an exit, and ran out without hesitation!

His body temperature was increasing, reaching a scalding heat. In Tang Ye’s anxious mind, he now just wished to find a safe spot within a limited amount of ti to complete his evolution!

As soon as he exited the clock tower’s main entrance, Tang Ye’s vision was filled with the silhouettes of soldiers.

Seeing Tang Ye’s figure, the soldiers were initially taken aback. However, as they spotted the bloody tentacles swinging from Tang Ye’s neck, they imdiately recognized who he was. They raised their voices and yelled to the people beside them, "There really is a zombie! There really is a zombie!"

"It’s erged!"

"What?"

"Shoot!"

"Fire!"

Sudden gunfire filled the air, with intense firepower aid at Tang Ye. The tiles on the ground where Tang Ye stood were blown apart!

Roar!

A deafening roar escaped his mouth. Tang Ye didn’t feel like killing them anymore. The longer he delayed, the more certain death beca for him. He had no desire to die, especially since he hadn’t t that one person he was searching for—he would have certainly been unwilling to die!

Tang Ye’s body abruptly left the spot as a "rumble" of an explosion sounded, resulting in an explosion that sent continuous waves of flas behind him!

His gaze swept across the surroundings in an instant, settling on an area where there were fewer people, and he bolted in that direction!
